sunshineluv5:
share the major interview transcript so others going can also learn congrats
Here it goes guys.

ME: Good Morning
VO: Good Morning, Pass me your passport and I-20 please.

ME: (I pass the passport, I-20 and SEVIS)
VO: Ok. SO where are you going?
ME: I'm going to Little Rock, Arkansas for my Masters in Systems Engineering at University of Arkansas, Little Rock. I'll be specializing on Electrical systems, precisely Optimization of Power Systems.

VO: Ok good. What other schools did you apply to?
ME: University of Texas at El Paso.

VO: So did you get admitted?
ME: I'm still waiting on a decision. I applied for Spring 2019 so I'm yet to get a decision.

VO: Ok so what do you do now?
ME: I currently work with XYZ, a power distribution company as a systems operator. I've been doing that for close to four years now and in our daily operations, we face a lot of challenges like Power Systems Instability, Fault Location, Voltage Imbalance and many more. This is why I'm going for this program, as it will help me counter most of these challenges as I intend to model Power Systems and also optimize them thereby creating solutions to these challenges.

VO: (Makes an expression I didn't understand but I didn't let it move me sha though I was initially scared. lol) SO what courses are you offering?
ME: I'll be taking classes in Systems Analysis and Design, Systems Architecture and Design. Those are some of my core courses. And for my electives, I'll be taking classes in Power Systems Operations, Linear Systems Theory and a few other courses. I'll be taking 31 credits in all for this program.

VO: Oh wow. That's good. So who's your sponsor.
ME: My mom
VO: And what does she do?
ME: She's a civil servant and she runs a store, she supplies stationary to schools and a few printers.

VO: Did you take any Standardized Tests?
ME: Yes I did, I took GRE.
VO: What are your scores?
ME: Verbal: 152, Quantitative: 155 and 4.5 in Analytical Writing.
VO: Wow, Impressive.
ME: (I smile, still scared a bit at this point because I felt she was just reeling me)

VO: So do you have your personal bank statements here?
ME: No, I have my mom's. She's sponsoring my program.
VO: Can I see it?
ME: (hands over the statement)
VO: Is this a corporate account?
ME: No It's her personal account. But she runs her business with it.
VO: OK (hands it back to me). Wait, what about funding? No funding?
ME: Well, Dr. Jing said there won't be funding available for this academic calendar but the second year looks positive. And since my mom is sponsoring, I wasn't worried about the funding.
VO: Oh Ok.

(all the time, she kept typing...and that was what was getting me worried...like...what are you typing)

VO: I'm happy to...(bla bla bla bla, sincerely I didn't hear anything again)
ME: (I saw the white paper being circled and I was just so damn happy but I tried to keep my composure)
VO: You can pick up your passport at xyz on Monday. And pls go with your sevis and I20 to the port of entry. Congratulations!
ME: Oh ok...Thank You Very much.
VO: Have a good day.
ME: HAve A Great Day! (Kept my white paper in my folder before I turned back sef, I doubt anybody saw me getting a white, I was too excited that I went blank and didn't even know how to act).

* I'm grateful to this thread though, going through approved and failed transcripts really helped me prepare BUT IN ALL, IT WAS GOD. SO PLEASE CONNECT WITH GOD, IT'S VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO. All the best!*

VO: Good Morning
ME: Good Morning, How are you yoday?

VO: Pass your documents(i-20, passport and Sevis)
Me: I hand it over

VO: What are you going for?
Me: I am going for Masters in Systems Engineering at University of Arkansas, Little Rock.

VO: Why UALR?
Initially, I spoke with one of my mentors (Dr. Isaiah in my Alma Mata) about my job and my career plans, and he advised I get a Masters in systems engineering as it will handle all my questions as relating to optimization of power systems. He recommended two schools in USA: UALR and UTEP as they had electrical streams in their Systems Engineering Program coupled with Professors who had research interests in Optimization of Power Systems inclduing renewable energy. I researched UALR and the curriculum aligned with my career plan so I contacted Dr Liu and he advised I apply. And here we are.

VO: What do you know about Systems Engineering?
Me: Well, Systems Engineering is all encompassing as it's set up to help design, model, analyze and optimize various real life complex engineering systems (electrical, mechanical, civil etc). This processes help to predict the system responses and failures, thereby also enabling a system engineer to profer solutions to existing and predicted problems even before they occur.

VO: WHat courses will you be offering?
Me: System Analysis and Design, Systems Architecture and Design, Systems Management and Evaluation, Linear Systems Theory, Power Systems Analysis and some other courses. In all, 11 courses as it's a 31 Credit program.

VO: Can you not continue your education in your home country?
ME: Well, I also researched for a Masters in Systems Engineering in Nigeria and only found one option in University of Lagos, but there was no faculty with research interests in the optimization of power systems so it was a NO for me.

VO: Where do you work and what do you do?
Me: I work with XYZ Power Distribution Company as a systems operator. Been doing that for about 4 years now. I manage, inspect, operate and maintain all substation equipment. I also regulate flow of electricity to consumers through various switching operations. I "prepare" the lines and make the safe for routine or emergency operations.

Me: How will this study program relate to your past work or studies?
VO: I currently work as a systems operator in a control room, getting a Masters in Systems Engineering is a step further into advancing my career in the power sector as I'll be focusing of techniques and methods in optimization of power systems, which will aid me in assisting to mitigate the major problems we face currently like fault location, power losses, power system instability, poor demand management etc. This course will help find solutions to most of these problems if not all, as I intend to model, simulate, analyze and optimize Nigeria's power system with Dr Liu's guidance, hence creating solutions to the problems I mentioned.

VO: Did you write any standardized tests?
Me: Yes, GRE. Q 155, V 152, A 4.5 (Provides Document)

VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to UALR and UTEP. I'm waiting on UTEP's admission decision.

VO: Who's your sponsor?
Me: My mom. She doubles as a civil servant and a stationary supplier to top private schools in Ogun state and also a few printers in Mushin.

VO: Why do you have two sponsors on your I20?
Me: I also used my cousin's bank balance while I was processing my I20 and I have his statement here too. Regardless, My mom is my sponsor as she has enough funds now to cover my expenses. My cousin will be covering miscellaneous expenses if any arises.

....PLEASE GUYS HELP ME WITH ADDITIONS and SUBTRACTIONS....THANKS
Got my Visa today guys. So happy right now.
I did my part and kept praying to God. Almost everyone before me were denied. I mean i saw blue everywhere. But I got a white. Please prepare and pray... Prayer is important. Trumpland, here I come.

PhonesRe: Infinix Zero 2: The Next Hero by wumzy(m): 10:00pm On Jul 22, 2015
Is it the Zero2 Microstation gave me or this is a general flaw in the design, my phone screen still goes completely black. I was holding it but it was locked. "When i tried unlocking, it remained black. I initially thought it was dead till i plugged in my charger and it gave the connection sound. I tried to power it off to no avail. I eventually forced a reset with the power and +ve volume buttons." Now it is so frequent that it occurs a minimum of 3times in a day.
Please advise on what to do because this issue isn't making me enjoy the phone at all.
To worsen it, my phone fell and now there's a crack line across the screen.. Not completely visible but it's there .
Thanks
