d speaking part was kinda funny tho coz I didn't prepare ...d first part was on shopping, advertisement so it was pretty cool... d cue card part was 'I shld describe any experience I've had in traffic...and of course part 3 was all on traffic matters...

d writing essay was on d 'current and future effects d of ever-increasing population of children below 15 in some countries. (paraphrased tho) a bit tricky I must say..

So finally I'm able to post in the famous IELTS thread . Had my speaking test on the 21st and other components on the 25th. Generally, I have 3 comments to make; 1) For those about to register/make payment, online payment is very feasible albeit quite tricky. First, you need to use an atm machine to obtain an INTERNET PIN (I-Pin) for your Visa or Mastercard. This is the very pin you'd use when the portal requests payment. I used Access Bank and it worked just fine . 2) My second IELTS test is set for 7:00am on the 25th, the last Saturday, at National Arts Theatre, Iganmu. Considering this is a sanitation day, I wonder if there's anywhere to lodge at the venue a day before, because I dont live in Lagos (staying at Ajah with a friend though). 3) Are there any Chevening/Commonwealth applicants in the house? @whyna did you apply for any of these two?

My pleasure. What would be needed depends on what the new criteria set is. For the last strategic initiative that was put on hold since 2013, the process is summarized below.

1. You send an application with you CV to them, if it is succesful
2. They send you a mail with a form and you are supposed to mail the filled form back with your CV and IELTS. Since IELTS or Toefle will be required at any of the streams, you can register and write it now. If you are successful with this;
3. You will be invited to Manitoba for what they call an exploratory visit. You are supposed to be interviewed at the end of this and if you are successful;
4 You will be issued invitation to apply. You will use this to apply on their portal attaching supporting documents like credentials, the invitation to apply and proof of funds among others. If this is processed and you are successful;
5, You will be issued LOA (letter of authority) nominating you as their nominee. This is what you will use to apply to Federal/CIC as provincial nominee.
6. Application to Federal for permanent resident.

It is hard to speculate but when they re open, we will know if thier are options for people who do not have ties (have anyone) in the province.
