I must say, reading this thread from start to finish is definitely a game changer. To everyone that has contributed one way or the other, I salute you. I intend going into pig farming but the whole idea is to start small and grow into a big commercial farm. With feeding cost as a focus. Please, kindly provide me with the recommended spacing requirement (square foot per pig) as detailed below for. 1. Boar 2. Sows/Gilts 3. Furrowing pig 4. Weaner pig 5. Grower pig 6. Finisher With this, I can design the pen to get the targeted market weight and also estimate the number of plots needed for future expansion. The plan is to have a monthly sales of 100-500 mature pigs (future plan). Again feeding cost a top priority. Dreaming big guys. Thanks 3 Likes |

excelsiorfarm: Thanks for your reply Boss man. The design of the earthen ponds depth will be 3ft to 4ft but I am just thinking if its possible to dig a big pit where water comes from the ground. Then the water will be channel to the earthen ponds. all waste water will be passed to the river. I am addicted to this thread from its birth boss man and also I have an existing farm with concrete tanks. Thanks for the tip. Just to ask, how many fish per meter square is stocked in earthen ponds to get the best weight gain or result. ![]() |

tuk2ato:Very helpful. Does the spacing have direct relationship with the targeted market weight and what is the benefit of using 2 square foot per bird. Thanks |

tuk2ato:Nice one,you are doing great. Please, kindly advice the dimension of the housing that will accommodate 2,500 broilers to maturity. Or how many birds per square meter. Thanks |

soft777:@soft777 I DO NOT RATION FEED FOR MY FISH, my explanation only shows that with coppens fewer bags are used because of its quality not COST compared to vital or Topfeed. I use 600-650 bags of feed for 10,000 fish when feed with coopens or zeigler and 800 bags for 10,000 when feed with VITAL FEED or TOPFEED. I am not asking for your feed ingredient composition but to know other analysis apart from the main game changer 60% crude protein. Other feed manufacturers states the crude fiber, crude fat and so on. I wonder why u say its a secret. Well hoping to get my hands on a truck load of your feed so I can also see its wonders and dance to the bank. ![]() |

robonski15: @Robonski and @Soft777, Congrats on your hard work and am sure this is a game changer for all fish farmers. Thumps-up. Just to ask a few questions. 1. What are the guaranteed Analysis of the Gelatin feed outside the Crude protein. i.e Crude Fat Crude Fiber Crude Ash Phosphorous Calcium Sodium 2. For every 1000 fish, I normally use 60-65 bags of Coppen or Zeigler feed. Which is 900kg - 975kg. All bags in 15kg Then when using Vital or its like, they consume 80 bags to 1000 fish which is 1200kg My question is, how many kg of your Gelatin feed will 1000 fish consume to 1kg and above market size.
