Olu Jacobs: Battling False Death Rumors for the Third Time In an unsettling recurrence, Nigerian veteran actor Olu Jacobs has once again been the target of death hoaxes. This marks the third instance where rumors of his demise have spread like wildfire across social media and other platforms, causing distress among fans and family alike. Despite repeated clarifications from his family, particularly his wife, Joke Silva, the misinformation persists, highlighting a concerning trend that calls for immediate attention and action. The Persistent Rumors Olu Jacobs, an iconic figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry, has been subjected to false death reports multiple times. Each time, his family, especially his devoted wife Joke Silva, has had to come forward to debunk these baseless claims, providing proof of his well-being. Despite their efforts, the cycle of misinformation continues, causing unnecessary panic and emotional turmoil. The Impact on Family and Fans The repeated dissemination of these false reports is not only distressing for Olu Jacobs' family but also for his legion of fans who hold him in high regard. The emotional strain on his family, particularly his wife, who has had to constantly reassure the public of her husband’s health, is considerable. This situation underscores the broader issue of the mental and emotional toll such rumors can have on individuals and their loved ones. The Need for Investigation Given the frequency and persistence of these false death rumors, it is imperative that steps be taken to investigate the sources of these malicious reports. Whether it is the government or a private entity with the technical expertise, identifying and holding accountable those who perpetuate these lies is crucial. The spread of false information is not just a trivial matter; it has real-world implications that can deeply affect lives. Technological Solutions In an era where technology plays a pivotal role in communication, it is essential to use technology to combat misinformation. Tools such as advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning can be employed to trace the origins of these rumors and curb their spread. Social media platforms also need to take proactive measures to ensure that such harmful content is quickly identified and removed. A Call for Responsibility Beyond technological solutions, there is a need for increased responsibility among individuals who consume and share information. Verifying the authenticity of news before sharing it can go a long way in preventing the spread of false information. Media literacy and critical thinking should be promoted to help individuals discern fact from fiction.

As META Recognizes Nigeria For Facebook Monetization, Here Are A Few Points To Note; 1. Don't be too fast to submit your tax information/setup 2. In as much as the monetization dashboard has read 'reside in eligible country' let's wait for official announcement otherwise when meta would have updated thier information to add Nigeria officially as an eligible country. 3. Be careful the kind of content you post as well as comments you make as soon as you get monetized. 4. Remember that Facebook pays for originality and be ready to do original content only because you can't just download someone's content and repost and then expect Facebook to pay you. Instead the original owner will still be receiving revenue on the content. 5. Finally you have joined the dollar gang, please don't get dêprêssed when the dollars are not coming in as expected because fb go whine you but no panic.
Can please explain more on this, I want to start earn from my painting job What it means is that you can be postin your paintins and art work on your facebook page and earn from it. It is not profile, I mean a facebok page. Firstly, you have to see it as a a hubby. post frequently and avoid copying others post. with time if u meet other requirements, u will apply for the monetization and those videos will convert to cents and dollars.\ In this 21st centuary, everybody needs a page |
brightDdon:I have replied u. pls remove ur number to avoid scammerz. U can also qute me here and make your inquiry so that others can learn |
ately1:You get vision MAN.I SWEAR I see you making it in few years. Just be consistent and dont quit whe the dollar is not coming as u expected. SLOW and STEADY is a key to content creation |
U argue blindly! Nigerian content creators relied on their counterpart in eligible country. MC A1, Mc Akonauche and other are the ones in UK helping Nigerians ahome. The also take their percentage. 20/80 My brother was earning $120 and he shares with the people who monetized it for him. I have meet the requirements except following their guideline which I will fix in the coming week DONT ARGUE BLINDLY, USE GOOGLE IF U MUST ARGUE |
helinues:It was not. It became eligible last night by 11;58pm |
I opened this thread few days ago to register my displedge on the delays of enlisitng Nigerian as eligible country. ( See thread Facebook Have Failed Nigerian Content Creators Like Nigeria Governement https://www.nairaland.com/8136657/facebook-failed-nigerian-content-creators) Last night been 27th June 2024, I opened my app and saw Nigeria is now eligible and we can now earn from our content. I am the most happiest person because I will now start family content with my wife and children. We will pursue facebook money with all seriousness. My target is now $200 per month for a start. Facebook is not Nigerian government that does promise and fail after all. It seems this Tinubu regime will favr Nigerians at a long run. I see HOPE FOR NIGERIA!

The possibility of a Kenyan-style revolution happening in Nigeria seems unlikely due to long time bitterness among Youths from the 3 ethnic groups. In Kenya, the government's tax hike led to a unified, though tragic, protest that resulted in the revocation of the bill yesterday. However, in Nigeria, the multi-ethnic composition presents a significant barrier to such unity among the Youths. If one ethnic group, such as the Yoruba or Igbo, initiates a protest, other regions may not support it, often viewing it through an ethnic or political lens. I could vividlyremeber how they tag endsar movement as IPOB revolution. They claimed IPOB traveled dow to Lagos to destroy Tinubu"s Television House and Lagos state properties. They whole protest was twisted and blames later shifted to IPOB when we all knew it was 1000boyz and other hard criminals and touts that hijacked the protest. The distrust and division among Nigeria's ethnic groups would likely prevent a collective movement, making a unified revolution against issues like hunger and governance improbable again in the History of Nigeria. The truth is that the government holds the Youth to a ransome-like in Nigeria. They can impose any rules and use the iron hand of oligarchy to back it up and nno one dare question such taxes. WHO DARES?? NON! |
I am freelance writer. I dont have a platform, I write to express concerns of my fellow nairalanders who are into content creations |
WRITTEN BY WISEWRITER A TRUE NAIRALAND FAN Nigerian content creators are expressing their frustration and disappointment with Facebook after the social media giant failed to deliver on its promise to enable monetization for users in Nigeria by June 2024. The silence from Facebook has sparked outrage among creators who had hoped to start earning revenue from their content this month. In March 2024, Facebook announced that Nigerian users would become eligible for monetization, a move that was met with enthusiasm from the country’s vibrant community of content creators. However, as of June 25th, there has been no further communication or action from Facebook, leaving many creators in limbo. The delay has drawn parallels to the Nigerian government, often criticized for its unfulfilled promises and slow implementation of policies. Content creators feel let down, as they had already planned strategies around the anticipated monetization rollout. "I was really looking forward to this opportunity to finally make a living from my content on Facebook, It's frustrating that we are still waiting with no clear communication from Facebook. It feels like they have forgotten about us." Facebook's monetization tools, such as in-stream ads, fan subscriptions, and branded content support, have been available in many countries for some time. The expansion to Nigeria was seen as a significant step towards recognizing and supporting the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerian content creators. However, the lack of follow-through has left many feeling ignored and undervalued. "It's not just about the money; it's about being recognized and given the same opportunities as creators in other countries "This delay sends a message that we are not a priority." Despite repeated attempts to get a response from Facebook, the company has remained silent on the issue, providing no updates or explanations for the delay. This lack of transparency has only added to the frustration. The situation highlights broader issues faced by Nigerian creators in the digital economy. Many feel that global platforms do not adequately support or understand the unique challenges and potential of the Nigerian market. The unmet promise of monetization is a stark reminder of the gaps that still exist. Nigerian creators are calling for immediate action and clear communication from Facebook. They want the company to honor its commitment and provide a concrete timeline for when monetization will become available. As the wait continues, the creativity and resilience of Nigerian content creators remain undiminished, but their patience is wearing thin. They hope that Facebook will soon address their concerns and fulfill its promise, allowing them to thrive and succeed on the platform. |
Nigerian law seems to be favoring the Northern Oligarchies only. Is Nnamdi Kanu more terrorist than Boko Haram boys that were freed and reintegrated back to the society? Is IPOB more terrorist than Fulani Herdsmen? Why did FG proscribe IPOB and treats FULANI HERDSMEN with Kids glove? There is no justice in this country for ndigbo! Truly with what I am seeing I swear to u that Northerns will prefer a K-IDNAPA than an IGBO ma to RULE NAIJA |
