As for how to pray and where to pray, You should read Matthew 6 vs 1 - 15 for the answers you seek. According to Jesus Christ, you are meant to pray in hiding where no one can see or hear you praying - in your closet or anywhere where people cannot see or know that you are praying.

The prayers you offer in your churches ,in full view of others are in disobedience of God's commandment aka sin against God.

I think Jesus' statement there refers to praying from the heart/mind, from a conscious place of quietness. If you relate the human mind to an echo chamber, you'd realize it's usually a quite place until thoughts start to send vibrations and it just goes on and on till you can quite it again. I think in my opinion, that is what Christ is saying. Like praying in meditation.
