Car Talk / Re: Third Party Auto Insurance In Nigeria by wewe1(m): 12:21pm On Sep 27, 2013
I have always pay =N=5,000 for insurance on every of my vehicle paper renewal. Universal Insurance PLC is the current insurer on my vehicle paper.
I searched for it on the link you provided below is the response I got from the site.
Apparently, I am not Insured !!! undecided
On that note, how do I guide against this occurrence in the future? that bring me to the question you didn't answer.
Does it mean that I will have to pay for fake insurance during vehicle paper renewal and also pay for Scratch card from IEI or I should just exclude the insurance part in my next vehicle renewal payment then buy the insurance from IEI?
All vehicle owners, please visit Nigerian Industrial Insurance database (NIID). @ www.askniid.org

roxander, I really appreciate you for taking your time to provide this detailed explanation.
Most Nigerian motorists are not well versed on this important aspect of vehicle documentation and also insurance companies in the Nigeria have not done enough to educate and sensitize vehicle owners, all they care about is the quantum of customers they are able to grab like you pointed out, Most disturbing part is the unchecked proliferation of fake insurance companies aided by government agents (V I O, Road Safety etc).
In some states (Like Lagos) vehicle paper renewal is automated, you pay (third party Insurance included) in some designated banks and you are provided with a sticker for your vehicle. In other states (Like FCT) V I O or Road Safety Officer process it for you and you are provided with the papers (Third Party Insurance included) after payment.
Here is my question, do I pay for this paper renewal and also pay for Scratch card from IEI?
I would have sent a mail but I believe it is better discuss here so that other motorists can see it too.
Comments from motorists and experts in the house are welcome.
Thanks

Thanks to the moderator for putting this thread on front page cos first FTC (First To Comment) things is irrelevant without FP (Front Page) things.
Above All, Thanks to my die hard galaxy phone battery cos without it PHCN planned to truncate this experience but my phone came out victorious.

Ikenna351: @ we we,

So this was how the car was when it happened. Yes, you told me earlier about the incident, but i didnt quite get the pic until now.

I saw the car in front of your office few weeks ago. If not for the bonnet and fender with different colours to the body, i would have thought it wasnt your car. Whoever did that job must be good in what he does.

From the pictures, i could see that the chassis wasnt really affected. Peugeot maynot be the best brand, but they are so good in designing chassis. Anyone that knows the importance of good designed and strong chassis, would understand what i mean.

We thank God for you and your family.

Ikenna

Thank you very much, All glory to God. As agreed before the accident, I will bring car for scanning (though no error code whatsoever) and to reverse the fan system to factory setting. Will call you to book an appointment.

fresh_dude: You, my friend, are an imbècilic twàt. Why do you think he was asked the website of the outfit he represents, to make small talk? Foøl, I will educate you! Because the Nigerian public can get important, crucial and urgent information about the "operations" of the NSCDC without having to physically go to any office/post of theirs. And more urgently, because false NSCDC websites had sprung up and been used to scam and defraud Nigerians desperate for a job. Now, Mr. Maga, tell me, who better to clarify the official website of the NSCDC than Mr. Obafaiye? Don't bother with an answer.I agree it would because, stúpid people possess more intelligence than you to an infinite degree. How dare you derogatorily refer to anyone as stûpid? First of all, I don't "know all the websites." But "stùpidly" of you, you think those that do "do yahoo yahoo with it."

Truly your name is wee wee, atàwlé(atòólé).

seriously, don't patronise me cos first of all I am not interested and secondly I don't have the luxury of time. If your cerebral cortex couldn't process little information such as getting the job done, don't blame me cos I am not the cos of your predicament. THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING

fresh_dude: Please don't procreate until you acquire some percentage of common sense, many of our people are already daft as it is. Apparently, it's not your job to know the name and address of your place of work or personal business. Smch.

There goes another educated ignoramus who doesn't know the different btw getting the job done and knowing the smallest unrelated part of the job. If I called you stu..p..id that will be an insult to stu..p...id people. You that knows all websites...what are you doing with it ...Yahoo yahoo...

Does it really matter He was not employed to know NSCDC website, The most important thing is that he gets the job done.. that's all

Politics / Court Sentences Man To 45 Years Imprisonment For Stealing Governor's Handset by wewe1(m): 9:38am On Apr 30, 2013
A 31-year old ex-policeman, Kelvin Ighodalo
has been sentenced to 45-year imprisonment
by an Osogbo High Court for stealing a
N50,000 Sony Ericsson phone belonging to
Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Mr Ighodalo had stolen the phone from the
Governors pocket on November 27, 2010, when
he was being inaugurated at Government
Technical College, Osogbo.
Justice Oyejide Falola, who precided over the
case, found the accused guilty on six counts,
which included conspiracy, stealing and fraud.
Justice Falola thereafter sentenced Mr Ighodalo
to 10-year imprisonment for the first three
counts and five years for each of the last three
which included impersonation, obtaining
property by falsehood and collusion.
The Judge explained that the convict deserved
the sentence and held that the convict used the
phone to obtain N500, 000 from the Owa of
Ilesa, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, while he
obtained N200, 000 from Shengen Rahman, an
associate of the governor.
Mr Ighodalo will run the jail term concurrently
and so will only spend a total of 10 years in
prison.
During the hearing, the assistant principal state
counsel, Biodun Badiora, also disclosed that the
convict had served six-year imprisonment in Ikoyi
prison custody in connection with a murder case
in 2005.

Family / Re: Left-handedness In Children; Can It Be Corrected? by wewe1(m): 9:50am On Apr 03, 2013
My daughter is Lefty, I bless God for her, she is 2yrs 6 months today. I graciously watch her whenever she does things(write, pick up things etc) with her left hand . I love it, very facinating... I believe I was force from left to right hand cos I write my zero in clockwise mode despite the fact that I am righty. Normal righty writes zero anti- clockwise (try it now!). People normally make jest of me when they see me write zero. It was when my daughter starter using left that everything becomes crystal clear to me. I have started learning how to use my left to perform some task too, so that my daughter will feel comfortable using her left hand.
