has warned the coach Stephen Keshi led-
side not to treat the game against Ethiopia
with levity stressing that against the
thinking of many, the East African side has
improved tremendously from the last time
the Super Eagles handed them a 2-0 defeat
at the AFCON 2013.
Oliseh, while x-raying the match, stated
that Ethiopia’s head coach, Sewnet Bishaw
and his boys had proven to be a more
determined side than ever in their effort to
make history.
According to Oliseh, it would be the
greatest error of the decade Nigeria would
make, as we face the final play-off phase to
the 2014 FIFA world cup in Brazil if they go
easy on the match in Addis Ababa.
“Prior to the draws being made out on
Monday 16th of September In Cairo, there
were nations I dreaded Nigeria playing
against, not because we cannot beat them,
but because of the delicacies that these
nations carry along with them for the Super
Eagles. These nations were Ivory Coast
(Revenge factor) Ghana and Cameroon
(Past history factor) and Last but not least
Ethiopia! Many will ask why Fear Ethiopia,
are they not minnows in the hierarchy of
African Football; did we not beat them at
the just concluded AFCON as we rode to
the Title?
Oliseh believes Ethiopia’s Head Coach,
Sewnet Bishaw is one of the best coaches
in Africa (if not the best) based on what he
has been able to achieve with this team and
the materials available at his disposal. Very
thoughtful in his remarks which even when
seeming lose have a well thought objective
behind every word. For example : “ It is a
good draw for both teams and we will be
looking forward to playing Nigeria again
after meeting them at AFCON 2013. At that
time we were just happy to get back into
top level competition and were
inexperienced but now we have had many

He therefore warned that Nigeria should
expect surprises from the Ethiopians. “The
team in my opinion was at the group stages
of the AFCON 2013 the best African Team.

on display at all times and had they had a
better striker would have qualified to the
next round at the detriment of either Nigeria
or Burkina Faso, the two teams who

Keshi has decided to freeze out the Yoruba players from the team but nobody wants to say it loud for fear of being labeled a tribalist, Aluko, Gbenga Arokoyo, Dele Adeleye, Haruna, Martins, Taiwo(because he is still playing week in week out) these players can only enrich any national team not diminish it but Keshi a full blooded Igboman has carried his hatred for the Yorubas into football and that is why some of us don't give a two hoots what happens to the Biafran national team masquerading as Eagles of Nigeria.

Onazi is playing as a defensive midfielder, Mikel is playing as a center midfielder..we need a fantastic attacking midfielder with good first touches (sunday Mba don't have) and can use both legs (John Ogu don't have) to fill dt position. The Haruna Lukman and Rabiu Ibrahim of 2007 are great for dt position (u choose either of dm).

edi287: Okwuosa and Egwuekwe are yet to show me why Keshi picks them over Yobo. Victor Moses, Emenike, Onazi and mikel are the only thing Bailing him out, not Mba or any of these home based players like he's trying to make us believe.

saintandsinnerz: With due respect i will say that Keshi is handling the Super Eagles unprofessionally! There are some players he practically shut the door at without any cogent reason. And again, there are some he keeps inviting who practically does not have any business with the national team. He is very vindictive, hence i wonder why he has refused to invite players like Joseph Yobo, Lukeman Haruna, Sone Aluko, Dele Adeleye etc. These players play regular football for their respective clubs in Europe! The most surprising was him not inviting Yobo in recent times despite the form he has shown in Europe and the Turkish superliga! I will prefer the experience of Yobo over the likes of Egwuekwe, Okwuosa and co. By shutting the door on Yobo as a result of the comment he made is the height of unprofessionalism. Since when did expressing an opinion prevents one from the national team? The truth is that Keshi has biase against some certain players and a soft spot towards some others and that will be anathema to the growth of the national team in future. Let merit be the basis of national team invitation!
