Congrats! With your explanation, I think about $17k should be enough to show on your SoA: 4k+ balance from the tuition, $10k for housing and about $3k for IHI & MCP.

How long did it take to get a response from them? I also have a pending app with them and seriously looking to get started this fall so that it could form part of my PGWP.

Can I send you a PM, please?

Thanks sure bro

Where the problem lies is, how do u relate your bsc to your intended masters program. That's the main huddle cos your current work experience does tally with your intended course.. you need to work hard on your sop to show how genuine you are to be able to get funding as well.

My Bachelors degree correlates perfectly with the program i want to study. I can show all the proofs of sources of funds, everything. I am just bothered if its sane to sponsor myself. If self sponsoring has ever gotten anyone a study permit.

Will they be bothered about why digital marketing has been my source of income and not a job related to what i want to go and study. By the way, i finished serving last year.

1) What's your intended course and your area of freelance

2) Although nobody can tell you exactly how much, but you need to show school fees Balance of $4,666 + 10,000 for living expenses and miscellaneous expenses for flight and other possible expenses( rent).
So basically, u should show a balance for $20,000 since you are self-sponsored cos once you leave naija, no hope of money coming from u except from family.

They said internationl students would be asked to attend classes online for fall 2020.

Your " realistic" arguments is based on deep pessimism, how does people being optimistic hurt you exactly?! Cos I'm not understanding

All i can say here is that our argument (no matter how valid or invalid) has nothing to do with the the reopening of international borders. Hence, we should rather commit ourselves to prayers, positive spirit and mindset. We should all see that this is a global war of pandemic that is way more than our desire to port out of Nigeria. We all need God intervention

So our argument should be channeled towards encouragement, patience and prayer. Things will not be like this forever. We shouldn't pick argument over what we can't control. I wish you'll peace

I still have awaiting decision here... You might have probably moved to the next stage..
I think it follows the order
1) Awaiting document submission
2) Awaiting decision
3) Awaiting confirmation
4)....

Tobironke:
Good evening everyone. I just checked my BGSU application portal and I noticed my application status has changed from "awaiting decision" to "awaiting confirmation" and I don't understand what this means. Did you have the same experience please?

I searched out the graduate coordinators for individual departments then I started emailing them.

Thanks, but the waiver is only applicable to undergraduate admissions. Not for graduate

Biomedical Science is good. Master or PHD is good too. Usually all Master and PHD students get a job in campus, sometimes out of campus, financial help and career job offers, most of these students come with money (10-20K) for the start but after few months, they find ways to work and are supported financially (grants, etc). People like you are very welcome to US.

Send them more emails, now many stay at home (quarantine), maybe they can't access their emails from home. Also it's good to send the same email to other people from the same program, now all are staying home and they may fire the people (your program coordinator) or it's the new coordinator assigned. Don't be shy, email and ask, it will work.

Which program? Mine is MS Technology and the Graduate Coordinator said you have to be done with a semester to be considered for GA. A new policy for the Technology program according to him.

ETSU gave me admission into Biomedical sciences Msc. I requested for funding and the program coordinator told me they are working on funding in March. Up till now, no response to mail... What can i do?

Let's imagine that as a Nigerian on a Ghanian forum you offer to help a Ghanian that just got admission into unilag and that person replies with.

"Thanks but that is not the help I need, I am familiar with Surulere, Yaba, Ikotun . I have visited Nigeria numerous things with a visitor Visa since age 11(13 years ago) and have relatives there
But please the above questions is what I need help with"

Exactly, funny enough, basic things of life are not thought in school.

Courtesy demands that whenever we are offered something tangible, even when we don't need it, we should make sure we reject it in a way that we don't close doors on others that might need it in the future. It is a simple way of living life

Since no one will talk about this, i will call it Pride in Humility Disguise (PHD). You could have turned down the offer more politely without stating your travel history. The same person might not want to offer something like that to anyone here in the future.
