Subsidy removal had many purposes.Some are long term while some are shorterm.
Some of the short term purposes have been achieved already which include the growth of foreign reserve from 3billion dollars to 50 billion dollars and increased in overall FAAC revenue.How the FG and states spend the revenue is another discussion entirely.

Some of the long term benefit is to unbundle the investiment in the oil and gas sector and it has started manifesting too with the thriving of dangote refinery.Do you think Dangote refinery will thrive in a price-capped environment? Success of dangote refinery will send a good signal for more FDI to come,one of them is the Shell plan to return to the country.

Economic reforms should be judged not only by government revenue, foreign reserves or investment figures,

My mom was a teacher and my dad was also a teacher . They started building in the year 2000 and they were only able to complete the building in the year 2015 even though the cost of materials was not this high. A four bedroom apartment . We were five in number and we all went to the university. They both earn a salary of 200k plus total before you ask; and yet it took them 15 years. I repeat, try to be patriotic with your statement in the public space . All hands are not equal . No one plans to live in a rented house if they can afford to build .

currently building a two-bedroom bungalow on a quarter plot
. She is already at lintel level.
When I look at her progress, I honestly wonder how she has managed to get this far,
but she is doing it gradually and within her means.

I also have people working in the financial sector,
earning stable salaries, who have chosen not to buy land,
let alone start building. That's a personal choice,
and there's nothing wrong with it.

The fact that building is difficult doesn't mean it is impossible.
We should encourage people to start within their means
rather than make home ownership sound completely unattainable.

I beg to differ,the circumstances oyetola met in 18 is really different from what adeleke met......oyetola is on record to be the most prudent gov osun ever had comparable to baba akande.......when adeleke came in, salary and pension payments were no longer a problem in the state......oyetola's far lesser faac allocation and revenues were used to effectively stabilise the finances of the state,he reversed the half salary payments by aregbe and cleared pension arrears ,there was barely anything left for projects or jamboree.
