Events / Christians and Muslims unite with FoodClique to feed the community by whizqueen(f): 12:40am On Jun 18, 2018
Hunger has no religion and religious affiliations were put aside as both Christians and Muslims came together to ensure people in need were fed.

After a month of providing iftar to fasting Muslims to break their fast and distributions of non-perishable food items of rice, garri, noodles, milk, spaghetti, and Tomato paste to over 3000 people this Ramadan, FoodClique concluded their #Ramadan2018 with an Eid Feast for over 500 people.

Too many people because of poverty and tough economic situations what to eat would have been a major problem on Eid Fitr but Thankfully to God, volunteers and FoodClique that was not the case as they all ate and went home with take away... :DLol

This Ramadan program is one of the many programs they do to reduce hunger. Other programs by FoodClique are a community kitchen, family Meal, free school meals, waste for food, backpack, bag of hope for destitute etc.

Events / Re: Hon Jimi Benson Hosts CEO Of Foodclique At Icare Foodbank- End Hunger In Nigeria by whizqueen(f): 12:03am On Jun 18, 2018
Ijeshalomo:
Why don't we imbibe the good way that every individual will appreciate? Why do we like to encourage stomach infrastructure? For how long will you feed people.

Teach them how to plant and produce food. Rent out tractors and farming machinery out at subsidized rate. Eating is not our problem. Don't humiliate us in this country. We are not as worst as this.

Youths going into farming are not reverting their acrion. Why can't you get them cheap lands, storage facilities for the farm produce?

Since I was young, our agric teacher taught me the major problem of agriculture in Nigeria. Till date we have never seen changes. Lack of storage facilities, lack of accessible road, etc. Your organisation could have taken one of this problem and proved solutions rather than pouring cups of water inside an ocean.

We like eye service in this part of the world. Lay down a good legacy and your name would remain. Your food program will die and your name will never ring bell.

When you empower youths, the beneficiaries will be the one to talk good about you. Now it is in your court to now decide if you still want to go ahead with your food infrastructure program.

Thanks

There are several Youth empowerment programs going on, some are govt owned and some are supported by NGOs/Philanthropists. A lot of youths have taken advantage of the opportunities but are unable to apply some of the skills they were taught because the environment is not enabling. It's easy to say 'teach a man to fish' but what if the skill I can teach you is of no interest to you? or if you can't finance or sustain it?

If every one of us tries to feed at least one hungry persons out there don't you think there will only be a very insignificant number of hungry people left? As a matter of fact, a hungry person cannot learn a skill. A hungry person is prone to the thoughts of attempting suicide, theft and other vices.

Events / Hon Jimi Benson Hosts CEO Of Foodclique At Icare Foodbank- End Hunger In Nigeria by whizqueen(f): 10:14pm On Apr 11, 2018
In the spirit of unity and camaraderie to ending hunger, Hon. Jimi Benson representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State played host to the Founder and CEO of FoodClique Bolajoko Fadipe during icare Food Bank monthly food distribution tagged "Apo Anu " to over 500 vulnerable people in Ikorodu.

FoodClique Support Initiative is an NGO leading the fight against hunger while icare Food Bank seek to erase hunger through several initiatives to help people in need.  The Icare Foodbank gives sacks of non-perishable food to the vulnerable in our society i.e elderly, widows, unemployed, e.t.c and encourages the government to mobilize resource to fight hunger through its founder Hon Jimi Benson who is a Federal Lawmaker. It may interest you to know that the Icare Food Bank has through this program fed over 15,000 constituents.

Bolajoko Fadipe who recently returned to Nigeria after participating at the 13th Presidents United to Solve Hunger (PUSH) Summit at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign with the theme "Unify for a Hunger-free World". The Campus Kitchens Projects 5th Annual Food Waste & Hunger Summit at IUPUI Indiana USA eulogize Hon Jimi Benson before presenting a certificate of appreciation to him for being the first lawmaker in Nigeria to establish a food bank. He thanked him for putting aside partisan politics in the fight against hunger and poverty in Nigeria through his partnership with anti hunger advocates. Stating further he said "we are counting on Hon Jimi Benson  and we call on all members of the House of Representatives to remain committed to the longstanding bi-partisan conviction that nobody in this country should go hungry"

In his acceptance speech, Hon Jimi Benson said,  "among my campaign promises was to set up a food bank, bring developments to Ikorodu, sponsor bills that tackles hunger and work with initiatives like FoodClique because this exemplifies the kind of public-private partnerships between the private sector and government that has great promise of delivering help effectively to people in need.

The visit was followed by a tour of the facility of icare FoodBank and a press conference where Hon Jimi Benson announced that he will sponsor new legislation to reduce food insecurity, food waste, and poverty

Food / Cantagali Limited Partners Foodclique On Hunger Eradication by whizqueen(f): 1:48pm On Feb 28, 2018
Emerging real estate firm, Cantagali Limited, in conjunction with FoodClique Support Initiative today embark on a hunger eradication campaign tagged “Fighting Hunger Together” aimed at feeding school children in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos Mainland and other parts of Lagos State as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

FoodClique, a domestic hunger-relief NGO will provide nutritious snacks and weekly food rations for pre-school to basic two school children across nine schools as an emergency safety net and help ensure that children, particularly girls receive the education to which they are entitled.

Since inception, FoodClique has built partnerships with diverse bodies ranging from private to the public sector and it is worthy of note that the grant from Cantagali is the largest donation received to support their free school meal program and help provide food assistance to families who spend most of their income on foods, break out of the vicious cycle of illiteracy, hunger, and poverty.

In reaction to this great development at launch of the campaign at St John RCM School Ayeteju Ibeju Lekki, Founder and CEO of FoodClique Bolajoko Fadipe said “We believe that it is of utmost importance for businesses to engage with the communities they operate so we are honoured to partner with Cantagali to leverage its expertise, resources, and leadership to help drive our vision of a country without hunger.

Explaining further, Bolajoko stated, “we are excited and will like to thank Cantagali Limited for their commitment and support in the fight against hunger because our free school meal programme is an investment in education, and also aimed at complementing efforts of the government and help close the hunger gap among future generations”. The package to be distributed includes but not limited to energy-rich biscuits, fruit drinks, milk, and noodles while the backpack will contain Rice, Garri, Noodles, Spaghetti, Corn Flakes and Biscuit to serves as a further incentive for the students every Friday.

In response to the development, the MD/CEO of Cantagali Limited, Mr. Basheer Tosin Ashafa said “Through this partnership with FoodClique, we are demonstrating our alignment with Goal 2 of the Sustainable Development Goals. We are also committed to the vision of FoodClique Support Initiative since their activities are in line with our company's values. Children in rural areas deserve the same opportunities as their urban counterparts and Learning on a full stomach is a plan that must be executed well.”

Tosin Ashafa further promised to give the body all the necessary support needed during and after the exercise.

Events / Do You Know You Can Pledge Your Birthday To Fight Hunger? - Foodclique by whizqueen(f): 2:22pm On Feb 12, 2018
All children are born equal and have the same basic needs, but many kids in our community do not have access to the essential fundamental needs of man; FOOD.

We all have a birthday, and nothing will be more satisfying than to give back to combat hunger on your special day. This year, instead of creating a wish list of birthday presents, you can mark your birthday by partnering with FoodClique to give food and hope to children battling hunger.

At FoodClique, we encourage kind-hearted individuals to spend their birthdays with kids, elderly ones, the disabled or less privileged in the society. Doing this isn't meant to be an act of show-off, but an attempt at appreciating life and experiencing what others go through just to survive.

Guess what? We can work with your budget. Isn't that amazing? The content of your pocket or how much food you can donate means nothing to us because what matters is the intention of your heart and the willingness to give. A gift to FoodClique Support is a unique way to celebrate your birthday or commemorate a special occasion for someone.

To pledge your birthday in partnership with Foodclique, follow this simple steps below:

*visit our website www.foodclique.org

*go to the Get Involved page

*click on Pledge your birthday.

You can equally skip this steps and just contact us right away cheesy wink info@foodclique.org

Aduramigba Fadipe one of the youngest volunteers in FoodClique Pledged her Birthday to end hunger by feeding over 250 kids at Okobaba Area of Lagos. Ofcourse sponsored by her parents, but You can also do the same.

Events / FoodClique Feeds Over 1000 Residents of Ebute Meta - Community Kitchen by whizqueen(f): 10:37pm On Jan 31, 2018
Hunger is a global challenge and at FOODCLIQUE we distribute food to the less privileged.

Our January Community Kitchen Activity which holds every last Saturday of the month at different selected suburbs in Lagos. Where we give food out during our Community Kitchen, there are people who tell us how thankful they are, because they were so close to doing the unexpected just to eat. This program which was launched as part of our activities at FOODCLIQUE in October and it has always been a source of hope to many as they come out in mass monthly to eat from our Pot. Also, Volunteers like me, Donors and Advocates come out to support our fight towards Hunger.

The Community Kitchen was a great way to start off the year and make the world a little brighter for Kids, the Aged ones and many others who were facing hunger. It was held last Saturday 27th January 2018 at Frajend Garage, Osholake Street Ebutte Metta. It was sponsored by Cantagali and Share Your Bread. We hope to get more sponsors and donors all through the rest of the year.
