I heard that ILS will be placed on both ends of the runway. While that is commendable, i think it would be best to have ILS only on Runway 24 for now. Just because of how much it costs to set up a Category 2 ILS on just one runway alone. A ton of money still needs to be spent on other priorities needed in getting the facility functional this year.
post=98614719: Folks we just finished covering Anambra international Cargo airport, Airport road and ICC with drone, the video will be out tomorrow by God's grace, I most commend governor Obiano for trying so hard to pull these through, workers were even working today Sunday, the project is massive you can't even see end of the runway from where we were standing, fog couldn't allow us to get clear view, dry season is worst period to fly drone, we overstretched the drone when we were trying to get the full coverage because of security men but we couldn't, the drone didn't reach the tower we had to return the drone, from what we saw the project is massive. Watch out for the video
This Anambra Airport, when completed will it be transferred and managed by federal government under FAAN, or will it be operated and managed by Anambra state government
Yunno all this airport listed more than 40,60% of their passengers traffic are Anambra indigines not to talk of cargo, Anambra has highest commercial activities in Nigeria and west africa and with exception of Lagos Anambra has more infrastructure, industries, economic activities and many more than those states that has airport listed, Anyways, This is not my question bro, my question is how was those cities\states in 19's when there airport was built?
mktinsight: Lets get one thing straight. An airport is not a monument it is a BUSINESS. Look at it in BUSINESS terms not SENTIMENT, not patriotism, not love for Anambra. BUSINESS. Each International passenger is worth 20 times more than the average domestic passenger so an international airport makes a lot more sense than a domestic one.
Mktinsight you haven't answered my question, I'm still waiting for your reply on this
WireWire22: Bro please let me ask you How was Kano, Lagos, Enugu, Owerri, PH when there airport was built, how beautiful was those cities, what's there economic activities when there airport was built, please tell me Lagos airport handles less than 100,000 passengers annual around 19's when the airport was built, uptll now Owerri still don't have good roads compared to Anambra state yunno that each towns and villages has more than 3,5 roads around 2000's. Not to talk 2019 or of this 2020
Now Anambra has many commercial and economic activities, don't deserve an international airport.
Shame, but thanks God it's nearing completion and will be completed and comission very soon

mktinsight: Anambra should fix its cities before talking airport. Otherwise the airport will not be anything different from Asaba, Owerri or Enugu which are close by. More than that, rushing to build an airport in 18-24 months is a joke. The final result will be a mockery.
One day take your time and visit the airport site at Umueri then observe everything being done there.
mktinsight: A modern terminal to handle 1m passengers costs over 400m dollars or 25 billion naira. The pictures of the skeleton of the terminal shows a tiny local airport to handle a few hundred passengers a day.
Is that needed? . I have been to over 30 airports around the world both large and small. Anambra should fix its cities before talking airport. Respect people's alternative view. I do not support a white elephant airport in a state where neither Awka or Onitsha can boast simple water supply or even modern infrastructure of even a small town in the US that has an airport.
Who told you Anambra state doesn't have money to complete the project, you are surprised I think, because you thought the project won't work lol, shame on you.
Secondly, don't you know that Morden airport terminals are built with steel, or are you surprised that Anambra state is building most modern airport in Nigeria and even Africa
mktinsight: Gigantic project? HAHAHA. My university cafeteria was the same size as this midget terminal and built the same way. It's called pre fabricated structural steel. Something Americans discovered 50 years ago. Still the work is not in putting the steel together but the finishing.
Again it seems like ANSG have woken to the fact that they don't have the money to build a world class terminal so they are building a small airport.
The Awka Millennium City is a world class estate, More than the luxury estate Onitsha. That AMC will be the most beautiful and unique estate through out the SS and SE. Don't compare it with the luxury estate.
REGENMASTER: Go and check out what they are doing at Awka Millenium City! Great world class estate. If Nkwelle one is Onitsha class estate, then no issue here. But my advice is, If you have money, spend it well. No cutting corners. Some of you arguing here have not gone past Onitsha in their lives so you should listen to us world citizens as we advise our Igbo investors to do the right thing to make Alaigbo competitive.
Good news for the people of Onitsha, Anambra state and South East is Onitsha Port Complex is fully operational and receiving barges and vessels from different parts of the world. The port was Commissioned on 5th, October 2020 by Chief Dr. George Moghalu the MD/CEO of NIWA
Me too will go there, lemme see the massive construction arena my self
UmuEri: Just stop at Awkuzu junction. Enter any Bus/shuttle going to Umueri/Otuocha, and tell the driver to stop you at Airport road. (The Airport road is by the left immediately after Oyi Bridge which is the boundary between Nteje and Umueri)
From that Airport road you just walk-down the Airport

I don't really understand, like if I enter bus at Onitsha now, through Oni-Enu express road now. I will tell them to drop me at awkuzu junction? So now the main airport road is currently underconstruction, so I will enter bike that will drop me at nteje through marist comprehensive school college. So what next??
post=93912277: The major road to the airport is by express before FRSC Nteje, you will notice massive work on the dual carriage road to the airport, they will not allow you to use the road, just drive to Okwuzu junction drive down to Nteje after Marist Comprehensive College once you get to Umueri you will see Airport Road by your left, just follow the road it will lead you to the site
