Our bloggers aren't helping matters, they are becoming deceitful too by posting unverified news all in a bit to drive in traffic into their blogs. Change begins with them. YungTemy: Dedicated to all moi moi lovers
I looked at the sight of the moi moi and shrugged a bit. The moi moi was wrapped in huge green leaves, it had crayfish and eggs in it. in fact it was a sight to behold. Well of course we all know what moi moi is... Right? well if you don't know what it is, you can as well ask Xolocious, I am sure he would give you a better description and insight about it. "Thompson you buy this moi moi plenty o, see as the moi moi full everywhere, you sure say we fit finish this level?" Mayson asked while observing the moi moi. "yes na... After we don smoke smoke smoke, you no know say our belle go don open. This one even small sef, me wey dey finish like 5 wraps of moi moi for house and e still no go reach me" Thompson said with a frown. "yes na... Why e go reach you when your belle na bottomless pit mtcheww nonsense" I said. I liked moi moi but not this type, I liked the type made by GT fast food or the type made my mum. The locally made moi moi was just out of it... Completely ruled out. Well, I had no choice this time around I just had to join the gang in dismantling the hot moi moi wrapped in leaves. I went into the kitchen, brought a bowl of garri and water and we began to eat. Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought, I finished the first wrap, second wrap and third wrap of moi moi like it was absolutely nothing. "see Temy o... I no tell you say you go enjoy the moi moi" Thompson said with a smile on his face. He took the bowl of garri and drank the water out of it. "mtcheww... No be the kush wey I smoke" I said. "if not... I for no fit chop thing, I swear" After eating we laid on the bed like lazy men with our belly filled to the brim with moi moi and garri, we didn't know when we all slept off. I woke up in the middle of the night to the rhythm of something, it wasn't the ringtone from my phone, neither was it from my friends phone or alarm clock... But the soundtrack of my stomach singing 'Reggae blues'. I tried adjusting myself so I rolled off to the floor. The soundtrack emanating from my belly didn't stop it continued, it kept singing... "after the reggae play the blues...". I couldn't withstand my body system anymore, so I began to crawl to the toilet. The foul odour coming out of the toilet tripled my palava. It actually increased my problem times 3x "who could be in the toilet" I wondered. it was dark so I couldn't figure out who was possibly using my toilet at the time. "Mayson na you be that... See how your shi* dey smell anyhow" I struggled to say. "No...no o.. na me Thompson o" Thompson said in a sober voice "my belle dey turn me I swear... E be like say... O God...yeh... Jesus" "you see wetin u cause?" I said holding my belly tight. I was. Struggling to survive. "Temy... Do me one small favor abeg" Thompson pleaded. "wetin happen" I inquired "I need water to take flush... And your toilet don cast asin, eh... E don cast finish... that moi moi don finish me, I no dey ever chop mama Joan moi moi again" Thompson said. It was as if he was crying in the toilet, I felt miserable and helpless myself, I really needed to use the toilet... Like Asap. "Where Mayson... The level affect am too" Thompson inquired. I looked towards the direction of Mayson, and there he was sleeping like a new born baby. The moi moi had no effect on him at all. In fact he was smiling in his sleep. I immediately ran out to my neighbors room in the cold night to beg him to use his toilet. Well... It wasn't a sight to behold. E get who no know Waytn moi moi be for this Naija They all do. Keep it coming and thanks for the update thus far. I'm loving. Much love BRO. 1 Like |

YungTemy: The van made a U-turn round the school auditorium and sped off straight to the crime office. And there I was in the middle of two security guards, like I had stolen a huge part of Nigeria's treasury or something. It was indeed a misfortune for me. "bros, we no do anything o" I tried explaining to one of the officers in the vehicle. "don't you know, ASUU is on strike and nobody ... No student should be in the school premises" the driver said. "but.. We didn't know" Mayson tried to explain. "we just came to have fun, that's all" "which school do you attend?" He asked "we are final year students of Ambrose Alli University" I said "Ambrose Alli?...Ahh"??.. You guys will be investigated" he said. At the mention of AAU, there was a sudden calmness in the vehicle. No one said a word, the only sound we could hear was the voice a Benin lady forming posh British Accent on radio. I giggled. "so you dey laugh... Na SARS go investigate Una today" the security guard beside me said. I observed him closely, and I could see three long tribal marks on both side of his face. It was as if, he fought with huge dogs, cat or lion while he was still a kid but that wasn't my business. The vehicle halted at the crime office. We were told to come out of the vehicle, We came out and there we were face to face with the chief security officer. Officer: So you guys are causing nuisance in this school environment? Me: Sire, it's not the way you look at it. Officer: I don't have much to say right now. You guys will be investigated... Where are your ID card s? Mayson: We didn't carry it along with us. Officer: Please take them inside. You are not serious. We were led inside the crime office, and told to take our sit. The humongous AC at the side of the huge hall blew cold breeze into my chest. There were about 5 securities on guard at that period, they payed no attention to us at all, instead there were deeply engrossed in their random discussion about issues that wouldn't put food on their table. Officer1: Why Neymar go leave Barcelona. That guy no dey reason well. How he wan take win awards now? Officer2: See... See this wan, if na you... You no go move? When money don dey involved. Officer3: Money no be about everything. See ehn... I don touch money, I know how it feels. Officer1: Wetin this one dey talk, na him you still dey here like this. I hope you know say you go soon retire. Last last na pension scheme go end am. Officer3: Rubbish, see ehn... I'm a prince. If I go to the Obas palace right now, .... Right now, ehn...they will give me an house and car. See this wan. Officer4: Why didn't you shave your hair when the last Oba died? Officer3: Of course I did. I shaved my hair when the last Oba passed on. Of course. Officer1: Point of correction, the Oba doesn't die, he only joined his ancestors. Officer3: That's exactly what I meant... What's the difference between join and went to meet his ancestors? "choo! This man dey ask me question?.." I tot. I was cut up in their conversation already. I looked down, and continued pressing my phone. ************************** "sir, its been 2 hrs now, pls we have to go home" Mayson pleaded. It has actually been 3 hrs since we've been in detention. We just sat there doing absolutely nothing. No one cared to ask, what our case was or what we had done wrong. "we can't let you go except you show us your ID cards" he said. "but its in school and we never thought of bringing it. We cant go back to ekpoma...,the distance is just too long" I said. "you guys must bring it... You will have to go back to school.. I'm sorry" the officer said. "mehn..." I wondered. I looked towards Maysons direction, and I could see sadness written all over his face. To be continued The fear of UNIBEN security officials is the beginning of wisdom... Those old men no get sense at all. Can't keep count of my encounters with them but trust me, they can get you frustrated at ease and they pay no attention to how you feel or what you think. People dey suffer no be small... Your only saving grace nah if you be UNIBEN student (with ) or u get a recognized institution ) or u know one or too persons there that can come to ur aid or stand as a sureties... |

YungTemy: Smart stayed in my room that night, I was confused and scared because I have seen too much. I kept praying deep down in my mind that those who were after Smart didn't trace him to my hostel. "what would become of me, if they realize that Smart was taking refuge in my house? " I thought hard. Well, of course, Smart was my friend, I just couldn't leave him to his fate. Anyone could be in his shoes. I could be in his shoes. "I be warn you about venturing in to all these school politics shittt. You no wan dey hear" I said. "Temy, politics been always dey my mind. Man gast make money... You know how e dey be now" he replied. "but you don go step on toes... Abi, other things still involve?" I asked with curiosity in my voice. "Temy... You no go understand. See ehn... I dey H o, enter kitchen go cook" "na eba dey o. I cooked one rugged soup like that... " I giggled. "arrange am like that" Smart said. I entered into the kitchen, and prepared garri in a big bowl. The eba was big enough to feed about 6 to 7 men, but I knew what Smart was capable of so I just had to keep it hundred (100). I can still recall when we had a long kush section in Mayson house. During that period, Mayson mum brought him some food stuffs to take him through the semester. Inside the huge sack were food stuffs such as provisions, rice ,beans, yam, garri and several wraps of foofoo inclusive, probably about 30, she also made ogbono soup. "mumsy love you o" Thompson said, as he puffed out a huge smoke out of his mouth. "oboy! Mumsy just organise this package for us, mumsy too love us o" I said "you... You say?" Mayson shocked, smoke escaped through his nose "which one be US again" "no be lie o... See fufu everywhere. Today don good I swear. After this session everywhere go burst" Smart said with a huge smile on his face. "this foodstuffs na till end of the month o. No reason am at all... No even go there. See this guy, hustle never pay o. Na this wan we dey use follow up" Mayson said defensively. But he was so wrong... So so wrong. The four of us were high on kush, we knew the consequences, we just couldn't avoid it. The ogbono soup was served eventually in a huge bowl. The soup was indeed rich. "Mumsy finish work o, see how she pack meat full this soup" I said, "where the foofoo" Smart inquired. I was sure he had his eyes locked on the fufu all along. The foofoo was served in a bowl by Smart, 15 huge wraps of fufu were brought forward, to appease the Four men. We looked at it and we smiled. Within a twinkle of eye, the mountain of foofoo had been levelled down to nothing. I laid with my belly on the bed, I was satisfied indeed or lemme put it this way, I was satisfactoricallified. The fufu went to the right direction. Thompson and Mayson were both filled up even though their stomachs were bottomless pit, they laid on the bed like snakes who had just swallowed an humongous meal, but.... But Smart wasn't satisfied. He kept licking the bowl of soup. "Mayson, that foofoo still remain?" He asked, "you still dey H?" we both asked at the same time. "no be small things o" Smart said, "I dey H o..." At the end, Smart was able to consume 5 extra Fufu like it was nothing. Ever since then, I regarded him as the fufu king. The almighty Smart, the Fufu Smart. Anyways back to the main issue, I brought the huge eba and the warmed soup to the table for us to do justice to. "Temy, your head dey there" Smart said with a smile. "I know say, you go smile. Yeye boy" I said. We were doing justice to the food, when we heard a loud knock on my door. My heart skipped thrice. I had just inserted a huge ball of eba through my throat, so I shocked. "shhh... Quiet" Smart beckoned to me. "Could it be those guys who were after Smart .. Who could that be exactly" I thought as I drank the water beside me to prevent me from shocking.
PS: Sowi for the slow response fam, Exam don reach. It has never been a dull moment. I'm still basking on the euphoria of this great article. kudos bro and more ofigbon for ur head. |

I can also remember a similar experience that happened to me at their Ekewan campus. We come night reading and knowing fully well that u don't come inside the school compound once it's past 7pm without students card. I and my guys (Jambites then) use strong head go watch football match (Champions League) and when we were done, we come jump fence. Oboy, nah so this security personnels hold us oh. E come be say cultists jump fence enter school prior to that day and collected the security on duty's gun. This people talk say nah we be the cultists upon say dem Search our bags and phones but at the end, them call Agho police division office and before they arrived, I and my friends were freed but they sent us out (that was happening at about 12am). We had no choice other than to go crash for one of our guy place. Them torture every other person aside me coz they said I looked innocent and I didn't take any phone along with me, moreover I was composed and rightly answered all questions they asked me during the interrogation. I can't forget that incident and many others I experienced at UNIBEN (Ekewan campus). Thanks for bringing back those moments and memories. More grace (YungTemy)... 3 Likes 1 Share |
