Una see how big men dey help themselves? Petrol Na poor man dey use am subsidy removed. Before diesel was 850 now diesel costs as low as 650. Subsidy has been removed from petrol and transferred to diesel. Now poor people buy petrol almost the same price the rich men buy diesel to power their heavy duties and generators. |

Peppysco: You obviously don't have a basic knowledge of Economics or you just lack comprehension skills generally. If you took your time to understand the article, it clearly stated that short term inflationary pressure will occur but the reforms, at the same time, will improve capital formation as well as the balance of payments. If you understand what this means, it means that with proper implementation, the policies are all aimed at increasing national output as well as increasing employment opportunities, and many other long term economic benefits. But, bad belle will not let you people see road. Na wetin una wan chop now now una dey always dey find, no plan for the future, na why Obi and other past and present Eastern governors nor fit do any long term, revenue, employment and FDI generating plans for una because they all lack foresight. A better Nigeria that patriotic citizens wish for wouldn't just come within a month or two, we all understand it's a work in progress and we'll all weather the storm together to ensure it is a reality. But for those that chose to be the enemies of the state, you all can cry all you want, but when the food don ready, una self go chop inside, nobody go cheat una. Is it Tinubu that will do all these? |

Just look at the North, they are afraid to fight Niger, and look at the yorubas they have all gone silent the moment they realised that North would not fight against Niger. If the war was to be against Benin Republic would yhe yorubas have championed it the same way they did against Niger? The answer is no! Now you all know how many countries the Igbos fought against during Biafran war and the Igbos then was just Two states! Always Respect Igbos! Them no be your Papa Mate!

adolfHitler1934: You must be an Ikwerre man. This is one of the reasons the Ikwerres dislikes the Igbos. He hates the Igbos not for any other reason but because of this domineering attitude. He comes in little by little, eats into your communal system, then he strikes. He calls you lazy, unproductive and wretched.
Igbos should change this attitude because it makes other tribes lose trust and also hate them. Bros you are a prophet. You got this spot on. My village is about 4 kilometres away from Nyesom Wike Rumuepirikom.. My village which is largely Ikwerre culture sees every stranger living among us as an ambassador of his ethnic group. When we share things in the presence of strangers we see them as kings of their respective communities and for this reason once we honour our king and his council the next are the strangers among us. |

Belleful: Just negodu!! Did your community give him the land? Because the judgment said he is free to stay which nobody stopped him. The community still have the powers not to give him a land. We gave him. The judgment said he having stayed that number of years should be seen not only as a bonafide citizen but also deserving of all entitlements of the second most senior person in the community and should he by age become the eldest be given the mandate of the paramount ruler. Whoever that put that State of Origin in the constitution did my minority community a favour. |

It is a good development but I hope it won't end up the way the one in my community ended up. We had an Igbo person staying among us before the war. My community had a custom where a stranger no matter his age is given a share just after the titleholders. This is to recognise his community in our midst and not necessarily the individual. We treated every stranger among us then as ambassador of their various homeland. The Igbo man stayed in my community for so long that by age he became the second eldest man. When my community wanted to share farmland he was given where they used to give to him even when we had so many people his seniors, this time around the Igbo man rejected. He said he must be recognised as the second eldest man in the community and by that should be given such share as it was deserving and due of the second eldest man. This demand would put him among the titleholders. It was unheard of and an abomination for a stranger to be given such position. Surprisingly before my community could say Jack Robinson and adjust to this rude shock, the man had gone to court. He claimed that by the constitution of Nigeria that having stayed in my community for more than 10 years that it was enough to make him a bonafide citizen of the community. To cut the episode short the ruling was in his favour. It was rightly so. Although the magistrate and everyone that presided over the case were Igbos. The Igbos were effectively in charge of the Eastern Government. This was happening in the present day Rivers State. My community learnt their lesson via that case and to be frank the man ran from the community when Port Harcourt fell to the Federal troops during the Nigeria Biafran Civil War and never came back even after the war. |

Politics › The Wrong Signal Sent In Cutting Power Supplies To Niger Republic by Whalis(op): 10:18am On Aug 03, 2023 |
Whoever that advised Nigeria to cut off power supplies to Niger Republic in order to compel the military junta there to relinquish power has done more harm to the diplomatic image of Nigeria than good. Some of these countries that River Niger traverses were asked not to build hydrodam so that the one in Nigeria will have enough water torque to turn the power turbines in Kainji Dam. Niger Republic is one of those countries and had to rely on Nigeria for power supplies. Cutting them off and thereby affecting the generality of Niger people is another form of coup. It is the same as few persons taking action that affect the generality of people and mostly adversely. This is a breach of diplomacy. The agreement doesn't have such provision to cut off supply to Niger should military be in power. It will be recalled that the same government of Nigeria borrowed huge some of money which is about running Nigeria to insolvency and bankruptcy to construct a rail line to link Nigeria Lagos to Niger Maradi. The purpose of this is to encourage Niger to import through Nigeria instead of other countries they use. This according to the then Minister of Transportation R.C. Amaechi would create revenue and jobs for Nigerians. The question is if you could cut off power supplies I had an agreement with you what about the rail you unilaterally constructed? This action of cutting off power has opened up the wary and suspicious eyes of not only Niger but other countries which depend in Nigeria for some critical utilities like power. There will be no surprises when some of these countries start to build their hydro-dams in violation of agreement they had with Nigeria with full technical and manpower assistance from Russia. |

priceactionx: You didn't add, he was rigged in , in rivers state. But sentiments apart,
It was his allies machineries that helped him in the north especially the governors and some law makers.
In Nigeria, if you want to win presidential election, and leave minor glitches out of it, you need to win many states and get very close margin in where you loose.
That's the beauty of democracy. You loose some, you win many, and it has to spread all over regions regardless of your party affiliations. Failure to do that, will find it difficult win.
And remember he was being voted against in osun because of new opposition in the affairs of governance. You don't expect adeleke to work for him after what he went through. Then in Lagos, that's the state he is hated most, and you know the reasons.
I believe that's part of why he is keeping elrufai and ganduje. Yes, he lost their states but the margin is slim.
And if he refuses to keep them, he will have problems there. They are agent of propaganda especially elrufai. Quite unfortunate. |

Politics › Are There No Longer Provision For Local Consumption? by Whalis(op): 4:44am On Aug 01, 2023 |
There is no country on planet earth that sells everything she produces to the international market and leaves her citizens to buy same product she has sold to the international market from the international market. In those days I heard that NNPC set aside 445000 barrels of crude oil daily for local consumption. These were refined into different products to be sold locally. Tinubu and his friends in governance benefitted this gesture of governance. You can't sell a product you have an advantage on and expose your citizens to the disadvantages of those who do not have. Are there no products kept aside for local consumption? What has happened to this policy? Is this the policy that Tinubu removed? |

I voted SDP by the way.. There is no country on planet earth that sells everything she produces to the international market without a provision for local consumption and then encourage her citizens to buy from the avarice of international price. |
