layi:Rap has metamophosed over the years just as you said layi, both in style and message. From simple issues like "playing basket Ball (Curtis glow) to getting paid in full (Rakim) to Brenda having a baby (pac) and then 50Ty getting rich or die trying. just this morning, i was thinking the very same thing as i watched the video ( fight the power)chuck D, flavor fee and Terminator X aka Public Enemy , for me i think the best era was the late 80s and early 90s.. we saw a lot of ingenuity in hiphop, with folks like, chubb rock, Eric b and rakim,Robb base, cool mo Dee, MC lyte DE la soul, king and I,Dogg e fresh, Danny dane, digital underground, krs one and in the 90s.. it just got better with Pete rock and cl smooth, ghetto boys, scarface, tribe called quest, house of pain,3rd bass, Epmd,Wu tang clan, souls of mischief, daz efx, Fu shinckens, pac &Bigg, busta, gangstar the list is endless I think these days its all about, the Blin..Blin!!!,sex,guns,gangs, and the ever too talked about beef thing.. So layi its really a tough question for any hiphop head to pick a particular style and Artist. Been trying to pick one ,but i just can't seem to think who . But if you question, was like, How many, will you list as the best rap artists of all times my list will be some thing like this Run Dmc rakim LL cool jay Pac Bigg pete rock and cl smooth Q tip and The 5 footer jayzee krs one latifah red man method man nas Erick sermon DA la soul naughty by nature Dre snoop mc lyte salt and pepper easy e ice cube ice Tee the game kanye slim shaddy will smith the roots common i think this list is getting too long, but men! this guys make it into my Hall of fame of rap anyday any time.. If i must and i should, my naija peep i will add to that list is, The tribes men... them boys sure can ... They have got the real hiphop spirit. |

NOW!!!, That’s what am Talking about, some real Topic…. Thank U Bigtee... Hip-hop Biffs… is both a stunt to sale records and also real in some cases… (Pac and big). Hip-hop , originated from the streets, and thus is based on street culture, In the early days what they had was street battle, rappers trying to diss (disrespect) each other and show who’s game was tight, but that’s just plain and simple battle.. it never got to the point of pulling out their nines!. Eazy E and Dr Dre.. had their little thang back then, but that was just for record sales, even if it looked kinda real. But then game, got tough…..Gangster rap, gangs (creeps and blood)… The scene changed people wanted to live their lyrics, so that others wont call them studios gangsters, and thus the stake got higher, cus if you say on your tracks, that you are a killer then you have to prove that its not bugs and little stuff you kill, you can leave somebody lying cold on the street walk . The biff is real and if not checked, will be Hip-hop greatest challenge yet ever. They best way to take out any creature is to kill its ability to reproduce it self, and gangster rap and Hip hop beef helps the black communities in the inner cities to achieve this. Hip-hop has out lived all critics since its inception in the mid/late70s, and it’s grown like wild fire, world wide… form Africa to Asia and The EU nations, with different shades and style to suit local people. I can’t say I know what took, the live of JMJ So Our concern should be, lets not copy the bad part of this culture, Hip-hop is a wonderful and undying Art form and I believe Nigeria is the Next stop after the US, So Young Bloods, let our record industry, records executives and Artist especially Hip-hop artist, Live and learn. PEACE! |
cushman:Just Go to the immigrations office closest to u, in most major cities u will find them located at the federal secetariate building. Take along , a copy of your birth certificate and your local Government ID letter. It cost just 5 thousand naira, but if u are in a rush and need it within a day or two, then be ready to part with 10 thousand naira to have an immigrations officer fast track it for you. So you can get Your Digital passport taken on time and then collect it on time as well. But if not in a rush, i suggest you just take you time pay the 5thousand and then wait till the day u are lucky enough to get your passport taken...and U are done. |

SCM/LOGISTICS Hello People, I will like to use this tread to bring folks interested, or already practicing professional in the Area of Logistics and supply chain management, also professionals in allied functions like shipping, materials handling, inventory/stock management and Transportation planning, should please feel free to join us and share their expertise with us. My Profile: Currently I work in the(sales and receivables section) with a Major Logistics service company In the south of Nigeria and have one year 3 months experiance, i have learnt and seen how major firms, oil and gas, manufacturing etc outsource their logistics Functions , control and operate their supply chain operations, both Locally (Support base services) and Internationally (Terminal /port). With a Higher National Diploma in Production Engr and a PGD in Transport Mgt and planning in View, I Now want to really build a career in Logistics and SCM and move from my present function into the main aspects of logistics and SCM. Since Logistics and SCM is an emerging function in most Organizations and without Formal undergraduate or postgraduate courses run in these areas by local tertiary institutions, it’s hard to get training locally. My search so far has only come up with two firms offering Training and short course in this area, One Export Academy in Lagos and The upcoming Phillips consulting LOD program in Principals of SCM, coming up I think some time in July 2006. I am making serious search for the best place and at a reasonable cost where one can take short courses, training or postgraduate studies in logistics and SCM, my search so far shows that South Africa seems to be the likely destination for this training,, due to the relatively reduced cost to pursue this program there as compared to doing it in Europe, especially the UK and Netherlands. If any one has a better idea of where one can Build Up his career in Logistics and SCM locally or abroad, please share. Another important aspect in the logistics and SCM business, is having a working knowledge of the most comely used ERP application software’s for Example SAP (Logistics) and SCM, Modules. The Cost of learning this application here in Nigeria is over the roof top, that’s if u are an individual like myself yarning to take this courses. SAP training school in Nigeria is located in Abuja and Lagos Currently I have working experience with Navision attain ERP and ARIBA spend mgt E-procurement application (Buyer interface). I will also want to suggest that if anyone out there has an idea of where one can learn, JD Edward (inventory software) and other Hot ERP applications commonly used by big firms. To please lets us in on it. I hope we can share ideas and build a very interesting and informative discuss on this and even much more. |

I Got this from a friend and am very sure u will forward it too, ENJOY IT I believe this is a 'classic'.... One evening last week, my wife and I got into bed. Well, The passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says "I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me." I said "WHAT !!! What was that?!" So she says the words that every husband on the planet dreads to hear..."You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man." She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love Me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?" Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night I went to sleep. The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take so I told her we'll just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said lets get a pair for each outfit. We went to the jewelry department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you, she was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis. I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey." She was almost nearing ecstatic satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation she finally said, "I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier." I could hardly contain myself when I blurt out, "No honey, I don't feel like it." Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled "WHAT??!!!" I then said "Really honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman." And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me I added, "Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH |
