ijanarado: With deep sense of loss buh with total submission to the Politics of Nigeria, we regret to announce the Unavoidable Death of Team PRESSID. Funeral Rites will be announced soon....

@ij abeg o...we have to pray for their resurrection, they must bring out those funds for those 100 people (at least) before they are buried

@alikwaghe (hope I spelt it right)it is true what u heard about employing first class graduates automatically, most schools don't but many others do. I was retained immediately after nysc @ University of Nig Enugu campus. However 2 school mates that I saw @ d test venue from a different faculty said that both of them were not absorbed. So it boils down to a number of things including who or what d HOD or Dean is like and also the relative number of academic staff. Most universities management like to employ those from depts which grossly lack lecturers citing unavailabilty of funds in terms of monetary approvals n all what not, needed to employ new staff. So d bottom line is that things are not the way they should be in 9ja.

Meanwhile, I must add that I envy ur profession...w "holy" envy...that was one of my dream courses in secondary sch, but somehow life happened n I found myself in Med Lab Sciences and here I am. But don't give up, I know something good will come out of it, both pertaining to ur license and ur postgraduate.

Shalom. Meanwhile I hail una...every body u know urselves. I love this thread!

Y'all can follow me on twitter @xlyze...I'll def follow back...hehe.

I agree with Sayo14, on the integrity of Prof Julius, however, people's integrity are often severely overshadowed and undermined by the inherently corrupt system that we have entrenched in our national existence. if not that the "quota syndrome" has eaten deep into our politics, one would expect that the list should have been out the same week of the exam. However it is blatantly clear that the scheme might be for next year. Hopefully the top 25 schools will have January intakes if not, we will have to wait for one full year for the scheme which is a bit unfortunate.however i am fully convinced that 100 first class graduates of Nigeria will get first class post graduate education. Whatever protocol they choose to employ in their selection I know some people will benefit. And if not for anything, the subsequent sets of graduands have a hope and our undergraduates will have another source of motivation.and for all these, i am hopeful and HAPPY. At least a fraction of Nigerians, albeit negligible, will take a bite of the national cake even if the bite is only a piecemeal at best, compared to what the politicians are swallowing.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

@pearlAdams...I agree with you, I will miss this thread, but hey, who says it has to stop here. Y'all can always drop ur twitter, fb, etc usernames, if u so wish. It won't be badt. Make I no sound like pastor sha, but I saw a very bright future for our 9ja when I saw my mates @ Chams n somehow I had hope that Nigeria won't be totally lost with people like u guys. Pressid aside, I challenge us all to be great Nigerians to use d gifts we posses to make THE change we all yearn for. And one sure way to do this is to embrace God through His Son, our Lord Jesus, because @ the end of the day its all about His grace and His Mercies and His love. For really, it profits us nothing if we secure this whole world n all d degrees and lose our souls, our eternities. Y'all know where I am driving @ right?
God bless you guys...

I don't know about the quota as per state/region, but my opinion (which may sound selfish..hehe) is that d candidates should be selected based on the best from feilds of study. Because I thought that was d idea initially. What happens when say, 70 out of the 100 happen to come from the same general field...like engineering. The develpoment is meant to cut across feilds ain't it?? I don't see a reason why O level results shld come into it anyways.
Candid advice to u my dear friends, don't let pressid stop you from making d necessary decisions to move u further in ur careers. Cheers and happy new month!
