This herdsmen thing is getting out of hand. Went to akwa ibom n was told that herdsmen brought their cows to one of our cassava farms and destroyed the crops there, on further enquiries, I learnt other residents around the area who confronted d herdsmen were threatened by this herdsmen. Use to think its a distant battle but its getting clearer that harm to one is harm to us all. Its high time communities arise n tell this herdsmen to vacate to wherever they originated from. |

otokx: There is corruption in Federal Universities which Buhari via TSA has detected.
Our new VC identified 7 non gazeted (illegal) allowances which hitherto have been paid from internal generated revenue.
Now that all incoming money goes to FG, the university mgt is unable to continue their financial wizardry so staff that earned such money have reduced salaries.
There are also cases of retired workers who continue to be included in payroll, also cases of employment of staff through irregular channels not documented with NUC.
All that leads to a perceived reduction from FG but truth be told the problem is in the various bursary/finance units of the universities and research institutions. When salaries for All staff of a university is reduced then the problem is from the federal government |

Politics › Federal Government Not Paying Full Salary To Staff In February by wordychap(op): 6:12pm On Mar 03, 2016 |
Staff of some Universities in the country where shocked when they received just 80% of their monthly salary for February. This was attributed to a drop in the amount allocated to the universities. Prior to getting their salary alerts, some VC's of universities had an interactive session with members of staff and communicated the intended reduction which was vehemently opposed by the staff members, but just as it was already decided, the next day, part salaries where paid. Many asked 'is this the change we bargained for?', first increase in price of commodities in the market immediately followed by a reduction in staff renumeration. Fuel crises seems to have come to stay causing increase in cost of living so Government should rather be thinking of cushioning the effect on its staff not reducing their take home pay. Meanwhile some State Government proposed reduction in staff salary but it seems the Federal Government has beaten them to the game. The call is for the Government to revert its decisions and pay staff their due salaries. |

robosky02: The U-23 Eagles will only need a draw of any kind in their final group game against Algeria to qualify for the semi-finals of the on-going CAF U-23 Nations Cup if Egypt expectedly beat Mali in their final group game, according to CAF rules governing qualification in case all three teams tie on points.
Article 68.2.3 of the competition makes the number of goals scored the deciding factor if the teams have the same goals difference. "The greatest number of goals scored in the matches between the teams concerned will be used to decide the qualifiers," reads the article.
A win for Egypt will take them to five points, same as Nigeria and Algeria if their game ends in a draw.
If this scenario presents itself after the conclusion of the group games on Saturday, Nigeria will pick a semi-final ticket. Algeria's chances of joining Nigeria will depend on the nature of the draw. If the game between Nigeria and Algeria ends from 3-3 upwards, then Algeria will
come second behind Nigeria but if the scoreline is 0-0 or 1-1, Algeria will be eliminated.
If the game ends in a 1-1 draw, then it presents another scenario as to who tops the group between Nigeria and Egypt as both will have the same number of goals scored and same number of goals conceded.
cc:lalasticlala,honeric01 Don't get it, If Nigeria draws Algeria, Algeria will have a +2 goal difference to Nigeria's +1 Gd, therefore Algeria qualifies ahead of Nigeria and if Egypt beats Mali by more than 1 goal, it means they have a greater goal difference to Nigeria therefore Egypt also qualifies and Nigeria drops. |
