How did you identify malware inside the netflix & youtube apps?[/quote]. It's the timing of the debits. The debits happened minutes after I typed in my credit information and I have tried to download valid apps from Google play store but the phone keeps blocking it.

CrimeBeware Of Fraudsters In Big Mobile Phone Companies by Wyntah(op): 8:15am On Oct 04, 2021
Hi everyone! I narrowly escaped being defrauded of all my savings yesterday. I am still in shock and I want to use this medium to enlighten everyone so that you don't fall prey to these evil people. My Netflix subscription expired on Sunday and I got the reminder message as is the case with all paid apps. I decided to make the payment immediately using the payment platform on the Netflix app. After making the payment, I dropped the phone on the table and went about my regular chores only to hear my husband call out to me some minutes later asking me what I paid for. I told him it's only Netflix o! His response stopped me in my tracks. "Only Netflix and your account is being charged repeatedly? Na wa, sweetheart what did you press? I rushed in, took the phone and imagine what greeted my eyes. $24 charge to your account, $19,$20,$13 charged to you account from wish.com. I started dancing around with my hands on my head. " Eeye, this country have finished me o! Scammers have finished me o!" I knew that it was a matter of minutes before all my money disappeared into thin air. Luckily for me, my darling husband is a tech savvy guy. Immediately, my husband sprung into action. He sent a mail to the gtbank support email address for reporting fraud but Gmail responded that the email was not functional and could not receive mails. He then logged on to my bank account online and tried to use the hot list option but even that did not work. With the shitty network delaying our every move we decided to transfer what was left in that account to another bank account. Since I was expecting money to be payed into my account, we decided to look for options that could block the card completely since hot list was not working. Finally we used the card protect option to block the card and prevent it from being used for more transactions both international and local. I was calm for a few seconds before I began to mourn my #39000 that had just vanished. I was close to tears since I had already planned what I wanted to use the money for. My husband told me to relax that he will get the money back and he set to work. He browsed the web to find out about wish.com if it was a valid non fraudulent site and to God-be-the-glory it was a very legit site. He chatted with their customer care representative and gave details of the transaction debit that was sent to my mail. They said that they will get back to us in 2-3 days but as I write this message, that money is sitting jejely in my second account because as they refunded my money, I did not waste time to do internet bank transfer sharpish before I hear another story that will give me heart attack.

The question now is, how was it possible for scammers to get access to my bank details on my Netflix account. From the information we could get from wish.com, the scammer ordered for clothes, shoes and bags to be sent to Uyo. I bought a new phone from Techno office in Uyo last month and there were apps already installed in my new phone just as is done in all new phones. This Netflix app and my YouTube music app have been installed with phinshing softwares which will get your details once you use it for transactions. I was lucky to have someone who could identify the problem, trace the money and locate the source but others may not be that lucky so please be aware of the guises of these FRAUDSTERS. When you buy a new phone, do factory reset or uninstall the apps that are there especially the ones that collect payment information. Protect yourself because boys are not smiling at all and they have infiltrated everywhere.

Wish.com have confirmed that that person's transactions on their platform have been blocked. If I have the time today, I will head to the Techno office to complain.

You were recently accused of being a fraudster for a different product. Did you clear that issue? Now you are back with a new angle. Nairaland is really thriving with these scammers and nothing is being done about it. People need to mind the information they put up here. I think someone in the admin needs to be investigated if not, why do they allow these frausters to thrive?

RomanceRe: GOING THROUGH A DEVASTATING BREAK UP. Please Help Me Friends!! Am Dying Silently by Wyntah: 7:18am On Jun 25, 2016
You need to realise that what she says is different from what she means with you. She tells you that she is in love with you and you keep taking her back. As long as you show her that you care, she will keep taking advantage of you. Start treating her like you have lost interest in her. Don't give her money or gift again cos that is all she is after. it will hurt like hell but its either that or you hurt your family by dying. try watching comedies or sci fi movies cos romantic movies will only remind you of her. If you can't block her number, put a ring tone of the a dance hall music on her number so that each time she calls you just dance to the song and you won't feel your heart breaking. I hope you pull through.
FamilyRe: What Exactly Is Wrong With Cohabiting? by Wyntah: 9:11pm On May 26, 2016
People cohabit for varying reasons. What is your reason? And you need to know if the person you cohabit with will not lose his or her self esteem while living with you cos some people actually mind how their neighbours rate them.

Succinctly put OP. I appreciate the gross truth in what you wrote. Men and women have their ups and down, nobody is perfect, but, amidst our imperfection, we can only strive for perfection.

Once again, this is a nice write-up.
Thank you, I'm flattered.

I read a post yesterday about society and the male child and it got me thinking. Interesting as it was but one can only ask, "if the society does not teach the man to be strong, who will?" Most women will scream at the sight of a tiny snake and will look for a male figure to hide behind even if the male is a ten year old. That is just nature. So if the the society does not teach the male child to confront situations with courage, how will he protect the woman he will eventually love?
All these talks about male infidelity, I think it is over rated. Women cheat too but are more skilled at covering tracks. I have seen faithful husbands and I have seen unfaithful wives. I know of a family where the woman abandoned her three children including a six month old baby for greener pastures. Those children were raised by the man who refused to remarry for fear of another woman victimizing his children. Such men don't make headlines though. Just because women are victims at some point doesn't make the female specie weak or less influential. We have our careers, make our money, run the home, raise children who puts us first before their father, call the shots and still get the society to think that we are weak. I think it is human nature. Human beings have the tendency to be unfaithful, both male and female. Some women will choose to stay in unhappy marriages because at that point their children become their priority while some will just work out of it. As a mother, I will teach my son to be strong and compassionate. I will teach him to hide his tears and show no weakness because the struggle for survival is real. If friends can sense weakness in you, so can your enemies. We all know that in this world the strong will always prey on the weak be it male or female. No one can protect a man more than himself.

its a two way thing, it is either the SCH management is sorry or not. If dey are, u can leave him in d school, if dey are not, take him away from d sch. It is wrong because dre should be a teacher on duty, bt my sister, children can b funny, even at home, dey still make u marvel at dre moves nd wat dey do. If u take it too hard on d sch nd d teacher is seriously queried, he or she MAY take it on d child. So just talk gently to the teacher and pray always for ur child safety. Aunty, its not mandatory you must respond to every comment that doesnt match your agenda.

A real parent would not consider posting on nairaland more important than your child's privacy.

Your alledged incident happened today you said, and your first thought was to run here and start posting? You are not serious.

Be all that as it may, kindly face your supporters on the thread and ignore my posts, thanks.
Good advice from you, judgemental pple lyk you are better ignored anyways.

This happened to my youngest brother when he was just 4 years old. I still remember the panic when we were looking for him cos he left his school bag. My parents saw him on his way home.

it was one of those really big schools. If I remember correctly, my folks got their lawyer to write to the school and ensure they take up extra security measures and some other stuff.
I think you need to evaluate the school and see if it's worth it for your kid to continue in the school. They may be generally lax about such important things. Those days, kidnapping and stuff were not so rampant. If that had happened recently, I am sure my folks would have reacted differently.
I never considered bringing in a lawyer but I will discuss that with my husband. thank but pls did your brother continue his education there? did the teachers bully him afterwards or treat him with resentment? i am worried of the aftermath

I don't joke with my kids affairs, if you are paying them to do their job and they failed like that they should have a very serious reason, what if

Anything happened to your baby, please find him another school immediately.
i appreciate your advise, thank you.

Today I got the shocker of my life. i am still in shock, more worried than angry. My son who can make a complete sentence with three words walked out of a school with fence, big gate, two attending teachers, two security personnels and a host of other teaching and non teaching staff only to be picked up by a bike man on a busy road. i tried talking to the people responsible and they seem to be making excuses for their inadequacies. pls parent if u wer me what would you do to prevent this from happening again. we are very protective as we are yet to be blessed with more children. pls i would appreciate geniune advise from parents. thank you in advance.
