That's how i am going to miss my trip. Sigh. I don't know why an embassy can't consider the departure date for a short term business VISA. Sigh!

This guy TheNoble007 is a false prophet. Don't be deceived. He's a big false prophet. All these false prophets have their MO, which they use to vaguely dish out so called prophecies, i have seen many of them. Well, my point in this exchange that has consumed a few pages here is that no matter how we hear from God or what He shows us, we should always learn not to force any word of knowledge or vision on anyone or any group of people. No one likes to be forced to accept anything no matter how truthful or even life-saving it might turn out to be.

Be like the prophets of old; speak what God has sent you to say and leave the people to accept or reject the prophecies or warnings. If God could do that to the Israelites, then we shouldn't have a problem doing that. This is because God gave us freewill and He respects that.

Now about the topic:

Everyone's Christian Life is different, which is why the word of God says that we should work out our own Salvation with Fear and Trembling.

I used to worship football a few years back. All I could think of was returning home to watch my favorite team play and since my team usually played on Sundays since they were now competing in the lower tier of European football, I always wanted to be home before 1:30pm.

Since church was in another state( Ota), whenever there was traffic, I would become restless and most times, angry. Should we lose as my team tends to do, I would be so depressed, I would even lose appetite. When we win, I felt like on top of the world. I was worshipping this game and I didn't know.

When I realized how thing has consumed my thoughts, I knew I had to do something. Breaking away from this was one of the most difficult thing I had ever broken away from. Masturbation was far more easier. I am not bluffing here.

Whenever I come online, I see mentions from fellow fans, and if you go to such threads on this forum, you will see people who are far worse than I was then. Go to Reddit and you will see people in severe bondage under this spirit. And the sad thing is that even pastors are not left out.

This is one of the reasons I had to put away my other moniker for now. Football worship is something else but I broke away from it by His Grace because it was an idol in my life.

I was also obsessed with checking out my face every time I looked into a mirror. I always found a reason to check out how handsome I was, how irresponsible how I was and how many stares I would get that day. Lol. I was obsessed with my own beauty. And of course, I would be on the lookout on who seem to look at me more than usual, especially when in church. Whatever was being preached that day passed me by, until I was truly saved, read a few books and realized my mistakes.

Now for others, it might not be football but basketball or cricket or American football which is like a tradition over there or baseball. Even desiring fellowship with your fellow guys all of the time can be an idol as well. So, this idol thing is peculiar to each person and they can be more than one in a person's life.

I have been to most churches in my short time on Earth and except God specifically tells me that I should stay in some of these churches with man-made doctrines, I won't. What I witnessed there no be here; most folks there have become so focused on outward appearance that their hearts are no in no way different from people that they condemn. Most not all please.

I don't support immorality but if your heart is truly sanctified and you seek the word of knowledge, noticing what is competing with God in your life shouldn't be hard. For me now, I am still struggling with my phone as an idol but I am working on it.

So once again, what is an idol is peculiar to each person so one vision doesn't cut it for all. I mean what about women who are completely SU but have other idols in their lives?

Anyways, I believe that word of knowledge should be for us to check what might be an idol in our lives as we end the year. That word wasn't a mistake. It might not be earrings or jewelleries or braiding of hair but something else we might not even be conscious of, hence the instructions to pray.

Please, Please, and Please, let's learn to leave ego aside and let the word of God prevail. This thread is for our edification so Brother Noble, if you have something about sports to tell us, please do and care less about what people say. A prophet doesn't care for validation or people's acceptance as he will report to God and not to men. Please, carry out the assignment God has given you with Fear and Trembling.

If this is not a brought upon dream and you've been modest, not lavish, excess. Then that means at the heart ear-rings was a detriment to your christian walk or an idol just the way expensive shoes were or Underwear were, or the watch you wear might be. So if the holy spirit has convicted you about it, like changedinchrist said, then you have to obey that conviction else it becomes a big sin because it's a heart thing.

I agree with changedinchrist's point. We actually can't know if theNoble007 or anyother person is telling the truth. We look at the word of God. And from the word of God, he is right. Under the new covenant, if you try to follow God through : do this , do that, do that which is not directly in the bible, or thorugh the law, then you are on the way to damnation

His point regarding the spirit of liberty is spot on. That was Paul's point all along. A christian lady has to be modest! But we don't know what is an idol in several people's lives. For some people, it might be Shoes, for others, underwear! We know what modesty is and extravagance and lavish, sensual dressing can easily be spotted out even if it doesn't come with attachment or makeup. That's the point of the new covenant. Any other, do this, do that IS not biblical oh.

But I once heard of someone who said he went to hell and saw a vision of some people in hell and turns out he was a false prophet. I am not saying you are but the point is regarding the issue of dressing, THE WORD OF GOD is clear.
