Listening is driving me crazy, I have written ielts 4 times in the past 45 days ( cbt ), and in all I had 7.5 in listening. I am unsure what to do again. House, For someone with ADHD, how can I get 8 in listening?

What is usually your score in practice tests? You should aim to get 9 while practising

Do you try to read questions before listening to the audio? It is recommended to read and try to like guess what the answer might be and the validate with what you are able to get from the audio
Do you pay attention to the instructions, ONE WORD AND/OR A NUMBER etc.
You may want to know the different valid formats for writing things like time, date etc.

It is very likey you already know these but just in case..

If you are really curious about what is going on with your application. You can contact Bundesverwaltungsamt. Applications go through them.

Send an email to zzVISABVA@bva.bund.de or call their phone number. They will need your name and passport number.

They can tell if they are awaiting physical copies of your documents or whether they are with the Ausländerbehörde already. Your spouse in Germany can take it up from there if the latter is the case.

If they don't have any info, your application has not left Lagos.

Has anyone tried this? Did you get any response?

As usual, no booklet.

I left Lagos, went to Abeokuta, paid ₦35,000 instead of ₦17,000 official money, yet still story.

I'm just tired of everything. I believe so much in Nigeria, but with the way are going now, I just might give up.

On Monday, I have to visit Abeokuta again to go beg the director and possibly bribe him so my passport can be printed.

Nigeria is almost finished

Hope you have your passport issue sorted now?

My 2 cents: Make sure you take your time to gather as many evidence as possible to support your application and try do it yourself. Usually they try to verify the information in your documents. The verification could be in form of interview (phone), please make sure your responses are in tandem with docs submitted earlier.

Hi Everybody! I just got AL from Paderborn. I want to book my appointment and I don't know if I should book as Category A or B.

The website says if you're "holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Lower Class and being accepted for a master's degree (also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program) or PhD study in Germany," and I had a First Class.

The appointment booking website also has this option "Registration for a long term visa (more than 90 days) for students of the category A (TestAS certificate standard score of 100 - 130 / very good B-1 certificate / good B-2 certificate / bachelor's degree 1. Class - 2. Lower Class / scholarship / research hosting agreement)"

which course please?

Sorry o my people. It seems quite a number of persons are going to OVGU. I thought schools in East Germany are generally not advisable. Or OVGU has got something different.

NB: I am new on this platform. I need guidance abeg.

June 1st is my target. All documents ready and just waiting for funds to keep flowing into company account.

I'm the Managing Partner and the office is sponsoring me. Hence, company account would be used even though I'm the signatory

You're right on logistics. I was given Visa to AU on 31st August and left Nigeria on 1st September, and bought last minute Ticket for ₦913,000 instead of ₦650,000 as at 1st of August, in 2017
Visitor's Visa for families and relatives of the victims of Christchurch terrorist attack are being given priorities. Someone applied for Visa in March and was told clearly in the acknowledgement email that the application will be processed by June 17

Just like femi advised, it is better to give that allowance.

Please I need guide on how to send my passport I’m a bit confused on how to go about it. And how much does it cost. Please help me. Thanks

You can get it sent via a courier service. If you made online application make sure you send along the Thank You page you get after submitting your application.

The cost depends on the courier company you are using. I v seen people use DHL and UPS. FedEx may tell you they don't send passport except to an embassy AND VAC may not qualify as embassy.
To send alone, DHL costs between 30-40k while UPS is 14-20k.

Getting it sent back costs even more for each of these companies.

Thank you ugsams.

Well you are right. The visa process takes a long time now and providing evidence as a bona-fide is even more difficult.

This visa ll expire in 14 months from now so I factored the long process in. I used the 8 months for like worst case scenario.

We re hoping to get 1year extension as the program is like a pathway style. 1 year for a part and if the student qualifies he/she gets variation to visa and get 1 additional year for stay in NZ for the other part of the prog. We can't stay beyond as the student is on a scholarship and one for them they don't get work permit afterwards they have to leave NZ with their families within 2 weeks angry undecided

Kindly give tips on how to convince the Visa Officer that you ll come back when visa expires.

Thanks once again

The visa category you’ve mentioned is a very good one to come to NZ with. It’s an open work visa which means u can work anywhere in NZ and no restrictions on the number of hours u can work, even though ur student partner can only work 20hrs/w

The choice of which city to stay will depend on your personal research. Dunedin is down the South Island, very cold and jobs might be hard to get. I personally would advise North island.

But if u choose to stay in Dunedin, working on a farm or hospitality might be something to consider. I haven’t been to Dunedin but I believe students of Otago University are those who majorly come to NZ to live there.

When u run out of extension, if ur employer is accredited, then they can sponsor u for another 2-3 yrs essential skill visa.

P.S; remember u have to live with your student partner to qualify for an extension..... if extension is not possible, then it’s not worth it.
Can I PM you. The thing is a lil complicated.

Hello. I need your inputs. I am in a bit of dilemma. - should I go or should I not??,

With student partner work visa : 8 months for a start with possible 1 year extension

I want to know how easy can one get a job in North Dunedin - could be anywhere in country really buy my preference is Dunedin for personal reasons .

Must one hold a driver's license?

Because I'm not sure if my skills will be acceptavle in NZ or not please, like how much can one make with 'any' job. Need some money to further education.

I am presently at a place that deprives me access to power supply so I can't check it on my laptop and my phone can't enable me register on ETS website.

So I asked the question to find out from those that registered recently.

I am sorry for not providing answer to your query. I didn't see it from that perspective. I should have ignored since I did not have answer. kiss undecided

Power for instance is a specialization in Electrical which most international students find it hard to get jobs because, most companies in that sector need clearance. That is not to say that some students don't end up with jobs but you need to see the reality of things.

MY GRE EXPERIENCE

I told myself that whether or not the result is a 'good' result. I must give an account of my experience. I must say, initially there was this feeling of 'my story is not inspiring , why share?'

I got to the venue quite early, like 45 minutes before the scheduled time. You get checked in as soon as you are ready and so you may start earlier than your scheduled time just like it happened to many of us. i Planned to got to the venue with banana, nuts, snacks and energy drink grin grin but only ended going with lucoz.. and that was enough. Although, i noticed my verbal section was getting ready to start probably because i didn't choose to go for 10 min break. it is important to take everything said on this platform seriously.

it was VQVQV. it really was not important spotting which of the sections is the experimental. the first quantitative was a roller coaster. Second quantitative however, was not joy all through. i got stuck with the DI, could not interpret the table. I lost my composure and had to guess 3 questions, that was a very bad thing to do and that i thought was my greatest undoing. The problem was pacing, and not creating enough time for the later part. I got complacent, not very mindful of my pace and i got punished.
Verbal on the other hand - during Prep i discovered late that my RC improved and the nuances in TC was a latent problem. especially three blanks types. I used to get like half of the total number of TC questions. Therefore I was not expecting so much from verbal, just hoping to be lucky. grin shocked

Prospective test takers should be methodical in their preparations. you must be able to track your progress, have a separate note from the one you work and scribble on. After that taking a full length practice test, a thorough review must be done make sure the problems are addressed.i did not do all that, not because i did not want to but because of work schedule. i get home tired everyday.

LASTLY, IT IS BETTER TO KNOW THE CODE OF THE INSTITUTIONS YOU MAY WANT TO SEND YOUR SCORES TO, I ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM WHEN I SAW UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AND not UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, KNOXVILLE, BEARING IN MIND THERE IS UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE CHATANOOGA and other ones. AT LEAST you may not have to pay for that should you apply to that school later.

In the end, it was V:154 Q157 i saw after reporting the scores. BELOW MY EXPECTATION REALLY BUT ALL PRAISE STILL BELONG TO THE ALMIGHTY. I WILL TRY APPLICATIONS WITH THIS AND I AM QUITE HOPEFUL.

PROFILE:
GPA: 4.35/5.00 (3.62/4.00 WES EQUIVALENT)

5 YEARS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE.

MS/PHD- ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

MASDAR INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ABU DHABI
COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY FT COLLINS
UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE
SIUE

I SINCERELY HOPE THE GRE WILL BE DEEMED GOOD ENOUGH TO MERIT FULL FUNDING.

NOTE:PLEASE IF YOU HAVE BENEFITED FROM THIS THREAD IN ONE WAY OR THE OTHER, THE LEAST YOU CAN DO TO GIVE BACK IS SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCE. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE.

You are right, shipping it to Nigeria isn't easy. A family friend just brought one for me on behalf of a friend and he told me he wasn't allowed to send it .

Hehen!!. But since i got that sent via Royal mail. You may want to consider Royal mail. It can be crazy though cos as soon as it leaves the UK, U cannot track as Nipost tracking service is dysfunctional. But the best option is someone u know bring it down in person.

I sincerely wish I could help. The guy is leaving very very soon.(in days) It does not have to be shipped to uk gan gan. The drug is being shipped from Germany to quite a number of countries in Europe and Oceania in case u hv people elsewhere

I will let u know just in case I can get someone else anyway. I might also hv to get additional 90 day pack later.

We are here to help each other. The shipping is a little tricky. Mine just arrived few days ago. It was in transit for a month. Royal Mail was used though cheap but the experience was not interesting at all. It was sent for checks as it was suspected to contain prohibited item. Guess they had not been used to send the drugs before or it was just because d destination was Nigeria I wouldn't know. It passed d Test sha.

Just make sure you find out from the courier if they can send it.

Perhaps one of the reasons for the rather exorbitant amount being charged is cos of d shipping cost from more reliable courier like DHL nd co.
