Well....so long as you go to previous post and read them well, especially partitioning sdcard....then partition your sdcard into three, i.e. fat32, ext2 and linuxswap...backup your applications using titanium backup...flash the gingerbean FINAL...then do full wipe using 3e recovery, then restore your apps using titanium backup

note:
After the full wipe you will have to download titanium backup pro from filecrop.com

On the home front, Ive been in prep for an interview on Thursday (GMAT things na), so had to do some house keeping, if u al get my meaning.
GB_final project is still on, just trying to make changes regarding all comments recieved from far n wide (undergoing Major cosmetic make-over)

elegale: #confusedMuch. I dnt understand "installin mount2sd". I use link2sd...and u can jes install as is...if u wanna port it, jes make it a system app after u install it. Since u av root access...use root explorer to go to /data/app and look for d link2sd entry. Copy that file to /system/app. Den delete the one in /data/app. Reboot ur fone after. Link2sd is nw integrated.

Sorry...but seeing ext4 in your nandroid backup tells me AIO wont be of much use to u. Odin downloader might help. Just download it and try connecting it.

Memory low issue is only live for apps that require install on the emmc or internal sd
However, as uve noticed it blows no whisle (insufficient memory) when inatalling games with large APK files.

firstly, was your phone rooted before the incident, and can you boot you fone into recovery? if yes, connect it to your PC while in recovery, then run AIO flasher, in the "reboot menu", select to "fastboot" and click reboot. Let me know if that worked out.

only for apps that need to install in phone memory, regardless you can still install your large Game files hitch free.

lets understand that...
The critical advantage of this ROM is the shell root...which allows for full modding (i.e. modification) of the system files of your device!! albeit,at your own risk ; however; your life belt being your nandroid backup (see why this is so important)
hitherto...we couldnt successfully apply shell scripts(bits of android programing code), terminal command line mods and so on without getting a "silly-flag" here and a "permission-denied" there, for the newbies (average user) this isnt relevant , but on the other hand for Developers (Android Hackers) , this is a pain in headache.

4. three partition SD card (fat32, ext2, and Linuxswap pref: 512mb+) *very important dont try without it you can brick your phone!
5. A little understanding of android scripting or want to try and wont mind bricking your phone

a. for GB users only: open swapper2 and turn of swap.
b. also for GB users: use link2sd to uninstall swapper2,
c. use link2sd or titanium backup to uninstall swapper, or any other swapping/memory boosting app you have installed
d. open "android terminal emulator" and enter the following code: (after entering each line of code press enter)


prelude:

install uni-init.d enabler

copy term-init.sh to sdcard root

run uni-init.d enabler

click verify init.d support, you should get a result saying you dont have init.d support

open android terminal emulator and enter the following script: (remember to press enter after each line and NOTE CAPITAL and small letters matter alot in Android scripting)
type: su
type: sh /sdcard/term-init.sh
#let the android run script

when done:
open terminal emulator and type :: reboot
you android should restart:

open terminal emulator and type :: reboot (again)
you android should restart:

open unit-init.d enabler and click verify: if all was done properly you should get a "success! you have init.d support"

now, to enble linux swap partition

open
1. type: su

2. type: fdisk -l dev/block/mmcblk0

3. type: swapon /dev/block/mmcblk0p3

3. then type: echo 100 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness

B. open root explorer

click the "mount r/w" at the top right side of the screen

goto system/etc/init.d

create two files named "androidswap", and "fstab" (click: options, more, new file)

1. click on "androidswap", click text editor:
enter the following script:

FRom the untouched stock rom, deodex it entirely, pull framwork-rex.apk and edit.
The statusbar can actually be customized likewise the rest of system can be themed only if u zipalign it.

Berryman: I did get a 130mb (only?) system.yaffs2.img file and a 14.44kb cache.yaffs2.img file but i want 2 know if d 'not-found' warnings i got while bking up d two ar important. Also i got a 786.92mb .android_secure.vfat.tar file (dat can only be seen when i enable 2 see hidden files wit root explorer), is dat also important? Pls look into my concerns. Size of oder bkups ar:

Good to flash man. now if in the unforeseen future anything goes wrong with your n3 you simply restore the system.yaffs2 and userdata.yaffs2 using AIO.

lol..its N3 o..its a test mod using an android status bar app. I guess the script for the 3rd party status app is written for single sim androids like s2, s plus, etc. hence, the single network indicator

Berryman: Hi xanders. Doing a great job. A lil prob here: i downloaded and installed online nan bkup, updated d scripts and even got nandroid manager. But b4 starting bkup, i couldn't find d CWRM mode only clockworkmod (which i don't av) and TRWP (or sometin). Anyway after installing a particular mk.....img file (dat was missing), i went ahead wit d backup but it stopd 3 secs in, telling me dat a particular directory didn't exist. What do u say? Do i need clockworkmod or wat? Pls reply.

please note all: as i stated earlier, DONNOT PROCEED WITHOUT HAVING DONE A NANDROID BACK UP, YOU CAN BRICKKK (notice capitalization)YOUR PHONE O!!

PROCESS FOR NANDROID BACKUP CREATION
1. Create a folder in your Sdcard called "clockworkmod" using small letters as shown here (if you dont have one already)
2. DOWNLOAD ONLINE NANDROID BACKUP MAKER. get here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.onnandbup&hl=en
3. RUN ONLINE NANDROID BACKUP MAKER ON YOUR PHONE,
4. update scripts
5. select CWRM or CWM mode or Clockworkmod (depends on your version)
6. start backup
it should take about 20 mins or less

In as-much as, or regardless that, or even though or, shaa the Gingerbean installation it self has minimal risk, as AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS WORD FOR WORD....you'll be ok...even if ...you dont root. Howeverrrr, you cannot create a NANDROID BACKUP WITHOUT ROOTING, although theres a way (except for advanced users);
Buttom line, my advice to you...
Young Man, be a good citizen and root your phone, do that backup, and all will be ok

brainrex rumdump is a wonderful file but you require ODIN (and pro flashing skills i guess) to successfully flash it in to your device.
however, reading the tutorial posted in this thread, and following it by word, you have a 90% chance of unbricking your Tecno N3

The potential that ROM customization holds for android devices are many; over-clocking, increased memory, custom recoveries, better battery management just to mention a few of them.

Memory boost feature: using Swap partition
This feature allows for memory boost of the TECNO N3, allowing for internal memory optimization, great multi-tasking, and heavy gaming (i.e. running really large 3d-games)

NOTE: Enabling this fixes the USB mounting issue!!!

Memory boost and fix for USB mount issue:
users have complained that they have been having troubles mounting in USB mode after installing the Gingerbean RPM
solution to this is in four (4) simple steps:
First install, "Super SU" from Google play, get super su here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu&hl=en
partition SD: how to partition? go herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning
configure Link2SD, under setting check Auto-link, startup on boot, etc
configure swapper 2, enabling safe mount and safe removal

are you using swapper for root create swap? the default swapper isnt very stable hence It prevents mounting usb without killing the ****.swp file on your SD.Try using the pre-installed swapper2, in the swapper2 menu, go to setting and check safe mount and safe removal. let me know if this helps.
like I earlier stated this is a pre-release, and other more complete version are currently in the kitchen. custom roms aren't a single dev's effort alone but the combined effort of dev's (app developers) as well as comments of newies (new commers).
