Good day medical students and doctors. I just gained admission to study Medicine and Surgery in a Federal University in South West. Though they just started the Medicine programme in the school which implies they haven't gained full accreditation from MDCN but all efforts are ongoing to get this done. I am currently a 300 level student of Geophysics in one of the State Universities. I will be resuming 300l by September I had been contemplating whether to switch over to MBBS or obtain the Geophysics degree first. What is your take on this? |

Why did you apply for MBBS in the first place knowing fully well you'll soon be in 300 Level in another course? That should do it 1 Like |

Eben331: Defer your Medicine admission and complete your Geophysics since you're almost at the end of the program. Then when you're done, you pick up your Medicine back |

Oluwaseun1995: I am thinking on the expenses on school fees and other dues that I will spend in 300l till graduation and other factors. Rather than doing that, why can't I just spend the money on Medicine. Albeit, I am at the same time scared of not wasting those money I spent in 100l and 200l I am really in a tight corner on what to do. |

Eben331:That the school is new is even an added 'incentive" to defer. That extra two years on Geophysics would settle things at your Medical school to extent. It's a win-win if you defer though. But e get as Medicine dey use shark person, e no dey your eyes to defer am. 2 Likes |

Hello @ all pls i need answers, which medical course can i apply with 247 utme score and any recommended university? I'm from Delta state |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by DrOptimistic: 7:26am On Aug 17, 2021 |
Miracood2: FUTA don't release cut off marks But there is a rumour that the cut off mark for Medicine for the newly admitted is 83.875 (I don't know how true it is). Just have a good UTME score and a very high Post UTME score (80+) and you are good to go We don't know what the estimated school fees will be for Medicine since this is their first set of medical students. But other courses pay #53,000 for school fees (in total). First batch to get admission last year paid #45,000 for Acceptance fee while other batches paid #50,000 for Acceptance fee. 1 Like |
