In a friday night attacks on a police station in Gombe state, suspected Islamists have killed at least 14 people. Witnesses said Saturday. “I have seen at least 14 burnt bodies in and around the police station,” a Gombe resident who lives near the station told AFP on condition of anonymity. The gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram Islamists Friday launched simultaneous gun and bomb attacks on a prison and a police station in the northern city of Gombe, a jail guard and a resident said. The attackers staged what residents said appeared to be coordinated attacks on a main prison where some Boko Haram members are believed to be held, and on a nearby police station. “We are under siege. A large number of gunmen have encircled the prison, shooting and detonating explosives. It is clear they are Boko Haram,” a prison warden told AFP from inside the central prison in Gombe city. A resident, Ibrahim Yau, said gunshots and explosions rang across the city for over an hour. The prison overlooks the police station and both are situated near the palace of the tradition Muslim leader, the emir, in downtown Gombe city. Trouble often arise when people refuse to keep to the terms of an agreement. This famous and talented Nigerian raggae artist - Bukola Elemide who is popularly known as Asa seems to be tired of *poo* from her former music label Question Mark Records whom she accused of attempting to pirate her music. Hence, she finally decided to drag the music company to court for justice. Ok let's hear from the horse's mouth. "It has come to our attention that a certain Nigerian Chronotech Limited (a CD factory) based in Lagos Nigeria is preparing to go into commercial production of a purported Asa music production titled Down On Me’. The music production was purportedly authorised by Question Mark entertainment in partnership with marketer/ distributor MacKings Limited. We wish to state categorically that Asa was not involved in this production in any form and the artiste's team is very shocked by this misrepresentation from Question Mark entertainment or MacKings Limited, two organisations with which she has no relationship whatsoever. We also take this opportunity to notify individuals and organisations that this production and the associated illegal use of the Asa trademark is a violation of her intellectual property. We have informed our lawyers and appropriate action will be taken against any individual, body or corporate entity associated with this. We thank Nigerian Chronotech for its professionalism in this matter - and for promptly alerting Asa's management to confirm the authenticity of this production, and look forward to this professionalism from other Nigerian music industry stakeholders. Asa continues to work hard on her music, and fans and the public will be promptly informed of any new releases through her management, publicist and other official channels." The extent of fraud in the name of God is getting alarming, though you may quite agree that in most cases of "church fraud," greediness (on the part of the victims) is a major cause. Just today (Wednestday), three men, who claimed to be prophets, were arraigned before an Apapa Chief Magistrates’ Court, for obtaining N1.7 million under false pretences from a businessman, Mr Dama Lawan. The accused persons are Merchart Joseph, Lukeman Rasheed and David Agha. Prosecutor John Iberedem said the accused would be tried for stealing and obtaining money under false pretences. He told the court that the accused persons deceived Lawan into believing that they were prophets of God and had the power to make him rich. He said that the accused, who knew full well that they had nothing to offer, disappeared immediately after collecting the money. He said that they were later apprehended by the police. The prosecutor, who said that the accused had no fixed addresses, alleged that they committed the offences on Jan. 20 at No. 1, Shobayo Close, Apapa. Iberedem said that the offences contravened Sections 285, 312 (a) and 409 of the Criminal Code, Cap 17, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State. The three accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate E. A. Ogundare admitted each of them to a bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum. He directed that the sureties should show evidence of tax payment and have their addresses verified by the prosecutor. Further hearing of the case has been adjourned till March 30. 2012. I quite agree with Uwazuruike. That is not done. I think Ojukwu's son is dealing selfishly. |
Five months after her wedding, top Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson (whom I like refering to as <b>Sexy Johnson</b> , seems not to be having a very nice time as she is presently being putunder pressure by families of her husband, <b>Prince Odi Okojie</b>. The actress, who had a turbulent wedding saga before her eventual wedding on August 27, 2011, was reportedly summoned some weeks ago by her "in-laws," as an insider source disclosed. In October last year, it was reported that Mercy Johnson was pregnant. Though the story was true but events changed things. According to a close source to the actress, Mercy has been asked questions by family members of Prince Odi on why she has delayed in giving them the fruit of marriage after their marriage last year. Though her husband, Prince Odi is said to be suppressing pressures being mounted on his wife by his family members, but the source confessed that there might be a limit Odi cannot go further on the issue, taking note of his people's culture and tradition. "You know that in Edo culture, the man's family has a lot of say in their lives, especially on marriage matters," the source said. We learnt that at the meeting, Prince Odi was pleading with his family members to be patient with his wife, insisting that there is nothing wrong with his wife. It was also said that Prince Odi told his family that <b>his wife's job was a demanding one</b>, that she only needs their supports. Mercy Johnson married Prince Odi Okojie in August 2011, after much troubles from her rival - one <b>Lovelyn Okojie</b>, who claimed she was still legally married to Prince Odi with two kids as at that time. As at the time of filing this post, Mercy Johnson has not made any comment on this. Source http://www.viewsonit.com/2012/02/sexy-mercy-johnson-give-us-child-prince.html |

Finance is the life blood of every business. Before venturing into any business, one major thing you must put into consideration is how much capital is needed for the business and how to actually raise the needed finance for that particular business. By experience, I came up with some few ways of raising finance to support your small business and here they are. 1, Microfinance banks. 2, Cooperative society. 3, Online networks like www.linkedin.com 4, Personal savings. Etc. These points have been extensively discussed here http://www.felibrain.com/2012/01/ways-to-get-finance-for-your-small.html Enjoy and GOOD LUCK. |

Phew! One i pray is that the igbos don't get together to plan this. BH are just showing themselves forgeting that if igbos could withstand entire Nigeria in a civil war for 30 months, then what is boko haram to the igbos. I hope this doesn't get so red as that because if the igbos should take on boko haram it may mean taking on the entire north because igbos in the east seem not to understand that not everyone in the north is hausa. Well the north should better watch it because the end of this may not favour them at all. Such an undeveloped and poor region making noise here and there. If you visit some states in the north like Borno, Bauchi, Kebbi, Zamfara, Yobe, etc, you will begin to wonder what their state government have been doing with the yearly budgets allocated to states because they appear just too simple and uncivilized except for states like Kaduna. In addition, the north has not much mineral resources so why are they allowing some BH shit to destroy their region? *hands off keyboard.* |
Business is defined as any commercial activity engaged in by someone (an entrepreneur) having profit making and the creation of utility as it major objectives. Obviously, the business world is growing rapidly on as the clock ticks away. Many businesses are established every day and this is not in any way a bad trend because good business keeps the economy moving. However, the main problem is not how to establish a business rather, the most important stage in business is sustainance stage because this stage determines the position of any business i.e, whether the established business will stand or crash. It is no news that many entrepreneur keep suffering business failures and these failures results from avoidable errors in business. So what are those errors that wreck down new businesses? 1, Wrong choice of business is the first in my list. Granted, there are many business to choose from but the truth is you pick a business just because others are doing that particular business and making good money from it, your chances for success in that business is narrow. 2, inadequate planning can serious bring a business down. I tell you the truth today, to fail to plan in business and even life in general is not lack of PLAN but actually a delibrate plan to FAIL. Business planning is paramout so don't under estimate it. 3, Disregarding the importance of market research is another great error in business. Having a great and mind-blowing business idea is not equal to having a great business. You need to have a good understanding who your buyers are, where to find them and how much they are willing to pay for your goods and services. 4, Thinking that you can do everything is a proof that you can do nothing. You need to engage capable hands in your business. However placing all your trust on people is a big business sin your must not comit. 5, Lastly, ignoring the business "know how" is harmful to your business success. If you are not an addicted researcher and a comitted learner, please don't go into business. Thanks for your time and good luck! |
