A source close to the White House says President Trump spent his final night in the White House working on pardons and signing the final paperwork just before midnight.

His daughter Ivanka was with him until 10 p.m. ET and left to make phone calls to some of the people pardoned until 2 a.m. ET. Ivanka had been very involved in recent days in the criminal justice pardons for non-violent offenders.

The sources says the feeling is "bittersweet" as the family departs today. Another source says he’s relieved to leave behind the pressure of the presidency.

Marine One just took off from the White House lawn, carrying President Trump to Joint Base Andrews for his send-off ceremony.

But it is not typical for a president's final flights to be officially called Marine One and Air Force One, since those craft only have those names when the President is on them. (Typically, presidents leave DC after the new president is inaugurated.)

The helicopter flight for the outgoing president typically becomes known as Executive One.

Yağmur Aşık plotted to murder her husband, Emre Aşık, a well-known ex-footballer, by paying a hitman 10 million Turkish Liras ($ 1.3 million) and asking him to look for a safe place to bury her husband after his death, media reports claimed.

The homicide plan failed as the hitman spilled the whole story to Emre Aşık, one of the rare Turkish footballers who has played for the three Istanbul giants Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş.

Yağmur Aşık and her partner, Erdi Sungur, will get charged with “attempted murder.”

According to the indictment filed by the prosecutor’s office of the northwestern province of Düzce, Yağmur Aşık first asked Sungur to kill her husband.

“I had an affair with Yağmur. She was only thinking of inheriting the fortune after Emre Aşık’s death. She asked me to kill him, but I refused,” said Sungur in his testimony to the prosecutors.

“Once she brought me a piece of meat. She wanted me to shoot the meat. I did attempt to shoot, but I squinted. ‘You can’t do it,’ she yelled angrily,” added Sungur.

Sungur then introduced Yağmur Aşık to a hitman who had served time in prison for killing three people.

According to the indictment, Yağmur provided a gun to the hitman, and they searched rural areas and uplands in Düzce to find a “safe place” to bury the ex-footballer after the hitman would kill him.

At the last minute, the hitman renounced the plan and the ex-footballer’s side.

The date of the first hearing of the criminal lawsuit in the Düzce Higher Criminal Court will be announced soon.

Emre and Yağmur Aşık tied the knot in France in 2012. The couple is not divorced yet and has three children.

Emre Aşık, who is an ex-defender, had played for the Turkish National Team in 34 matches.

Lionel Messi's decision to quit Barcelona for Manchester City is to be rewarded with a contract that will cement the multiple Ballon d'Or winner's status as the highest-paid individual in the history of the sport.

Record Sport understands that Messi has agreed financial terms worth €700million (currently £623m) over the course of five years in the employ of City Football Group, the Premier League club's holding company.

Messi - who on Sunday underlined last week's unilateral recision of the final year of his Barcelona contract by failing to report for mandatory COVID testing at the club – is expected to spend three seasons at Manchester City before moving to CFG's Major League Soccer franchise New York City FC.

The deal allows the group's Abu Dhabi ownership to employ the footballer they have coveted above all others since buying into European football 12 years ago at CFG's two most prominent clubs, with a degree of flexibility retained over the exact timing of Messi's cross-Atlantic switch.

Sergio Aguero has removed the No 10 from his Instagram handle, leading to some Manchester City fans suggesting that Lionel Messi is set to join the club.

Aguero has worn the No 10 at City since 2015 but the number is heavily associated with Messi, who has worn it for Barcelona since 2008, while he also wears it for Argentina.

According to reports from RAC1 and TyC Sports, Messi's father Jorge has arrived in Manchester to hold talks over a possible move.

Messi, frustrated after Barcelona failed to win a trophy this season, believes that he can activate a clause which would make him a free agent at the conclusion of a campaign.

Barcelona, however, state that the clause expired in June, and say that Messi's release clause of £630million would have to be paid for him to secure a move elsewhere.

In addition to Aguero, Messi has a strong connection with City manager Pep Guardiola, with whom he enjoyed much success at Barcelona.

City fans took to Twitter to state their belief that Aguero's activity on Instagram means a deal for Messi is likely to happen.
