The Mother is incapable of raising the child and as a matter of urgency ,the relevant Govt agency should intervene and take the child to a foster home. The driver of that car should also be arrested.
Foster home in Nigeria? This is most likely displaced Nigerians from the North. We see these kids every day especially in Lekki. The government should get them off the streets and enrol the kids in school

PoliticsRe: Abia Lawmaker Faces Court Today Over Assault On Abuja Bolt Driver by weslay: 7:14pm On Oct 30, 2024
Armaggedon:
your argument is trash. Recording someone in his house is illegal and being allowed to walk away with such recording proves the reps member is not troublesome. It doesn't work that way. In law, it's not just about what happened but the cause. The bolt driver might end up getting into more trouble.
Bro, he had a lawful business in that house, so has the right to record for his safety. He didn't go there for the sole purpose of recording the Magician.

RomanceRe: My Ex Boyfriend Is Confusing Me by weslay: 7:18pm On Oct 20, 2024
How about your family? Did you fall from the sky?

Doolove:
My ex boyfriend broke up with me shortly before I went for service, citing irreconcilable differences. It coincided with a period that he had a setback in business that made him lose a huge amount of money and left him in debt, I tried my best to support him but he still accused me of lack of empathy towards his situation because of a comment that I made.

It has not been easy for me since I left for camp, and I'm still suffering, most times I feed from the goodwill of toasters. I've been receiving a huge amount of attention from men in Abuja though I haven't given in to any because I think I'm still in love with my ex. I miss him a lot and I haven't found someone that I can share that kind of bond with.

I've been communicating constantly with my ex since we broke up, in fact I still tell him everything that goes on in my life including about my numerous toasters. He's been supportive although not financially. He tells me that he misses me too but unfortunately he can't sustain a relationship now because he can barely feed at the moment. He once told me that we're just casual friends and it hurt me to the extent that I nearly had sex with one of my toasters just to forget him but couldn't stand any guy touching me.

There's a man that has been on my neck for a while now, he's been helping me financially but I'm not attracted to him and I don't think I can date him. All my attempts to put him off has failed so far. He took me out for breakfast this morning when my ex called, he noticed I was with someone and insisted that I was in the guys place, I suggested a video call in order to convince him but the man wouldn't let me make the call. He got angry and almost caused a scene insisting I must tell him who he is to me, I was recording the conversation and forwarding to my ex who told me to stop playing games. He told me to either date the man if I want to or tell him plainly that I'm not interested.

I couldn't give the man an answer because I still need his help for the main time. My ex got angry and called me a confused and self centered person, he said I should go on and date the man just because he's my meal ticket just because I told him that the man has been the one feeding me.

The man on the other hand told me to tell my ex to stop disturbing me since we are no longer dating, he was visibly angry and wanted to call my ex to threaten him to hands off me. He still ended up giving me a modest amount of money after the whole fracas.

Now I don't know how to handle my ex, he hasn't told me that he wants me back and even if he does it might not work because he's broke at the moment and I will have to keep talking to other men which he doesn't like. I don't get intimate with any of them, I just friend zone them till they eventually give up and leave.

I need ideas on how to go about this issue please.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Have Underdeveloped Yoruba Land by weslay: 2:27pm On Oct 13, 2024
tundegan:
I think its time for Yoruba elites to start thinking of the possibility of a Yoruba nation.

The elites in the Nigeria union have exploited the masses for too long.
Which elites have exploited Nigeria? Is it not the same set of people you praise on here every day. Oga continue to praise them and leave Igboho to continue chasing shadows like IPOB. If Nigeria eventually disintegrates, a new set of elites will come in and continue from where these current set of greedy elites stopped.

Until Nigerians begin to hold it's politicians accountable nothing will change.

PoliticsRe: Why Nigerians Like EPL By South Africans by weslay: 5:03am On Oct 12, 2024
zhike:
Nigerians pls may you advise us, why do you like English premier league so much.
Don't you have Nigerian soccer league?
Or is the matter of inferior mindset you have of thinking everything European is better.

The reason I am asking this is because South Africans prefer their local league which is betway premier league. South Africans are patriotic.
Can Nigerians put their ego down and love their local league like south Africans.
Nigerians love football. Most Nigerians go out to watch street football in their area on Saturday mornings, watch football across European top leagues, but won't watch their own local league. The reason is corruption and mismanagement. The last time I went to Ogbe stadium in Benin to see a NPFL match, the referee gave three unjust penalties against the visiting team who were leading 1 nil at the 90th minute. Two of those penalties were converted and the home team won 2 goals to 1. All the protests from the away team fell on deaf ears and they were bullied out the stadium by the home supporters.

This is the reason why most Nigerians don't know the top goal scorer of their local league this past season, but they know the top ballers in their hood and the top goal scorers across European leagues.

A lot has improved since that time but our perception of the league hasn't changed much

Spot on... Most people don't know that Oshiomole is a force to reckon with in Edo State. His projects are still visible in Edo South and Edo North. So He is still very much liked and respected.

The problem most have with him is his decision to unseat Obaseki as governor in the APC primaries.

In terms of projects completed in the state Obaseki's performance is under par Vis a Vis that of Oshiomole

HealthRe: Family Alleges Negligence After Father’s Death At Oghara Teaching Hospital by weslay: 11:08pm On Sep 16, 2024
DrTee1:
We have to be careful as a people.

Already, our health workers are already greatly overworked. The conventional health workers we have left in this country are about the more patriotic ones who have chosen to stay back to help the system.

In a situation where we make claims like this against them because a relative "spent millions" despite being abroad, we may find health workers taking more steps to see fewer patients per time so as to give maximal attention.

You cannot be abroad and claim that health workers in Oghara were on social media when they should be attending to your recently deceased relative. You cannot be blaming them for performing last office rites and moving a corpse to the morgue as soon as certified dead.

This was a patient that spent two months in the hospital, according to you, and had a tracheostomy tube inserted, amongst other care. Clearly, that medical team was not quite negligent. No medical team can do all of that while being negligent.

A patient on a Tracheostomy tube is a Specialist/Consultant's responsibility, working in conjunction with a large team of other doctors who may also be specialists, alongside doctors in various levels of postgraduate training, aside undergraduate medical students. That's aside the Nurses and all other allied health workers that play a lot of roles.

It is not enough to make allusion to those cases that ended up as mortality and not make reference to the many cases that are treated and discharged. Indeed, cases that go to Teaching Hospitals are usually very bad cases that cannot be managed at Secondary level medical facilities, as demonstrated by the referral from the hospital in Sapele to the Teaching Hospital in Oghara.

While there may be indeed cases of negligence, the continued media, physical and verbal harassment of medical practitioners at various levels of practice in Nigeria doesn't bode well for our already friable medical structure.

As it is, many citizens present at the hospital very late, and in very bad conditions, after taking all manners of harmful substances over the years in that name of herbal concoctions as well as unhealthy lifestyles before presenting late in the hospital where the medical staff now have to undo the deed.

We must realise that the best way to treat any disease condition is to prevent it. Where matters are already very bad, regardless of how much is spent, the chances are not assured - not anywhere in the world, but especially worse in third world countries.

We should all be careful.
Anytime I remember my experience @LUTH sometime in 2018, I just weep for this nation. Most of the doctors/nurses lacked empathy. They behave as if they didn't want to be there. You literally had to beg before they attend to your patient even at critical times. Most times, I felt frustrated with the way they were handling my patient. It was so frustrating that I had to lash out on the doctors after my patient who had been prepped for surgery by 6pm and left unattended to for hours. After waiting endlessly, they came back at midnight and said the surgery cannot be performed as they had no oxygen and they made me sign that I have been advised to move my patient elsewhere after giving me a referral letter stating the condition. I had to start searching for a new hospital that could handle the condition that night. This was some minutes past midnight. All of the hospitals I visited from mainland to Island either had no bed or had no oxygen, or both. Until a doctor at one of the hospitals contacted a specialist in another hospital and he confirmed that they had oxygen and bed space. This was about 6am. That was how God saved the situation.

Generally, the health care system in Nigeria has failed just like every other MDA of government
