Once the Dangote refinery kick-start petrol supply this September, the Nigeria economic outlook will be very improved and majority of stocks in the NGX will receive a lot of demand.

You may be wrong...

There is a Naija factor in the equation...

Better

Sanwo-Olu is really trying with rails

But he needs to also pay attention to the internal road networks and water availability

Most parts of Lagos do not have potable drinking water

Fix the rails first...
Move 90 percent of the masses to rail...
U can then shift to roads...
U have less pressure on the roads...
So they can last...

You are talking about a structured business. These are sales shop, one man business. There no such things, their costs structure can't accommodate that. They won't hold her responsible if she is not accountable

Too much shortcuts....

A sales person has responsibility to confirm his/her payment before releasing her goods. It's common sense
Until you run a business.

A sales girl has no business with money...
Cash collection and transfers from Customers should be handled by the cashier....
Cashier authorized release of goods after confirmation of funds...
That's the standard procedure.
Its called Segregation of Duties...a form of physical control in Accounting...
Thats a simple way of preventin fraud and irregularities...
No Agbero scammer will come to your shop
when u have simple control like this...in place

Certainly not the owner. The careless sales girl should bear it. I'm happy she resigned, let her start her own business and see how it hurts.
For other sales girls resigning means there was a conspiracy, I'm happy the owner dodged a bullet

Its negligence also on the part of the shop owner.

There should be a dedicated staff handling transfers from Customers...

Simple policy that Customers should know transfers will be confirmed before releasing goods... should be in place.

Its poor controls over their procedures...

adanny01:

I still opine that subsidy was and is not the problem. Refineries are the real problem. NNPC itself is another problem. The aim of subsidy is to stabilize the economy,

Tinubu insisted he removed subsidy but we know he couldn't have, if he actually did, our economy would have been in ashes. That's why 2012 didn't succeed. Both GEJ and Buhari saw it and retracted. Until we produce our petroleum products, subsidy will exist, anything else will result in an economic crash. No one wants to crash the economy of Nigeria. Tinubu has seen it but he failed in returning it quicker.

Mark my words, subsidy can only go away with functional refineries.

Any president who doesn't face squarely our refineries, will fail.

That guy don't understand ...simple analysis ..
Subsidies exists all over the world..
Its our own version of subsidy without local production that is the problem!
We need to get the four local refineries working ...
And get Dangote to complement what they are doing....
NNPC and those cabals know this ...
Thats why they wont let those refineries work....
Thats the way forward !

That is why having a good understanding of business valuation is very important. If a business of N1000 is selling for N300, why shouldn't I buy.

Apart from that strategic buyers buy in tranches, the cash flow for the purchase does come at once.

But if you have zero understanding of valuation you can use the charts

I understand your point of business valuation.....
But what valuation wont tell us is when or whether we will have buyers ....
that will pay N1000 for the business you purchase at N300 ....
So you have to wait it out on a long term horizon...1..2... 3.. 4 .5yrs probably 10years.
hoping that there will be buyers to offer N1000/....
I got tired of the hope and the need to average down....
Sincerely average down is a function of how deep your pocket is ....
Thats my turning point to TA .....
Folks should just use what works for them....

He might not need a chart if he has done his homework, has a good understanding of the fair value of the business, the business is selling at a discount, there is a generous margin of safety and he is planning to hold for 5 years and above based on his understanding of the business.
He might miss good opportunities to accumulate if waiting for the right signals.

By the way Warren Buffett does not use charts

I admire your passion for Buffet style..
But I don't share same sentiments...
Buffet has a large war chest....
invest in a sane environment , enjoy good coy corp governance practices...
With sound regulatory framework and supervision...
Unfortunately, we lack these core values of Buffet portfolio on the NGX...
I agree with U that FA help you understand if a business is selling at a discount or not ...
TA guides your entry and exit point by looking at the price action...
As Agba succinctly place it ...
TA makes you more efficient ....

Good news!!!

I recently acquired an acre (6plots) land in Ogun state, lusada axis to be precise. I have been thinking of what to do with it, or rather, what aspect of farming I should use it for . Nevertheless, first thing first, the land needs to be secured and prepared for whatever crop farming i intend using if for.

Kindly join me as I take you through the process of setting up my this new farm of mine from scratch. Suggestions are highly welcomed.

5. Investing is simple; you don't need to master complex charts - you're not a trader. Trading is difficult in NGX due to relatively low liquidity.

You need chart ...
to guide your entry ... and exit points
Moving Average... Bollinger Bands...RSI ..Japanese Candlesticks etc are not complex...
My 2 cents grin cheesy

Dangote can't sell petrol at a loss and survive. He just can't produce at a cost of ₦1000 and sell to Nigerians at ₦600. Understand that.

Good Luck to Nigeria [/quote. Give Dangote the space to start first.. Don't frustrate him... Let the other four refineries come up.. ... Let their be a steady local supplies ...Import will reduce drastically.... It will not be profitable to import...Demand for forex will reduce...vos Dangote self dey buy for Naira.....How can we drill crude oil in Nigeria and ship it overseas to refine..is that not madness.. Let Fg fix that problem...price will find its place just like the Telecoms sector..

NNPC-NNPCL-OVH

I am glad that ‘The Truth’ about the tussle for the soul of the Petroleum Industry is beginning to reveal itself.

First, we find NNPC (a government/public company) transition to NNPCL (a private company) without any form of disclosure.

Next, NNPCL claimed to acquire OVH Energy Marketing (the second largest retail franchise at the time) to make NNPC Retail the largest retail franchise in sub-Saharan Africa.

Next, we saw is OandO plc (a debt-ridden company) buying out prime assets of an established company.

Next, we see NNPC Retail [literally] dissolved without being wound up and OVH Energy Marketing happens to be the resulting entity [a subsidiary of OandO plc]

In simple terms OandO plc has become probably the only fully established Integrated Energy Company in Nigeria.

All these might seem like a French roulette but it is a well-arranged domino…the final piece being a REFINERY!

Anyhow they want to do it....
Na dem sabi...
Let us get a piece of the pie... with our shares..
Thats the koko... grin

Have you ever seen any sane country that dont have

Its the Nigerian leaders that are greedy, corrupt and have leadership issues...
