Please everyone, I had a little above 290 in UTME, I previously registered with OAU, but thinking of changing to UNIBEN cos OAU will be merging sets ( which reduces chance of admission), I'm vying for medicine and surgery, please do you think I will be safe with UNIBEN ( I know UNIBEN is also competitive). But will I be able to make up with my post UTME or it's just a no go area. Please other recommendations will also be appreciated. Please help me ooo

290+ for Medicine in UNIBEN isn't a very bad one.

It falls under what I call 'a fighting score'.
If you can fully hit your post Utme hard, then you'll be fine.
Your chances will increase if you're from any of the catchment states or elds.
Just do well any score from 78upwards will put you in a very fine stead.

That extra two years on Geophysics would settle things at your Medical school to extent.
It's a win-win if you defer though.

Painful but it is safe to say that the LGA Certificate thing was a screening phase on its own.

A fine jamb score say (300+) keeps you in a very fine stead.
The cut off which is usually not announced is arrived by dividing your utme score by 8 and post utme by 2 to get your aggregate score.

In recent times, cut off have ranged from 74-78.
Regular Books are just fine. In my time, I used Ababio and Lamlad for Chemistry, For Biology, I used Lamlad, Ramalingam and Exam focus, Physics I used Afolabi

While English was A-Z by Dele Ashade.
I added 'Dandy English' to the A-Z for post Utme.

For school fees, 80k acceptance fee then 73,400 for school fees.
In subsequent levels, the school fee is 45,400.
The calendar is a fair one too.

Well I'm so glad UNN have gotten back their senses they admitted only 14 Dentistry this year and about 174 for Medicine, same cutting for nursing too, now they parked the remaining people to M.L.S UNN admitted almost 600 people in MLS this year and RADIOGRAPHY too close to 450 ��� the quota for M.L.S is 75 ooo

Well, that isn't supposed to be the kind of 'competition' people should talk about.

Infact, there's not supposed be something like that in the first place.

Class say 300L Dentistry (People who will write 2nd MB by November) in UNN we just finished 2nd BDS part A we were over 145 Students who wrote the exam we got 86 percent pass, now we are over 170 cause the upper class joined us (those that didn't pass the previous 2nd MB) and we are fighting for a quota for 15 slots imagine 170 students for 15 quota well it's like MDCN is coming to increase our quota by Nov rumour has it that they may increase it to 30, but even at that 170 Students for 30 slot is still small, that is what they call competition not this... 25 being the quota shouldn't be over emphasized,the aim is to gain admission

He said that the NYSC discharge certificate doesn't stop you from getting admitted but it is a must for clearance.


The DE Exam is basically the same stuff as utme but a lil bit tougher.


You should be among the top scorers...this was his words.

Then he said anything above 75% would be just fine.

my coursemate too hasn't been seen for over 4 weeks now but we Later found out school don tire the guy so he go hustle for one place like that in Ekpoma.
