italo: Who else is reading/has read "Evangelii Gaudium?"
The Holy Father encourages us to imbibe and express the joy of our encounter with Jesus...like the Apostles always did, even when it is hard to be joyful.
One powerful quote I find there is: "There are Christians whose lives seem like Lent without Easter."
I also like two more things:
1. He speaks in very simple and practical language.
2. It is loaded with scripture citations. In fact, he uses scripture to speak.
I love it already...and I'm only on Chapter 1.

Enigma: And of course that mumu "pope" was not content to reject Acts chapter 15 for his Roman Catholic Church denomination; he declares others who accept Acts 15 to be ---- yep you guessed it, anathema! lol
"Since the Roman Pontiff, by the divine right of the apostolic primacy, governs the whole Church, we likewise teach and declare that he is the supreme judge of the faithful [52], and that in all cases which fall under ecclesiastical jurisdiction recourse may be had to his judgment [53]. The sentence of the Apostolic See (than which there is no higher authority) is not subject to revision by anyone, nor may anyone lawfully pass judgment thereupon [54]. And so they stray from the genuine path of truth who maintain that it is lawful to appeal from the judgments of the Roman pontiffs to an ecumenical council as if this were an authority superior to the Roman Pontiff.
That is another of those things technically known as --- utter rubbish. --------------------------
"So, then, if anyone says that the Roman Pontiff has merely an office of supervision and guidance, and not the full and supreme power of jurisdiction over the whole Church, and this not only in matters of faith and morals, but also in those which concern the discipline and government of the Church dispersed throughout the whole world; or that he has only the principal part, but not the absolute fullness, of this supreme power; or that this power of his is not ordinary and immediate both over all and each of the Churches and over all and each of the pastors and faithful: let him be anathema."
Vatican I is not only one of the most idiotic things, it is even satanic!

Enigma: "Infallible" "pope":

versus
Genesis 3
15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your off spring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
Genesis 3:15 that king James and his hired translators changed to their own test Read Rev 12, the vases in chapter 12 confirm Gen 3:15 |

truthislight: It is going to be a very foolish question if you dont give us scriptural backing for it.
Or, are you a lawless bunch ? That you can do whatever you like and call it tradition ?
Where does tradition start where does it end ?
Is it an open cheque to do whatever one likes ?
Dont you know that if it is not the expressed will of the father it is lawlessness ?
So, better validate it as scriptural.
Peace why ar u hurt?? Answer the questions and stop nagging |

truthislight: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. " (Matthew 7:21).
So, which directive of the heavenly father did you get this infallibilty doctrin from ?
Anything not from God in his faith is 'lawlessness'. pointless |

italo: @OP, if your account is true and accurate, then I can only be sorry for the bad experience you went through.
It is true. Many are not as Good as the Church teaches them to be.
However, I dont want to give a long speech. You say you're Catholic. I presume you try to be a good one. Is it possible that it is you that God wants to use to change many of those Catholic youths?
Think about it. There is a committee that plans the procession. Why dont you join them as soon as possible and see how you can restore decorum and sober reflection to these processions which are in themselves, a holy practice.
You can start getting more active in your parish and if people see that you are doing things right, you'll get a chance to serve in a bigger capacity.
Think about it, brother. You brothers and sisters went into the streets to proclaim Christ, while you stayed at home to enjoy yourself. Then you criticize them for unruly behaviour (though that is good). But imagine if you were in that "mob" at that moment. Perhaps you would have told them "guys, it's okay. We shouldn't be doing this."
Perhaps, you would have sown a good seed that would grow in others.
God has given you this gift to hate such conduct. That annoyance you feel is a holy annoyance. If truly, you are Catholic, a true son of the Church, and not just "Catholic for mouth," then God is calling you to use this gift to build up his Church. There are Catholics who feel these things and are doing their bit to correct them. Be one of them...and dont worry if the odds are against you. It was with only 12 men that Christ changed the world.
Start now, brother. Get off your couch and do what you can to help God's Church.
Dont just be a critic who does nothing to build. That is also a sin.
God bless you." secondly dont always think 'only' on what the church will do for you, rather think of what you will do for the growth/benefit of the church.. Sorry for the bad experience, you and i knws that the church does not teach that.. Udo |
