The District Governor International Association of Lion's Clubs District 404A1 Lion Fortune Wagbatsoma paid condolence visit to the family of Late Lion Barr Ifeanyi Onwuanyi at their residence in Onitsha, Anambra State.

DG Wagbatsoma who visited the family on Wednesday 25/5/21 described Late Barr Lion Ifeanyi Onwuanyi as a committed Lions who has over time displayed unwavering commitment and dedication in rendering selfless services, contributions towards the growth of humanity and the society at large.

According to the DG Wagbatsoma, the death of late Lion Ifeanyi Onwuanyi is not only a great loss to the family but also to the District and LCI in general.

She encouraged the family to take solace on the good humanitarian services, Positive Impacts towards the advancement of humanity rendered by late Lion Ifeanyi Onwuanyi as she prayed for God to grant the family the fortitute to bear the irreparable loss.

Speaking today in Warri in commemoration of the 2022 International Women’s Day, DG Wagbatsoma acknowledged Womens full Participation and Contributions in the International Association of Lion's Clubs towards adding values to the lives of humanity and the society at large.

Secret Reporters should tell us the location of the abandoned tax building across the state as claimed. Infact, it is on record that No tax office has been built by this administration since inception from 2015, this petty and fabricated lies has expose the fact that Fejiro Oliver who is the head of Secrets Reporters is not only a complete blackmailer, liar and a dubious solidified criminal who only feeds through the blackmail of Government Appointees.

Secondly, the Media Bandits cum criminal journalist Fejiro Oliver claimed that the revenue service boss penned down the sum of N150 Million for the Construction of 1 (No) office building at Kwale as against an approved sum of N120 Million in the previous year and another N150million was penned down for Construction of office building at Akukwu-Igbo. Saying that the prices was inflated from N120 Million to N150 Million

This claim is a clear indication that criminality and blackmailing reasoning has overshadowed the mentality of Secret Reporters. A blackmailer who don't even know the class or type of building structure/design, a core criminal who don't even have or know about the bill of quantity claimed that prices was Inflated. The District Governor, International Association of Lion's Clubs, District 404A1 Lion Fortune Wagbatsoma has charged Club Presidents on prompt payment of their club dues, stating that Clubs must not wait till the deadline before paying their dues.

The DG who disclosed this yesterday during a Zoom Meeting with Club Presidents and Secretaries urged clubs who are owing to put in their best and pay their dues before the first week of September, 2021 adding that Clubs who are not owing should know that 90 days from July 1st without payment of club dues can place a club on suspension, hence all clubs are admonished to fulfil their obligations to the Association" You don't need to wait till the eleventh hour before paying your club dues, I implore every Lion to live up to expectation in this regard" she added.

While responding to questions, the DG noted that dropping a Member who are not faithful in the payment of dues won't solve the problem until you replace them with quality members who are committed in club activities and the payment of dues.

The Executive Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service Sir Monday John Onyeme has extolled the virtues of the Delta State Governor Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on the auspicious occasion of his 62nd birthday anniversary today Thursday 8th July, 2021.

Onyeme in his goodwill message today through a voice notes to the Press lauded the tremendous contributions and visible monumental infrastructural development witnessed by Deltans in the last 6yrs of his administration as Governor of Delta State.

According to him, Gov Okowa has transformed Delta State with various life-changing projects, enviable Infrastructures adding that the human capital development of Gov Okowa through various programmes such as Steps and Yagep, Women Empowerment Skill Acquisitions Programme (WESAP), Widows welfare package, Sporting Activities, Youths Empowerment Programmes through the Ministry of Youth Development and many others deserves to be commended.

“Since your emergence as Governor of Delta State , you have left no stone unturned in your quest to bring unprecedented infrastructural and human capital development to the state, your even distribution of Projects across the local government areas deserves to be applauded" he added.

2023: Okowa not opposed to zoning in Delta - Ifeajika

Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, Mr Olise Ifeajika , has said that the governor was not averse to zoning of governorship of the state contrary to insinuations in some quarters.

Speaking to journalists at Government House, Asaba, on Thursday, Ifeajika said that it was also not true that the governor came to power through zoning consensus as being canvassed by some highly-placed Deltans.

He said that it was imperative to put the records straight in order not to mislead Deltans and other Nigerians.

According to him, there is an insinuation making the rounds; ordinarily one wouldn't have bothered to talk about it but because it’s coming from very highly-placed persons, there is need to put the records straight.

"It’s not true that the Governor of this state, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, is opposed to zoning, particularly for the governorship of this state.

"The times he spoke, it was loud and clear. He said that God will help Deltans to determine who will take over from him.

"But even at that, he told Deltans that at the right time, the leadership of the PDP will sit down to decide who the governor will be and after that, leave it to God to decide ultimately as he cannot play the role of God.

"That has been his position; so, it’s not true that the governor is opposed to power moving to Delta Central or any other senatorial district for that matter," Ifeajika said.

He further said that the insinuations making the rounds that the governor came to power through zoning were wrong because people from other senatorial districts participated in the primaries that brought him to power.

He said that there was no time in the history of the state that any primary for governorship was allowed as an exclusive preserve of any senatorial district.

"The insinuation that it was through zoning that Okowa became governor is also wrong. We are all witnesses to the primaries that brought him to power, persons from the other senatorial districts in the state other than Delta North, participated in the exercise.

"There was no time in the state, particularly in this present dispensation that any primary for governorship has been allowed to be for only one particular senatorial district.

"In all the records we have, primaries had been for all comers; people from all the senatorial districts always participated in all of that.

"For the one that brought Okowa to power in 2015, we are aware that aspirants from Central and South Senatorial Districts participated, including a former minister who has become an apostle of zoning and saying that zoning consensus brought Governor Okowa to power.

``Indeed, former Chief of Staff, Olorogun David Edevbie, came second in that race, meaning that if he had come first, there was no way they would have asked him to stay away and allow Okowa to grab the ticket on the grounds that it was the turn of Delta North to produce the governor.

"In other words, it is not true that it was zoning that brought Okowa to power, it was his person, his pedigree in politics and the grace of God. He also had, as he still does, immense goodwill across the three senatorial districts.

"So, what we are praying for and also asking Deltans to do is that everybody should come together and at the right time, the leadership of PDP will come together and decide who the successor to Governor Okowa will be, and of course, they will be guided by God as the governor himself, had said.

"That’s what we need to do; so, the insinuation that the governor is opposed to the next governorship candidate coming from a particular place is untrue and it is important to put that record straight," Ifeajika stated.

On the defection of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its effect on PDP's performance, the CPS dismissed the move, saying that it would not have any impact on PDP's dominance in the state.

"The beauty of democracy is that people are allowed to move to any party they like. The movement of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi does not translate to the dominance of APC in Delta.

"Yes, Nwaoboshi has gone to APC but I can tell you that the impact of his defection cannot rattle PDP in this state. Delta is a PDP
State and will remain so.

"That APC now has two senators does not translate to it being able to take Delta in elections; they cannot win one-twentieth of Delta electorate," he added.

The District Governor, International Association of Lion's Clubs, District 404A1 Lion Fortune Wagbatsoma has stated that the Government cannot do it all, hence, the International Association of Lion's Club is complimenting the efforts of the Government by building Infrastructures that has great impacts on the lives of the People.
