LOME, Togo, Feb. 1— Tens of thousands of
hungry and impoverished people who have been
expelled from Nigeria hurried today along the
seaside road that leads to the frontier with
ghana at the edge of this normally quiet West
African capital.
The refugees, expelled for economic and political
reasons by Nigeria, passed through Lome in
taxis, cattle trucks and on foot, most of them
men in their 20's, many of them carrying a single
suitcase as they walked along the Atlantic
coastal road.
Some two million unskilled foreign workers living
illegally in Nigeria were ordered to start leaving
by Monday. At least half of them were
Ghanaians, and others were from Mali, Chad,
Niger, Upper Volta, Benin and Togo. Under
international and African pressure, President
Shehu Shagari of Nigeria extended the expulsion
deadline for skilled foreigners, mostly
schoolteachers, until March 1.
President Shagari announced the expulsions Jan.
17, saying the foreigners were the cause of
economic problems and religious and racial
unrest. 16 Reported to Have Died
In Lagos, the Nigerian capital, at least 16 people
were reported to have died as a result of the
forced exit. Six people drowned in the Lagos
harbor Monday night trying to climb aboard
overcrowded ships leaving for Accra, ghana 's
capital. Ten refugees were said to have starved
to death.

At the frontier, Togolese guards let the refugees
pass by the thousands without a check. A
hundred yards away, by a concrete arch with the
words ''Welcome to ghana '' in large letters,
Ghanaian border guards appeared to be making
only cursory inspections of the refugees as they
entered. As one truck carrying perhaps 50
refugees crossed the border, the Ghanaians
cheered -but not loudly, more in relief than joy. A
boy waved a small Ghanaian flag from the back
of the truck.

Dude, did you read the report very well? "People reported to have died due to the forced exit". Of course, people can die during emergency. I can still remember how some people drowned themselves in the Lagoon during the Ikeja bomb blast event out of fear. But the truth is that nobody got killed by the blasts. It's similar to what u just said now. You didn't give any account of public lynching or store robbery

Meanwhile, Islam is the religion of scavengers like some said earlier today. *smh*

SmoothCrim:
Once again, before you call any south African Xenophobic remember Ghana must Go... cool cool
You're an excuse for a human being! I know you're gloating coz Nigeria is involved. After the Ghana must go incident in 1983, what other time have Nigerians chased you out of their country? The Ghanaians roaming Nigeria today can't be differentiated. They all look Nigerian. Thank our accommodating hearts for that

SHUT UP SMOOTHCRIM! YOU ARE AN ILLITERATE!

WHAT DID GHANAS PRESIDENT DO TO Nigerians in 1969? EJECTED CLOSE TO 300000 NIGERIANS FROM GHANA! Ghana must go was not XENOPHOBIA! We did not kill or attack Ghanaians... We ejected them just like how they ejected us in 1969!
Even after that they've still in Nigeria today

MzansiBeat:
Have you verified the aunthicity of this video? Now all sorts of barbaric acts will be attributed to SA. Is this how you show how smart you are? Next you'd post pics of the Rwandan genocide and say it's SA. How convenient.
You better hide ur ass, South African. Niggas in Nigeria are ready to mop you out at first sight

sinkhole:
Who exactly do you want to kill? The white SAfricans in Nigeria, that will never be part of what is happening in SA? I dont even know where black SAfricans are in Nigeria and even if we have black SAfricans here in Nigeria they surely do not support what those jobless thugs are doing in SA!
When you use the black SAfricans in Nigeria as scapegoats, they'll watch the video and learn their lesson. You don't have to apply diplomacy all the time

The fun started at this point. Cooper is standing charging at Vera, who though has being brought down but was also on alert to defend herself.
It's a sign of submission. Standing face to face with Cooper while playing might result to a real fight; and Cooper would beat her ass down
