I did. If your brain wasn't rabies-infested, you'd have noticed..

I should also add I should actually read articles. Lemme see, from the first paragraph

article in op: (Phys.org) —The universe may have existed forever, according to a new model that applies quantum correction terms to complement Einstein's theory of general relativity. The model may also account for dark matter and dark energy, resolving multiple problems at once.
And y'all are blabbing about how BB is now being proposed as being wrong. I wonder how much more I'd spot if I bothered to read a few more paragraphs, hmm?

BTW, you surely cannot tell me that as a scientist, you do not know of concepts like say effective theories? Or are you just a (shemeless) 'scientist'?

Oh! and just a quick note

davidylan:
you havent been thinking this through at all. the BB theory claims it took a spark to set the universe off... this theory predicts that the earth/universe had no begining at all... i.e. no spark was required whatsoever. So the two sentences you have up there make no sense.

^^^To be fair, no Nigerian leader has done more to harm the gay community than GEJ. Buhari hasn't said anything particularly bad concerning homosexuals and didn't persecute them when he was head of state. Besides, Osibanjo is a constitutional lawyer so he's probably our best chance of getting that law stricken off.

One way or the other sha, GEJ has to go. Nigerians have to start punishing rubbish leaders if we are ever going to progress. If we keep rewarding incompetence who knows where we'll end up.
GMB will also have a weary international community watching. If he wants their support he'll have to play nice, so there's that too. Of course he could go semi-'axis of evil' should he choose to.

That said, yes, he doesn't seem like the type that enjoys kicking the underdog's teeth in actually. Provided they kept to themselves he very likely won't bother, at all sef. GEJ, on the other hand, in his bid to look tough went down that silly path instead of say facing BH. Can't wait for the clown to leave.

GMB brings a lot of baggage. For instance, I fear for say ho.mosex.uals if he ascends. But GEJ, oh GEJ

Where to even begin.... It's too much.....

Perhaps, being fair to GEJ, he's all round completely clueless. ie, he's as incompetent at highlighting his successes as he is at recognizing his glaring missteps. Perhaps it's not been all bad. However, the bad is real pronounced... And like the article notes, the good likely is in spite of him, not because of him

At the end of the day though, we get the government we deserve.... We support these clowns...

True that. The proliferation of reason is always a beauty to behold
For a while yesterday this was the top article on the guardian

guardian: Stephen Fry calls God an ‘evil, capricious, monstrous maniac’
Comedian delivers tirade on Irish TV programme when asked what he would say to the almighty at the gates of heaven

Stephen Fry has denounced God as “utterly evil, capricious and monstrous”, if he were to exist.

The comedian’s attack on the notion of a deity will be heard on an Irish religious affairs programme on Sunday night.

A brief clip of Fry on RTE television’s The Meaning of Life on Sunday has already caused as storm on Youtube with over 2m views even before broadcast.

On the short clip, Fry is asked by veteran Irish TV presenter Gay Byrne what he would say to God if he died and had to confront him.

In his imaginary conversation with God, Fry says he would tell him: “How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault? It’s not right.

“It’s utterly, utterly evil. Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain?”

Pressed by Byrne over how he would react if he was locked outside the pearly gates, Fry says: “I would say: ‘bone cancer in children? What’s that about?’

“Because the God who created this universe, if it was created by God, is quite clearly a maniac, utter maniac. Totally selfish. We have to spend our life on our knees thanking him?! What kind of god would do that?”

On how to explain the wonders of the world, Fry then launches an another attack on all seeing, all knowing God creator.

“Yes, the world is very splendid but it also has in it insects whose whole lifecycle is to burrow into the eyes of children and make them blind. They eat outwards from the eyes. Why? Why did you do that to us? You could easily have made a creation in which that didn’t exist. It is simply not acceptable.

“It’s perfectly apparent that he is monstrous. Utterly monstrous and deserves no respect whatsoever. The moment you banish him, life becomes simpler, purer, cleaner, more worth living in my opinion.”
What I like the most though are the comments. I wonder if the rest of europe don tire as well...

Granted, guardian has a reputation for being 'liberal' and 'progressive', so you'd expect most of their users to hold such positions. Therefore, even in the UK alone, this might not be the prevalent zeitgeist

TV/MoviesRe: Top 20 Strongest Naruto Characters. Do You Agree With The List? by wiegraf:
Feraz:
Dude easy please. grin

I do not quite agree with your putting Kabuto before Itachi and Kakashi, even your Madara before Hamura. It's your list though. Here's mine -

1. Kaguya Ootsutsuki (even though she was wasting chakra for a villain of her caliber. This could be due to the fact that she didn't know ninjutsu cos it was learnt centuries after her demise)
2. Hagoromo and Hamuta Ootsutsuki.
3. Uchiha 'Rikodou' Madara (best villain ever)
4. Uzumaki Naruto
5. Uchiha Sasuke
6. Ashura/Indra (not leaving out Toneri - this is because Kishi is involved with the production and story of the final movie unlike previous ones)
7. Uchiha Obito (after he became the juubi's jinchuuriki)
8. Senju Hashirama
9. Senju Tobirama
10.Sarutobi Hizuren
11.Namikaze Minato
12. Nagato
13.Jiraiya (even Itachi agreed that both he and Kisame will die should they face this guy)
14.Itachi
15.Kakashi
16.Kabuchimaru (this idiot did not use his powers well too)
17.Onoki
18.Kinkaku and Ginkaku
19.Muu/Nidaime Mizukage
20.Sandaime Raikage

Interesting write up though. . .

Decent 1-12 IMO, though the order is debatable.

Eg, If naruto was using flying thunder God in last chapter then he basically became a teleporting army. Not sure though, likely just a body flicker. Still, ftg or not, can't tell if final form madara is more powerful than final naruto, I'd have it as a draw.

Tobirama was a god killer (literally, his techniques were the ones used to beat kaguya, minus the sealing), but minato was supposedly tobirama 2.0, so one could argue over having him above tobirama, especially as his brief peak form possessed jinchuuruki. He was also a sage, etc

Madaras bro was supposedly powerful too, but if we're talking peak forms, he never got eternal mangekyou, so yeah

Etc etc

12 onwards is a free for all, though I'd have itachi in the elite bracket, above jiraya and the rest. Methinks he lies when he says he can't handle jiraya; they'd always been allies. He did all he could to protect konoha, killing jiraya certainly doesn't count as protecting konoha

In any good mango power rankings should be debatable imo, making them less predictable, more reasonable, etc. Thats not necessarily the problem here though, Kishi is also way too inconsistent. Nigh on making ranking powah levels impossible. Remember when kakashi knew over 1000 techniques? I'm not sure I'd place him in a top 50 sef these days. Maybe top not so secret perv; he's always reading icha icha tactics, no?

Hmmm, they made another movie? Brb

Christianity EtcRe: True Story: I Am Discriminated Because Am A Muslim by wiegraf: 12:52am On Jan 20, 2015
Hello op! I love how you simplify stuff and make it seem like people 'discriminate' against Islam solely because we think you all terrorists.

It's a lot more subtle than that, and you ALL support this nonsense, tacitly or no.

Eg, not too long my good muslim friends, educated, kindly and all, told me that had my father wished, he could have had me killed for being an apostate. And he would have been right.

They were serious and, as far as Islamic doctrine is concerned, their views are valid.

I asked them what of the reverse? What if their parents were atheist and had them killed for converting to Islam? Their answer? "That's a different scenario"

This is just the tip of Islamic folly. You think yourselves special. Special rules for just special you.

Silly insidious posts like these only tell half of the story.

Well, they might not be insidious per say, as no matter how much gloss and make up you apply, Islam's core philosophy inevitably rears it's unparalleled (in the modern world), ugly head, so you're not deceiving that many people.

Stop asking or suggesting people tolerate intolerance. Until you really show you are ready to join the rest of us in the 21'st century, you should expect many to be justifiably weary of your nonsense. Or you could, you know, simply remain in your caves. Keep your cancer to yourselves, instead of displaying your hypocrisy so proudly.

Kind regards.

Islamphobia my nyash. lol.

What of the electric chair? Even a hanged man? You'd be wearing a chain of a hanged man? What if he'd been stoned to death, sharia/old law style? The cross is wrong on so many levels but people don't notice because it's ubiquitous.

I'd personally love for a giant robot to have killed jesus. Or godzilla

Greece was atrocious in those Euros. Can't believe they won. And Chelsea has always tended to be very defensive, especially against serious opponents. They almost always have two vicious defensive midfielders on the pitch.
Hm? You work with what you get, and that with that particular magician, it was no fluke. Oga Otto has taken a club that he had just promoted from the second divsion to win the Bundesliga. Immediately. One season.

At the Euros he was being prudent, flexible, intelligent. They outscored their opposition (else they wouldn't have won the tournament, no?), so there were goals and attacking intent, not just bus parking. Winning the competition whilst beating the hosts, which featured a burgeoning Ronaldo, twice.

It was intelligent, organized football, and intelligent football is just as beatiful to watch as gung ho recklessness. Note, there's a difference between intelligent football and "lop the ball to Drogba/Crouch/Carrol" (which, I've admitted, is what Mourinho resorted to eventually). Ask the Italians, especially.

If you want entertainment strictly, y'all should hire Bielsa, no? I mean, he's Pep's hero. But despite all the rep, that man has never won a single trophy in Europe... Another dogmatic purist? Wenger.... Klopp has been at least (very) successful recently, but after having lost 10 in 17 so far, his response? More of the same after the break.... (Pep, on the other hand, once famously resorted to long balls to deal with Dortmund's pressing <- that's called flexibility)

Actually, you've done so recently, in a sense. First half of last season you were picking up points everywhere whilst playing well even. However, the focus on possession had been diminished. What happened? Your board (and quite a few fans) whined. Whined. Whined. Identity, culture, crises. "Barcelona are winning but are not the Barcelona that pass you to sleep anymore", etc etc. Tata had to change the tactics. The rest, leading up to Barca today, is history. (of course, plus Neymar's papa's orgy)

But that's not why I write this tome actually. I'm just puzzled, I need to start paying attention to how I look and such. Someone just gave me 50 bucks unsolicited... WTF, is that how it works?

What lies am i peddling here or is something wrong with your brain ?
Err, I should be the one asking that, good ser. Even your first statement is a blatant lie;you say after so many letters when it was just the one. And the question wasn't even directly about god per say, as already pointed out, whilst his response certainly wasn't. It was about religiosity. You do realise believing in GOD!? is not a prerequisite to being religious, yes?

And all the talk of the man being moved; no. He was well-known for responding to just about as many letters as he could manage. He even replied a ten year old about her math skills! These exercises where more or less a hobby to him, just as it is to many introverts of his flavor. Though he could be garrulous with friends, he was not so much with strangers. In his ias days he was even notorious for claiming he had travelled in order to escape having to deal with visitors. Writing, on the other hand, he was prolific at. So again no, not necessarily moved like you imply, just a textbook response from him. One of myriad

Your whole tone, your ignoring context, twisting of events to make it look like he somehow identifies with your version of god, no doubt a personal sky daddy, is blatantly dubious. You even ignore his last statement where he makes it clear he speaks of religiosity. As already noted he found sky daddies childish, and that's just beginning. He's gone as far as saying people who break away from the shackles of personal gods are special. Implying, of course, he didn't think much of your ilk.

So yes, you are lying and twisting the mans words to fit your agenda. That's disgusting, bros, and desperate. Only ways you get a pass is if you were ignorant of these (and (mind, to a lesser degree) or you don't believe in personal gods. Otherwise, well, its all been said

Impeccable taste, huh? Chelsea have only been playing classy football since August last year.

Money is money. The ban will pass soon and it'll be back to business as usual. Messi can leave if he wants. It'll be refreshing to see him in the EPL. I don't see him playing at Chelsea for long tho.
a purist have we? remind me again; which club has scored the most goals in a premiership season? also, Spain. which club holds that record there and who was managing it at the time?

and defensive rigor can be just as beautiful as offensive flair. eg, I really enjoyed Greece circa 2004 and told anyone who would listen they would win the tournament. early mourinho Chelsea was just as good; excellent, solid at the back, brimming with menace when going forward. eg Robben used to leave defenders flying into billboards. eventually mourinho devolved into just launch the ball forward, which I agree is ugly. but solid, counter attacking football? no, never.

in fact, it's even more risky than what barca minus Messiah and Spain do. pass, pass, pass. sideways always. safe always. then when the opponents, stadium and millions watching at home are half asleep, attempt a forward pass and hope for the best.

on a serious note, Messiah actually leaves? y'all in trouble.

Jose is just dreadful.
Ah, but sometimes his sheer obnoxiousness is part of his charm. Sometimes...

That said, as a barca fan

guardian uk: Luis Enrique was still at Barcelona last night. How long for, no one knows, and there were certainly no guarantees, but if they carry on like this in Catalonia he may well end up the only one left. After a week in which Barça sacked their sporting director, Andoni Zubizarreta, and Carles Puyol left the club, and less than a month since the director general was sacked, the president, Josep María Bartomeu, announced Luis Enrique will continue as the coach. But he also announced the presidential election will be brought forward a year to this summer. In other words, no one’s future is secure – least of all his own.

And what, everyone wanted to know, of Lionel Messi, the man who has stood silently at the heart of the gathering storm over the last few days? It is his departure that concerns them. Many fans want others to leave; Messi leaving frightens them.

Late on Wednesday night the player had still not spoken; his manager and his president had, but their words did little to calm the crisis. Only one thing was clear: there will be elections in the summer. They will be a curious affair: Fifa’s one-year ban on Barcelona signing anyone means this will not be about promises of the world’s best players coming to Camp Nou. The question will be reformulated: which candidates can ensure that the world’s best player will not leave Camp Nou?

This week Messi followed Chelsea on Instagram( note; the man has impeccable taste ), a small, insignificant detail that, in the context of crisis, appeared a significant one. His actions have been interpreted by many as a power play but he is clearly unhappy. It has been coming for a while. Messi is a difficult player to manage and his relationship with the board has been strained for a long time. He publicly described one director as “a man who knows nothing about football”. But this time the fault-line lies in the dressing room.

The deterioration in the relationship between Luis Enrique and Messi has become a very public issue after the Argentinian was left out of the 1-0 defeat at Real Sociedad on Sunday. Messi, like Neymar and Dani Alves, had returned from his winter break just two days before and two days later than his team-mates – as agreed by the club, and as he has done in the past. Messi then missed an open training session on Monday, arranged annually for children to attend on the eve of Kings Day, the equivalent of Christmas Day. A club statement later said that he was suffering from gastroenteritis. With unfortunate timing, it came three days after the club captain, Xavi Hernández, had admitted in an interview that “gastroenteritis” is often the public excuse that hides other issues.

Reports then emerged that Messi had confronted Luis Enrique on Friday and again on Sunday, that the coach had wanted to take disciplinary action against him, and that they no longer talk. Messi was reported to have effectively issued Barcelona with an ultimatum of his own. The club’s captains were trying to intervene to calm the tension between coach and star player. At last, on Wednesday, the club spoke. First, the coach. Luis Enrique repeatedly refused to “confirm or deny” those reports although he did say at one point “some of them not true”, and he certainly did nothing to protect Messi from suggestions that he had argued with the coaching staff or had refused to train. Then, with his final remark, he hinted heavily that Messi had broken from collective principles that he considers fundamental. “I do not talk about what happens in the dressing room or the training ground; what happens there, stays there,” he said

, but the questions kept coming. Asked if he talks to Messi, Luis Enrique replied: “I speak to all of them of, course, some more than others.” How many individual meetings had he had with Messi? “I don’t know how many I have had, or not had.” Asked if he thought Messi wants to stay, he replied: “I’m not the right person to answer that.

“I do not treat all of my players the same, just as I do not treat all of my children the same,” he said. “I have negotiated things with the players. On some things I have been permissive and on some I have been demanding. There are some rules that everyone must follow. That is one of my principles.”
Fernando Torres finally beats Real with in second Atlético debut

It is a principle he may yet fall by. Taking on Messi is not an approach likely to ensure longevity at the club. He admitted that the sacking of Zubizarreta had “weakened” his position and he did little to assuage fears that his relationship with Messi had broken down; in fact, much of what he said confirmed the avalanche of reports that have talked of confrontation and discontent, of Messi issuing a threat: “Him or me”.

A few hours later, Bartomeu appeared. He confirmed that Luis Enrique was continuing as manager, denied delivering him an ultimatum and insisted that it was not true that the coach had wanted to begin disciplinary procedures against the No10. He also insisted that Messi is not for sale and has a contract, but here the conviction faltered. He could not and would not state categorically that Messi will stay or even that he was confident that the Argentinian wishes to stay. “I think he is happy. I don’t say that because I am sitting down having a coffee with him, although we have spoken,” said the president. “I say that because you can see it on the pitch, in the way he was playing.”

As arguments go it was not the most convincing. Even less so was his explanation for Zubizarreta’s sacking and the promise to send a “hard letter” to Sepp Blatter and to take on Fifa over the club’s transfer ban.

By the end of a 75-minute press conference, the second of an extremely long day in Barcelona after Luis Enrique had spoken earlier, Bartomeu looked exhausted, his voice strained. He has been in the post for less than a year, having replaced Sandro Rosell who resigned amid the scandal of the Neymar signing.

He would have liked to hang on longer but the pressure became too much; he is calling elections to “ease the tension surrounding the club”. He will soon be on his way, too. He did not confirm if he would stand but most expect him to. He is extremely unlikely to win. “I don’t think the image of the club is so bad,” he said. But increasingly, Barcelona supporters believe it is and that is why he was forced into a corner and must now call a club election.
His wife is BFF with Cesc's wife, their kids have play dates and all that. Also, better (somewhat benign) Russian oligarch money than Sheikh slave money IMO. Just state your price and free the poor guy.

This is a chat thread, oh genius. Read, carefully and slowly (though I understand that may be difficult for you); chat

It is not meant to house simply serious discussions. Again, chat. Anything goes. Please, I hope that is clear and simple enough for even such an accomplished halfwit as yourself.

Now, as for that post, I was simply pointing out that your grammar is off. Fairly ridiculous considering the general tone of your post and your alleged 'superiority'. And don't use qwerty as an excuse; it's not the sole instance of your folly. For instance, in your previous post, you use the word 'disapointedly' when you should have used the word 'disappointingly'. What exactly is a 'wordy evidence' abeg? Indeed, I don't think you know what the word 'intelligible', which you use more than once, means, as you seem to be implying that we're stoopid not indecipherable. Two different things. Now, do tell, which of those terms do you think is associated with intelligibility, hmmmm? etc etc

This is the surface of the folly you exhibit with less than 10 sentences. 90%+ of the people you criticize so wantonly could write a nice, long thesis on just how much stoopidity you exhibit. However, they are, and perhaps luckily for you, too busy to waste even a little time on such an apparent lost cause (unlike me! though you've now used up all the time I had booked for eediots for the week....boooh).

Your grammar is just the beginning, I hope that's clear. In fact, on its own one might even give you a pass and not necessarily become pedantic, easily, if you were making sense ie. But no, you exhibit real foo.lishness, the genuine article. A goat that somehow thinks it can dine at a table with humans; using proper etiquette, cutlery despite having only hooves, etc etc, instead of just chewing grass and shitting everywhere as is its wont.

Anyhoo, onwards to other things. This is already too much 'wordy evidence' for you. Ehn, good sire?

Conservation of energy is university level topic... Mainly in thermodynamics. Instead of you to address the problem you are saying am reason like a nursery school child.
No, ser clown. Conservation of energy isn't the childish bit. Follow closely; it's your farcical reasoning that is nursery school level.

I hope that's clear?

So, how old are you?
