grandstar: Blame Trump and not Iran. He was warned by the US miliyary not to start this war. Now you see why? Trump will force Iran to the negotiation table. Blocking the straitt is a broad strategy of economic pressure. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: US Sending 10,000 More Troops To Middle East Despite Iran Ceasefire by Willie2015: 12:48pm On Apr 16 |
Hndrrxxx: The hypocrisy on the Strait of hormuz from Trump is disgusting. Gulf of America, Cuba blockade, Gaza blockade (supported by US). The waters of the strait of Hormuz fall within the 12 n miles for Oman & Iran. This is a claim used for water used on American shorelines! It's an international strait.. There is a Maritime law guiding it.. it's wrong for Iran to block it and start collecting tolls. |

Kobicove: You people overestimate the US.
In just 3 weeks of war with an underdog like Iran the Americans have already run low on their ammunitions stockpile...just imagine what would happen if they face a more capable opponent like Europe, Russia or China Run low on ammunitions ... Or they are looking at civilian casualties.. Isreal alone used over 4 million cluster bombs in Lebanon in 2006.... They are yet to use a single one becos of civilian casualties... US is not even thinking of using it.... Abeg make u na dey read well.... |

If i believe in a stock, then selling to book profit is counterintuitive since it reduces my longterm profit. Its relative... Esp when u have an alternate pick.. deathwing: Seplat traded at 10k yesterday. I got my eyes on it at 8.5-9k. Ignored opinions that implied I should wait till dividend kinikan for a dip. There is too much potential in front for such considerations. Time in the market is better than timing the market. Won’t gamble an investment decision because a stock MIGHT drop 5%…that is inconsequential for a longterm holding. If it dips to 8k, I will buy more, if it never dips that low, I have secured my bag already. Looking forward to 15k over the next year or so. Target is N12k... I sold half of my portfolio to book profit.... Will buy the dip if it ever comes... |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Talks Are Over, Strait Of Hormuz Is Closed Iran Says by Willie2015: 10:02am On Apr 13 |
tishbite41: Tolls are being charged at the Panama and Suez canals Hormuz shouldn't be different It just needs a legal framework U are wrong Suez and Panama canals are man-made (artificial) waterways, whereas the Strait of Hormuz is a natural strait. Under international maritime law (UNCLOS), the rules for these two types of passages are entirely different: |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Blockade Of All Ships Entering And Leaving Iranian Ports Begin Today - US Navy by Willie2015: 9:54am On Apr 13 |
tishbite41: Stop peddling lies The Turks toll the Bosphorus Strait Under international law, the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran and Oman It is not an international waterway Strait of Hormuz is an "international strait" governed by transit passage. This means that under international law, coastal states cannot legally suspend or impede the continuous and expeditious passage of foreign vessels... |

grandstar: Iran will fight dirty. They did so in the latest war and would do so again.
The Straits aren't the issue. It is when Iran starts firing at oil assets in other Middle East country is when the US will have a rethink.
Iran can sustain a war for at least 2 months which would wreck the entire world economy.
Trump was warned by top US military brass not to start this war but he would not listen. Now the global economy is suffering. Let Iran destroyed it now... US dont have to blink... Everyone can play dirty.... Its war....Bros We survived Covid19. that took app 7million lives.. .we will survive this too... It takes madness to cure madness... Why u dey fear now... |
Foreign Affairs › Re: US Navy To Start Blockading All Ships On The Strait Of Hormuz - President Trump by Willie2015: 3:47pm On Apr 12 |
owagbeba: With all that you have mentioned above, here is a very simple question, is Iran blockaded? It cannot replace the Strait. Shifting to Capscian sea is a survival strategy, not a replacement. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: US Navy To Start Blockading All Ships On The Strait Of Hormuz - President Trump by Willie2015: 3:35pm On Apr 12 |
owagbeba: With the Capsian sea, Iran is not blockaded. Irrespective of the fact that it will cost money to build capacity on that front, China is capable of paying the cost and have paid the cost in BRI China will not allow the United States to derail the “ Belt and Road Initiative “ and they have prepared for this scenario in which US and Eu will deny it access through traditional routes.
China planned ahead. That’s why they have BRI Even with the Chinese deep pocket, it cant replace the Strait Capsaicin sea cant handle the 20 million barrel per day.. even with Chinese and Russia Support. China’s proposed Caucasus-Iran-Pakistan oil pipeline ($280 billion) is still mostly on paper. However, "planning ahead" and "having the physical capacity ready today" are two different things. |

Iran will still maintain communication with her main trading partner -China through the Caspian Sea
Who suffers in Trump’s blockade: Qatar, UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait. These are all American Allie’s. You dont even understand those points listed there.. try and read It will cost Iran billion of dollars they dont have and many years of construction. Trump is now doing the right thing..
