Many of you seem to be taking my response as defence for the former president. I was responding to FIJ's quote of Garba Shehu. Mr Shehu never said the president approved the change (I'm not saying he did not approve it). What he said was that the then president "supports" the change. The title of the thread said "3 times Buhari said he approved Naira redesign". Garba Shehu's quoted statement however did not use the word "approve". So they cannot rely on an aide saying his principal "supports" a change as proof that he "approved" that change. The way government works, an approval requires a signature of a document. Yes all of this semantic, but this is the basis that lawyers use in asking a judge to throw out a case on "technicalities"
