Real Madrid have made a world breaking record. The won Juventus 4-1 at the finals of the Champions League. C-Ronaldo successfully scored 2 goals out of the 3 while Casemiero scored one goal and Asensio scored one last goal the 89th minute. For Juventus Manjzukic scored the only goal for Juventus. This would also be Zidane's second championship. Congrats to them. Cc: Lalasticlala, Seun, Myne14

Hello Nairalanders, I and a team of guys are working on an animated sitcom webseries which would be something like Boondocks (for those who have watched Boondocks). We would have animated characters that portray events in the Nigerian celebrity world like wizkid beef with Dammy Krane, Blackface and 2Face beef, Linda Ikeji and wizkid beef, and so many other stuffs. Imagine Boondocks in a Nigerian version. What do you think guys. How's the idea |

Hello house I'm currently working on setting an online store and I'm looking for merchant in Lagos is at Computer village and sells game consoles and CDs new. I'm looking at competitive prices, cheaper than what other online stores are offering to actually grab the market. How it works is this, when we get an order we contact vendor, pay and pickup product. If customer is not interested we send back product to vendor. For expensive products we can connect vendor directly to the customer to handle merchandise and pay us the money added on top. Kindly drop your contact of whatsapp if this works for you |

Payporte Online Shopping Mall is set to launch offline stores very soon. The Big Brother Naija sponsors made this announcement on their Instagram handle Sunday evening, 25th of March 2016. They wrote: "Great News #PayPorters!!! Want to walk into a #PayPorte store and have a unique shopping experience? Guess what? We will be opening our offline store soon. Guess the location and tag 5 of your friends to win BBN PayPorte souvenirs and also stand a chance to be invited to the grand opening with 50% discount voucher #JustForYou" Hopefully they'd be competiting with offline fashion brands like Mr Price, Max and RedTag.

EbukaHades10:Why not pay before delivery then |
Hello, everyone. Sorry for the length. If you shopped online at Jumia/Konga, did you pay online before your order was deliver? Why/why not? So I keep reading about Jumia, Konga, and all these new ecommerce plays popping up in Nigeria. But I was under the impression bank penetration is low, card/internet banking penetration is low, and even if people have cards/online banking accounts, the vast majority of people still use cash for e-commerce (which is almost an oxymoron for me but that's besides the point). I think Jumia/Konga personnel have said in past interviews that their orders are mostly cash on delivery. Pretty interesting topic so I thought I'd put it to the Nairalanders and see what you guys think. I guess I'd like to hear views on this generally. If you've paid for an order on Jumia/Konga before did you pay in advance with card/internet banking/quickteller or cash on delivery? Why? What do you think are the key things preventing those that have bank accounts/online banking/cards from paying online? Does the threat of fraud/insecurity still loom large? Is it not a fraud/thing thing but more of a trusting Jumia/Kong to deliver and deliver the right product thing? Is it that even if all cardholders paid online, penetration is so low that that doesn't really make a big impact? I know we celebrate Jumia/Konga/and all but I'm thinking it must be pretty hard to do cash-based ecommerce at scale sustainably. I know both companies are in growth stage <5yr old, but nonetheless both are also not (yet) making so much profit (I believe). And if you contrast with ecommerce in other markets, Amazon for instance, a big boost to the business model is getting paid online by customers before having to pay suppliers (e.g., Google "Amazon + negative operating cycle" .Lastly I also wonder if it because of fraud but if that's the case why do Nigerians engage on Ponzi schemes and pay into people's account they don't even know but are not ready to do so for products they want. Is it a case of misplaced priorities? Sorry for the length, but super interested to know thoughts and experiences. Thanks! Cc: Lalasticlala, Seun |
Tomorrow will be eviction day for the Housemates of the Big Brother Naija reality tv show. Four Housemates have been put up for eviction, Debbie-Rise, Tboss, Thin Tall Tony and Efe, with the viewers throwing their votes behind the housemates they want to stay in the house. Online polls as at yesterday indicate that Tboss had finally overtaken Efe as the most liked housemate in the eviction group. But from online polls today at Bigbrothernaija.net Efe have finally taken over with slightly some votes. We can wait to see who wins...

Coretta Scott King (April 27, 1927 – January 30, 2006) was an American author, activist, civil rights leader, and the wife of Martin Luther King, Jr. from 1953 until his death in 1968. Coretta Scott King helped lead the African-American Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. King was an active advocate for African-American equality. King met her husband while in college, and their participation escalated until they became central to the movement. In her early life, Coretta was an accomplished singer, and she often incorporated music into her civil rights work. https://static.boredpanda.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/image-58c0085c3a85f__700.jpg King played a prominent role in the years after her husband's 1968 assassination when she took on the leadership of the struggle for racial equality herself and became active in the Women's Movement. King founded the King Center and sought to make his birthday a national holiday. King finally succeeded when Ronald Reagan signed legislation which established Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. She later broadened her scope to include both opposition to apartheid and advocacy for LGBT rights. King became friends with many politicians before and after Martin Luther King's death, most notably John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Robert F. Kennedy. John F. Kennedy's phone call to her during the 1960 election was what she liked to believe was behind his victory. In August 2005, King suffered a stroke which paralyzed her right side and left her unable to speak; five months later she died of respiratory failure due to complications from ovarian cancer. Her funeral was attended by some 10,000 people, including four of five living US presidents. She was temporarily buried on the grounds of the King Center until being interred next to her husband. She was inducted into the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame and was the first African-American to lie in State in the Georgia State Capitol. King has been referred to as "First Lady of the Civil Rights Movement". |
March 8 is International Women's Day (US has its equivalent on the 26th of August) which celebrates the struggle for women's rights. Throughout history, many strong women had to rise against the odds and fight for their dreams and passions, equality and solidarity among men. Their bravery contributed to shaping today's world, and has to be remembered.
