Birth Story

During my antenatal onThursday I was feeling menstrual cramps like pain going on and off,I was checked and my doctor told me to come for inducement on Monday the following week,by midnight a strong pain woke me up while sleeping,i woke my husband and he said we should start going to the hospital but since I felt it once and I don't want the nurse to use my jajaina for experiment i told him we should wait till morning,we went to the hospital in the morning and I was checked(Chai that thing can be painful) the matron asked me how I was  feeling I told her it's like a menstrual cramp she smiled and said when the real labor starts it won't be like menstrual pain that I should come back by then, I told my husband i was craving fried rice with chicken so we went in search of that,when I got home I danced for an hour and my contractions started getting stronger I was able to manage it at home till like 8:45pm I couldn't take it anymore,I couldn't time the contractions sef, i just told my husband we should start heading back to the hospital, he dressed up when we got outside our car refuse to start  I was like don't you have a spare battery for emergency,do you want me to deliver at home,what do you stand to gain by seeing me in pains lol,my husband just stood there looking confused the same car we took to the hospital in the morning,he called his friend who told us he will be there soon, i couldn't take it anymore,my husband started begging that he is so sorry,his friend came and they changed the battery on our way i told my husband he is driving too slow and if he drives fast I will still complain,on getting to the hospital my contractions stopped,the nurse were like iyawo is back o,they hope it is not menstrual pain that brought me back in told them this is stronger than menstrual pain,they checked me and said I was 4 to 5cm dilated,by 11:00 I started having strong contractions and i felt I was in ulala land,i called the nurse to come and check me but they refused and continue watching Telemundo, after a while i called a student nurse to please check me,she said I should be calm,after a while i told them I want to poo,they told me not to push that it's my baby head,but they refuse to leave the series they were watching to come check me,I called the student nurse again and told her to please talk to me,she should just talk to me about anything,they started making jest of me by 11:20 pm one of them came to check me and shouted iyawo is close o,that was when they started running around,i was asked to turn around and push but my contractions stopped immediately I turn around and was given a drip immediately,by 11:40pm my prince came into the world crying his lungs out,after giving me a little tear and also weighing 3.3kg, hmmm it can only be God,here is a pix of my Lil cutie Khalid,Olamiposi

Relax mummy. Don't pay attention to what anyone thinks. I experienced same when I had my baby (though not up to 6 days), took aloooooooot of pap, make it watery not thick, drink it like water after every meal (drink while is hot) . Also there's this pap hubby told someone to do for Me, the red pap + soya +something,can't even remember. But the normal pap will do jare.

Sorry dear. The first few days of breastfeeding can be very difficult! Before you breastfeed,
1. Get a pillow and prop him up so he can be in a comfortable position
2. Have a bottle of water next to you, be drinking while breastfeeding
3. Breastfeed at regular intervals, don't wait for him to be hungry before bringing him to the breast
4. Take oats, pap, tea to increase breast milk production
5. You also have to relax cos stress causes breast milk not to flow properly
6. Having done all these, if you ain't getting your desired result, don't starve your child! Supplement with formula. Giving a baby formula does not make you less of a mother! Ignore whatever comments anyone will make at you

Congrats Mama. First of all you need to be calm, you getting worked up plus baby crying will not allow you achieve what you want so i suggest you try when baby isn't too hungry. Also make sure he takes the breast up to the areola (the black part) not just sucking on the nipple. Try YouTube videos, they might help as well. Also Google "tongue tie" see if you can find a video of what it looks like, or when you go to the hospital anytime this week (I see you have a boy so circumcision) ask the nurses to check for you, it sometimes affects their latch. Are your nipples out or inverted? If it's inside you can use a breast pump to bring it out

Until it works keep expressing. It's important baby is fed. There's nothing wrong with your breast, don't mind anybody that says so. Focus on your baby

please mamas I'm new here my lo isn't latching well and I'm finding it difficult to feed him since I plan to exclusively Breastfeed him please this is getting to me cos he makes him cry alot and in laws are not making it easy on me like I'm the one that has the wrong type of Breast, please help this ftm from getting depressed
he is 6 days old today, I'm expressing the little I can for him.

Nothing, you've just lost your mucus plug which is a good thing, it means your body is preparing for labour but does not guarantee immediate contractions, it varies for individuals cos some lose theirs for weeks before contraction,some for days and some a few hours before contractions kicks off. I lost mine at about 8pm and began to contract sat about past 3am,had my baby about 9hrs later.

So chill and watch how things progress. But it's a cause to smile cos me never even see the plug set, if I lose my mucus plug today, I will put on my dancing shoes and celebrate.

I BELIEVE ONLY GOD'S REPORT CONCERNING MY PREGNANCY. ...........

I'm typing this from scan center!


Went for scan this morning, was told to come back for a repeat by 4pm. So I went back for the repeat scan only to be told that there's fetal node without cardiac activity!

I'm 12wks today but scan says 9wks....Was told it could be a missed abortion, that if that is the case I will have to flush it and start all over again since baby is not progressing! But I should come back in two weeks time to repeat a scan and see how it goes before final conclusion!

I BELIEVE THAT MY BABY IS DOING JUST FINE.....So I refused to be downcasted!

Congrats to new mums and moms to be..just can't keep up with reading old post, they are so much.

Its been a rough past two weeks..I've been terribly ill.

Hubby was also robbed at gunpoint while travelling to abk.. his atm cards taken and all his bank account cleaned out to zero, cash, jewelry, his phones were taken too, so he had to use my own in the meantime, cos its important he's connected online due to his job..so i had to use a smaller phone.. can't even remember my NL password and i didn't bother to retrieve it on my laptop too.

However, I am glad he is alive..i couldn't imagine losing him like that. That thought is unbearable..i'm just so thankful to God for sparing his life..couldn't thank Him enough

Thank God he is alive dear God will return everything he lost in multiple folds,please don't worry yourself God will perfect everything that concerns you be good dear

I slept off last night and was woken up at 2am by a sharp pain.. I took my bath by 2:30am and tried sleeping back by 3. Got to the hospital by 5:30 and the nurses checked and said I wasn't dilating and that all the pains I felt last night and still feeling is false. That I should come back next week Tuesday. I've been crying and I'm still crying because it's painful. I'm going to be offline for a while. Thanks for the show of love I really do appreciate, proudmom38 help me thank prouddad. Thanks to everyone..
