Education is really not enlightenment. Whatever makes you sleep at night. But please, ensure you wail responsibly when you understand what this new measure is about.
BusinessRe: Security Operatives Take Over As Residents Besiege CBN In Kaduna by XLence: 2:06pm On Feb 17, 2023
updatechange:
Nigeria diving slowly into anarchy… SMH this is a very sensitive issue but the insensitive president and governor of CBN are too daft to realize it.
Na the zombies wey Dey cheer them I pity pass.
By the time this thing graduates into full scale riots/war (god forbid) even Buhari will not escape it.
And all the country's problems will end in one day. When we were canvassing against Emefiele and PMB, your likes called us wailers. Nothing will happen that we're not prepared for. Useless country and citizens. Tomorrow, you'll clamour for another misfit to be in power, the next day you cry. If we weren't blinded by hate or selective in our mortality, we won't be where we are now.
PoliticsRe: Naira Redesign: Consider Nigerians’ Suffering, Soludo Tells Buhari by XLence: 12:43pm On Feb 17, 2023
Ezewuzie01:
Sane Nigerians are calling Buhari to order in respect of the supreme court ruling and the suffering masses but the demented Peter Obi and his Ipob supporters are urging him on with his anti people policy.
Lol. The same order he refused to adhere to in other matters of public importance since 2015? It's simply your time to wail, so do it with grace. We've all had our distaste about this government in one way or another. This is a lesson for you'all to never pander to SELECTIVE MORALITY. We must learn to build strong institutions rather than strong men, else the cycle of tears will continue.

This man is taking a dangerous path, his MM ticket desperation is taking another dimension, I always ask the question: what is his benefit in Tinubu's presidency?

I've searched and the only thing that keeps coming up is Shettima(MM ticket)
You have said it all. The thought of seeing the implementation of that MM experiment at the national level gives him erection. May God save us from the evil day.

We are all tribalists yourself included. It was the British that forced us together and inter marriage and business have dissolved most of the animosity

Yet

The dream of all ethnic nations is a return to the pre independence position of a true federation where each region can advance the dreams of its people.

BAT is the best man to slay the after effects of Ironsi decree 34 of 1966 - the Unification Decree that ended the autonomy of the states.

Long live the regions of Nigeria. May we forge a more perfect union where no man is oppressed and so with peace and plenty, Nigeria may be blessed

The bolded from Nigerias old Anthem. Amen.
Lol. I so much like the presidential contest. May the strongest (fanatical) ethnic bloc win.
PoliticsRe: El-Rufai: Why I Rejected Buhari’s Proposal To Extend Old Naira Deadline by XLence: 10:09pm On Feb 15, 2023
Emergency masses advocate. Only discerning minds know this man and his cohorts are the cause of the furore surrounding the currency swap. All of these would have been behind us after the initial deadline. New notes would have been in circulation more, because I know some people that are hoarding it currently. With the SC intervention, there's more uncertainty and nobody knows the way forward.
PoliticsRe: Calm Down About This New Naira Note Policy by XLence: 5:41pm On Feb 15, 2023
ChatterHouse:
If you come to North that carry this case like gala

The are not even protesting because is their brother at the helm of affairs

South East don't want to engage because they have been profile as bad egg by the APC led government

South West are using Emotion instead of logic
Because is our son ishhh

South West refuse to called out buhari because of 12million Northern vote, Where as elrufai, ganduje and yeye bello are fighting for their stash

This is the time to point the perpetrator point blank .

This is buhari policy

And APC led disaster
Leave them. They're still deflecting, pointing accusing fingers at each other. This is purely PMB' s APC policy. They're instead focused on who said or did what. The villains here are the Governors of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara. The situation would have long been abated since the first deadline. It was their personal greed (and ulterior motives) that many have misconstrued as patriotism, that has worsen the situation. The new notes would have been more in circulation now, after JANUARY 31st.

Jack500:
Aren't you fools supporting the policy? 😀
So, why are you crying?
See this one. The North has just played you all. One Nigeria. Who would have thought BAT's APC would be your hero and PMB's APC your villain. When the north has finished cooking, eyes will clear.
PoliticsRe: Nine States Join Suit On Naira Swap Crisis by XLence: 1:26pm On Feb 15, 2023
quinox947:
Why are the Attorney Generals of Edo and Bayelsa respondents?
Game of interest not intellect like most folks here have failed to realize. By the next adjournment date, more states will seek to join. PDP is backing the arm of APC in support of currency swap. This issue will not be resolved until after the elections. CBN either reverses itself or PMB issues an executive order; to help the suffering masses.
PoliticsRe: Supreme Court Adjourns New Naira Note Suit Till February 22 by XLence: 12:54pm On Feb 15, 2023
sparko1:
Young man, CBN doesn't need to be in the suit, CBN is not an arm of the government, they can't give directives, whatever the president says, CBN has to follow.

The fact that you think CBN have a say explain how little you understand about our system of government, once a case is in court, the president can't do anything, he can influence the judges to do his bidding but he can't make a decision on an ongoing case. So yes, we can celebrate and continue to spend our old notes, watch how the presidency will avoid the discussion or try to say little by using those they can discard to address the issues, it's a nightmare the president can walk into, even SGF knows.

To think you are smarter than 10 state government and their SGF, if you are unhappy, take the supreme court to court cheesy cheesy
Lol. See where you've landed. You want to make it an issue of INTELLECT instead of INTEREST, of the parties in the suit.Okay, the two states that have joined the suit as respondents are also not wise? Watch as the list of states grows on either side. This is a game of ostrich. Arguments won't change a damn thing. For your own good dispose of your old notes. This is the Nigeria many of you have been celebrating.
PoliticsRe: Supreme Court Adjourns New Naira Note Suit Till February 22 by XLence: 12:43pm On Feb 15, 2023
baralatie:
Is the cbn part of the executive govt or legislative
Bros understand the process of adjudication in this matter. If CBN was a party to the suit, only the FHC would have jurisdiction not the SC. The litigants knew that. CBN has laws guiding it's operations and they've not acted outside of it. Like I said, it is a game of ostrich with high moral burden. There's no right or wrong. Look at this example, you're a part of your household headed by your dad, and you are acting in capacity that empowers you to take certain decisions. The EXTENDED (larger family head) family can only summon your father to explain your actions, not you. Until that issue is resolved, nothing stops you from executing your immediate household's mandate.
PoliticsRe: Supreme Court Adjourns New Naira Note Suit Till February 22 by XLence: 12:27pm On Feb 15, 2023
sparko1:
You are the one talking without sense, the supreme Court is the highest court in the land, the CBN has no power to say anything if the supreme Court is talking, even the president can't make a contrary statement.
Sir, CBN is not a party to the suit. Also, this issue borders on fiscal policy by agency of government. It's like someone dragging CBN to court over interest or exchange rates. The only difference here is that currency swap borders on morality (human rights), but again same arguments can be made for the scenarios I painted above. Truth is, Nigeria have always had weak institutions, and some of us have always celebrated this until now. This is a game of ostrich and only CBN and PMB can settle the issue.
PoliticsRe: For Nigeria To Move Forward Tribalism Must Be Dealt With by XLence: 9:10am On Feb 15, 2023
ORIAYO70:
This Ur narrative painting Yoruba n Hausa bad is baseless n senseless..

Is even more tribalised than the physical one, the kind of tantrums, jab, words the Igbo throws on other tribe is extremely bad than physical....
Oga forget story. How do you identify ibos on a thread? You see the danger in a single narrative? Tribalism is eroding our sensibility and humanity slowly. Many of you think you can reset your minds to default settings after the election, but it will shock you that the conscious mind is tricky. Give the current trend another 4 years and watch one of two things happen. It's either our 'enemies' exploit us fatally, or we Nigerians rise against one another. Mark this, it won't be long. And your 'precious One Nigeria' falls like a pack of cards.

obi is a tribal bigot. He disrespected the oba of Lagos. Lets see him come and win lagos now.
A tribal bigot who visited different monarchs across the SW? People are fast losing their sense of reason over this election. Your vote is your right, but if tribalism is the core reason for your choice, then you're amongst the most unfortunate educated illiterate in modern history. SMH!

My heartfelt pity goes to all these unrepentant Peter Obi and his Obidient's urchins thinking their Grand Master of lies and deceit will rule this Country when an able bodied, intelligent, vibrant and well educated man who has travelled far and wide and also well experienced is on the same ballot shocked

Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man who cannot be faulted in anyway, with his wealth of experience and all he has done for Nigeria and some Nigerians , Trust me my fellow youths, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the only man who has the capacity and energy to take this beautiful Country to greater heights and not Peter Obi and his Obidient's urchins who are known for their false figures, lies and propaganda.

My fellow youths and all Nigerian students, now is the time to take back your Country and only Bola Ahmed Tinubu can do this for us .He is the best among the rest , he's the most experienced, the most energetic, the most compassionate, the most patriotic and the best man for the Job. He has fought tirelessly for this Country even back in the military regime.

Let's all vote Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President if you want the best for Nigeria

Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves to be our President

My fellow youths rise up and shine
It's funny how some of you see the coming election as a battle of wits and propaganda; where's it's the soul of your future and that of your posterity, in the geographical space called Nigeria. We can act as if we're in the league of those we pander to, when in reality, we all belong to the camp of the oppressed and disillusioned masses. Those are the only two divides, vote wisely.

It's one thing to cancel votes where the electoral guidelines were not adhered to, but it's another to outrightly disenfranchise eligible voters. Something tells me the supreme court might yet deliver a technical judgment. The 1999 constitution has kept us going in circle.
Pray for Nigeria.

Tinubu is my choice and my favorite. No amount of mudsling and character assassination can stop the victory of Tinubu the incoming president
That wasn't his intent, after all, PMB was people's choice in 2015 at every cost conceivable; just that many have either become victims or casualties of the Nigeria that ensued from that choice. It is well.
PoliticsRe: I Hereby Tender My Resignation by XLence: 6:18pm On Feb 10, 2023
Corrinthians:
I, Corrinthians, would like to tender my resignation from tribal, religious, racial, or regional e-brawls from now till the end of my sojourn on this great forum.

I have come to the realization that the things we do and say here have real impact on our daily lives outside the forum. I have come to develop a prejudice against people whom I do not know personally due to their conduct of those who share common tribe with them around here. This is not who I am, and this isn't who I want to be.

It is my firm belief that we all share a common interest for a better country, a country where no consideration is given to ones tribe, religion, or region for one to get what they're duly qualified for. A country where justice doesn't favour only the high and mighty but is available even to the people at the bottom of the food chain.

In light of this, I tender my unreserved apologies to all whom I might have hurt with my insensitivity and unkind words.

It must be stated that I wasn't motivated by any ulterior motive to do this. I simply had a very quiet time away from everything few moments ago, considered the endless animosity between our tribes and wondered "who are the greatest beneficiaries of this, certainly not me or any member of my family".

It just isn't worth it anymore.

I enjoin others to reconsider their attitude here and made redress where necessary.

I expect a good measure of insults to accompany this thread, but it's all good. I've taken a bow and I'm not returning to that realm anymore.

Cheers.

God bless Nigeria and Nairaland.💗
Hmmm. Many have lost their humanity and sense of rational thinking. The angst & hate formed over this election season, will stay with many people long after the election is over. The conscious mind is powerful. Your realization is good.
