The Cost of Living in Abuja is Well Beyond the Average Professional’s Wages

This is more pathetic than funny really, but it’s the sad truth. Since the 1990s, the cost of living in Abuja is above what an average professional can afford. This thus makes living in the state quite difficult. The truth is, it might not seem like Nigerians have anything to be happy about but our choosing to be happy and rejoice as we go about our daily hustle regardless of anything, is much healthier than wallowing in depression and despair for the state of things.

I'm going to come at this from a different angle and I know many people will start sweating when they read my post but I don't really care because it's true.

The major culprit in population explosion especially in third world countries is patriarchy.
The idea that a man's name has to be perpetuated makes couples have children even if deep down, they really do not want children. In fact everyone is raised to never consider the option of staying childless.

Is anyone on this thread going to claim they've never heard 'who will continue the father's name?' Like the man when he dies will be aware of anyone bearing his name or not.

The women are railroaded into this ego trip by being made to feel worthless when they aren't married or when married and their bodies can't be put to use to perpetuate the man's name.

Don't even get me started on people looking for male children while having their 7th girl and impregnating other women outside in their bid for the male gender.

Argue all we want, this contributes 50% (in my opinion) to the population explosion. At least from my experience growing up.

The main (yes 90% reason) is religion.
Nigerians simply believe that god is capable of providing for as many children as they produce. overpopulation is celebrated as god's gift.
like morons (and despite the fact god never shows up), they maintain that belief that god will finally assist or provide a heaven in paradise for their flock.

Hello NLanders, I am 20 years of age and intend going back to school to study computer science. I am interested in studying outside the country, since the CS courses here look crappy (I know this because i have helped some students with their school projects/assignment).

I have been able to save 2.5M in the past 9 months (Made from blogging). I make on average 200k per month. I don't have any properties (Land or House) in Nigeria. I have taken 4 gap years (Which might be an issue with my visa interviewer).

Considering all this limitation, Which (good) foreign country can i study in ? (I know germany no longer have free tuition, and other ones have crazy visa bond).

The obituaries are usually that they are good citizens loved by some community. What really triggered the deaths are usually left out!

I never heard of Nigerian passport holders being killed in a tiny country of 350,000 people called Blize until ibos started dealing drugs there...all of a sudden it is reported as attack on Nigerians but when I contacted one of the judges office they sent me some links with ibo names on it!

Anytime an ibo person dies, look closer for the real cause. Majority of them are drug dealers anywhere you find them!
