we can always confirm our answers when solving simultaneous equations, put the answer for x and y back in any of the equations, you'll get the answer.
E.G x=2/3 and y =-3
6(2/3) + (-3) = 1
4-3=1
1=1

-9x=-6
x=-6/-9
x=2/3.
substitute x=2/3 in to eqn 1
6(2/3) +y= 1
(12/3) + y= 1
4+y =1
y = 1-4
y=-3
