Interview is so subjective that nobody can predict . Sometimes if you give up then you never know but only you can know when it time to stop because i too don beleive in getting No no .

Public Admin does not require test scores? Lwkmd! What the hell are you saying?

I worked with some Public Admin and Public Policy Fall 19 candidates. They all submitted test scores to join their programs and some of them have secured their visas without stress. Of course, they all applied to very good schools, not some shady school that doesn't require test scores.

Your insult doesn't change anything. It is left for you to accept your mistakes and work towards correcting them. Goodluck with that.

I am sorry about what happened ok.
The VO works 100% with what is stated on the transcript. That's why it is advised to request for a new transcript if what is stated is obviously different from what is presented. The VO has a target to attend to a lot of people within a short span of time and might not have the time to start requesting for individual documents.

Please take your time for your next interview.

i agree .. please what do you think.. i have learnt from this experience.. it was after the 1st denial i joined nairaland.. UNFORTUNATELY I didnt even know this was going to be a prob.. Same 120 had English proficiency is required, then later stated tht English is proficient but the VO wasnt looking at that wld get a screenshot later

Do you know how packed full the embassy is daily.... if they give everyone even airlines wont have the capacity to fly

The reality is however harsh it seems. The number of daily applicants are a lot and the embassy cannot give that much so they have to have techniques or guideline to deny

First, never conclude based on what you read here. Only the VO knows what was said and what happened.

Secondly, the transcript shew that the person needed to show English proficiency . So it was 100% the person's fault for not going with proof of proficiency.

The VO has a reason for denying approval.

We always mention here that every aspiring student should take tests (GMAT/GRE and TOEFL/IELTS) and go to their visa interviews with their test results. A lot of people here try to cut corners by avoiding the tests and most of them get themselves screwed up in the process.

For this particular case, I think you should blame the candidate for not appearing at the interview with the test scores.

Before going for your next interview, you need to get a good drill.

For the delivery , I think you got some benefits that you were not supposed to get as a noncitizen.

Response to ' why this school?' was not convincing at the second interview.
Also you should consider Canada express entry as a backup since you have a family.

ME: I beleive due to my 10 years work experience, i am due to hve a masters. i chose masters in public admin, due to my experience at my place of work, i have been a volunteer member of ........ where we help children living with ... and source for funds ....... at my place of work i have been moved to ..... desk where we help women ......... also i intend to own y own NGO in the future. with the masters in PUB Admin, i beleive it would give a boost to my career advancement and opportunity. i have been made the head of ... desk and after taking a study leave for this course it would help me gather the knowledge required to perform on the role.

VO: who is funding for this trip

ME: it is co sponsored by my husband and i

VO: Can i have your bank statement (i passed it and explained its our joint account statement.. which was sufficiently funded as indicated in the i 20)


VO: I just saw an inflow, why such all of a sudden.

ME: This was as a liquidation of our fixed deposit investment. (passed him a copy of the fixed deposit certificate) this is a copy of the fixed deposit certificate which shows it was liquidated yesterday. Its no longer valid because the investment was just liquidated due to todays interview. If you look at the statement you would notice the funds have been in the account since october but we had to invest it to get interests.

VO: ok this is fine, i see you stayed in the usa for over 2 months, what was this about

ME: I HAD OBTAINED A MEDICAL VISA IN 2017, AS I went to have a baby, this was indicated at my interview that i would be in the usa for that length of time.



VO: Do you have your receipts

ME: YES (PASSED the zero balance statement)

VO: (studied it for a while) how much did you pay for this, was it normal delivery or CS

me: Normal delivery, total was about $5k , this was the contract signed in the hospital for self pay

VO: OK , but i want you to note that these hospitals do some things behind you, and give you an affordable bill, a standard bill for delivery in the usa should be about $20k.

ME: i didnt know this, i met with the hospital and this was the bill given to me on a contract for self pay

VO: i know you dont know, but its ok. excuse me for a minute (he goes to meet one witch with the statement that had denied every single soul, probably his supervisor)

VO: sorrry about that i had to make a little clarification. (looks at the 1-20) Your i20 states that English proficiency is required, where is your English proficiency test.

ME: The school waived English test on my behalf as my B.SC was done in English, also i had done an IELTS test before the school waived it.

VO: (Getting Angry) WHERE IS IT

ME: unfortunately its nt here with me. I had obtained an admission from the school because i was qualified and submitted the necessary documents to the school. i wont have been offered the admission if i wasn't Proficient, can you please allow me to bring the documents later or send via email.

VO: Based on som conditions your VISA is not approved. You can come back for B1 B2 visa but you dont qualify for this visa.

ME: Please does this mean i cant school in the USA..

VO: It depends on who you meet but this is my decision.

kindly advise what i should have done better. i work in a reputable organisation. at the first interview it looked like i was getting it after spending 30 mins. i feel like the guy got upset cos he had moved on on the affordable hospital bill, then i now didnt bring my test result or letter from the school.

This has happened to my friend before. The VO clearly overlooked some documents. I wrote a letter of reconsideration on his behalf; the letter was stern but respectful. Like damn-the-consequence kind of thing. I asked my friend not to submit any new document, we just submitted all the previous documents and added just the letter as a new application. Visa issued 2 weeks later. If you need further information,you can ask.

Yeah, when you don’t agree with them on something and you can prove it beyond reasonable doubt they give it a pass mark. So I want you to make sure you make everything clear and understanble on your part. Tell them why she liquidated the investment in Nov, and also let them know the interest comes in every 3 6 or 12 months depending on how her investment tenure is. Then inform them in a letter that your access bank has your savings and that you can fund part of her expenses on this trip. And finally, there is a box on the application form that’s says do you have any additional information as part of your application? Please on that box fill in all the documents you adding as support document to her application. One more thing, is she going on tour or visiting family ?

Lol, I didn’t skip anything.. you can go for reconsideration, however you should break it but by bit with a letter explaining why the deposit in her account is irregular and how the interest of a tbill comes in. (ie not monthly), and again make it clear in the letter that your access bank account has your savings and that the Gtb is only a salary account. I hope it turns positive for her this time.

To be honest with you, it's not a case of negligence from the VO. There's a lot to say but I will just make it brief. Firstly your mom need to show the VO that she have income which is clearly not the case of your application., instead of having the tbill liquidated she should have rolled it over and since it looks like the investment tenure isn't 90 days which made it impossible for the interest to reflect in the statement she should have just used a certificate of investment from the bank rather than liquidating the funds in Nov last year which made it looked like she staged it. All she needed was to write a letter stating that the investment proceeds comes every 6 months which is verifiable. Secondly you said you are your moms sponsor with only 1k pounds that's too small with the current rate of ticket now that money isn't enough for her two ways ticket. In my opinion I think you applying for reconsideration isn't the issue now, you should explain how your moms tbill works because they didn't see any deposit from her tbill interest., again your access bank doesn't really matter now because your sponsor pledge is way too small given that she has no other income. The VO knows your mom wouldn't use her tbill investment capital to fund a visit to UK.

my moms application was just denied due to negligence of the VO which is very annoying. As the sponsor of her trip, i submitted 2 bank statements with a cover letter explaining that the GTB statement was to show my salary while access bank was to show my savings (balance of about 4m) can u believe they didn't even look at the access account. They said my GTB statement has just 390k (salary acc) hence as the sponsor i am not sufficiently funded to sponsor my mom .
another annoying fact is that the VO claims my moms account had a lump deposit in November 2018 (which we explained was a Treasury Bill Maturity) with evidence from the bank. Imagine this same VO claims they are not satisfied she can fund the trip. Is this madness? This Tbill has been my moms savings over the years which she has been rolling over once it matures. The VO didnt even look at the investment advise or any supporting document. In my moms account it was so obvious she had to investment over a while. Do u think i shd reapply and represent the documents again. This time i would state all the documents provided in my form and let them know we had provided evidence of the funds in this application but it wasnt looked at,

I was denied twice january this year.
NB(i already posted my transcript here )I wrote my school to defer my admission but they accepted me again for May Entry, i don't know if its too sudden or if i should wait till August Entry. Am looking at the Embassy perspective .
Awaiting ur suggestions plz

others might say i know x and y in that school but when............ It is not easy to get a visa so choose your school and your package wisely
