I actually tried to establish that. Unfortunately he has it blotted out in the attachment. Perhaps someone else can provide this information.

Only goldengem can perhaps, if we don't have complete info of that single successful outcome, we'd continue to run in circles

This is curious. I'd have thought they'd evaluate that positively. At the same time, we've got only one case of positive evaluation for ICAN and several cases of negative evaluation, if I'm correct. I find it difficult to believe it's down to the officer assessing the qualification, as WES should have a standard they abide by.
Surely we need more cases before saying anything further on this.

Truth is if we had enough info as per month of passing exam from goldengem then we can infer that it is the new syllabus. Curiously even if you qualify in 2014 November, you must have written at least 50% of 2011 syllabus. If we have full info from goldengem, maybe other aggrieved people can appeal the decision.

JohnspeakU:
4 Bullets For Effective Monetization of Your Talent Career
By Johnspeak Uwangue (Motivational Speaker, Talent Manager and Coach)

As a talent manager and coach, about 80% of the questions that I've always been asked has been on how to monetize one's talents. Working with a talent will never be accepted as a job in this part of the world until it starts bringing in money. Money! Ego, Owo, Igho, Kudi, is the only thing most Africans wants to see and hear about. Believe me if I tell you that the sole reason why most African parents send their kids to school is so that they can become big men and women with plenty of money to brag about. I shy away from talent monetization simply because before money starts flowing in, there are things that needs to be in place but most talented people are so in haste to reap the fruits of their labours that they end up reaping unripe fruits.
I want to share with you just four bullets that you need to shoot in order for money to start flowing in.

- Be Good
In whatever you do please and please make sure you have developed yourself to a certain level before promoting yourself or talents/products. People pay for things more when those things were recommended to them by someone else and the simple truth Is no matter how well packaged you are, if you are not good, no one will recommend you. I know of a comedian who doesn't spend money on promoting himself but the money he gets on a monthly basis even most of the so called popular comedians can't boast of it. Why? The guy is just so goooooood.

- Good Packaging
To be good is good but that isn't enough. People are more attracted to the packaging of a product before deciding whether to pay for it or not. How you package your talents will determine how much will be paid for them. If you package your talent(s) cheaply, people will bargain with you as if they are pricing to buy crayfish.

- Let The World Know That You Are In It For The Money
You need to let everyone that cares to listen know that you are in it for the money from the onset otherwise, they will expect you to do free stuff. It's sad when people expect you to do free stuff but these same people will pay heavily on someone else who does the same thing with you. You should be the one to decide when to do free stuff not someone else. Most people are sometimes surprised when some talented people ask them to pay for services rendered why? Because they thought they are doing it as an hobby. People need to know that this is your job and not just an hobby.

- Build A Very Viable Brand
A good brand cannot be unnoticed. A brand is not just a name, it's an identity, it carries the DNA of what you do. Brands give people bragging rights. Nowadays, people don't just buy products or pay for services, they pay for brands. For example, which would you prefer to wear; a made in Aba wear or a Gucci or Louis Vulton wear. Even if an Aba company produces quality wears most people will still dish it for a brand. The wisdom of a poor man is not always regarded. Not because he's poor but because he lacks the aforementioned. So, when someone starts complaining of his or her inability to monetize ask them if they have read the article by Johnspeak Uwangue "4 Bullets for Effective Talent Monetization".

There is love in sharing, please share through whatever platform you can (blogs, Facebook, instagram, whatsapp, etc) .

Succeed You Must!

At least the parents were not treated like animals. Unlike in Albania, the first officially declared atheist nation. The atheist state would imprisoned and tortured anyone who had a name related to any religion. If your name was peter, you had to change it, or else you would be imprisoned, tortured and then killed. Changing your name of course wasn't enough to keep you alive, you had to renounce God and convert to atheism. If you refused, you would be executed.

But this was in the past Oga

I want to appreciate everyone here. I have been a silent follower of this thread . I am still battling with on or two stages of the process but I am very close to diving in the pool.

I just want to add a simple tip for those of us who need to make calls to Canada frequently. Calling WES for instance, you might wait for up to 20 mins before you are connected.

All you need to do is to use Skype. Buy a subscription (Canada) for $2.99 roughly about 1,110 naira with a GT card. This subscription gives you unlimited (yea you heard me) calls to any Canadian number for a whole month.

Please note that Subscription is different from buying Skype credits

I hope this helps

Like seriously? what if reverse is d case now? eg: I bet arsenal draw and they ended up scoring their winning goal at 92mins, will they still record it as draw?

By 90 mins I mean normal regulation time so even if it's 92 that's added time and still part of 90 mins. Arsenal scored in extra time hence your loss.

Difference here is regulation time and extra time. By extra time I mean playing time before a penalty shoot out

Ok bro my two cents is that IELTS is not knowledge based. So nothing too technical and no need for logic.

Strategy for reading is copy and paste when asked to ,paraphrase and predict answers, and never try to read and understand the passage

Strategy for listening is to practice till you have high scores. I recommend simulating exam conditions by printing your practise sheet and using Bluetooth headphones (if you can). Practise as if you were in the exam hall. I have found laptops to be distracting and that's purely a personal experience.

Indeed it is not an algebra exam
DatechMan:

Firstly the score for each band is subjected to review by BC. This means it is not cast in stone.
If we go by the believe that 9.0 is 40/40 then there is no need to debate. 1500 is the answer since xpizzy got 9.0

In mathematics x < 1500 is a number just like xpizzy pointed out. 1499.999∞

However the smallest unit of money denomination is 0.01$. Therefore only 1499.99 would be logical.

This is IELTS and I want to believe you're not being tested on algebra. $1500 should be about correct.

Thanks for the correction, I actually misconstrued academic scoring for general so in fact i must have had a perfect score
Kontagious:

The call for more input was solely to educate future test takers just in case a similar case reoccurs.

However, in reading, only 40 gives band 9 and only 39 gives band 8.5. So, for you to have scored 9, means you got all 40 questions right.

For talk2jt who scored 8.5, we are not sure which question she missed, could be the question in discussion or another. But if we have informed discussion on this type of question, others might just benefit as well.

Bro,

No need for specious argument, in maths if x is less than 1500 it is written as x<1500.

X is a variable from 1-1499.999999999999999. That being said that listening and reading are purely objective and standardised. Writing and speaking has input from humans and it is subject to subjectivity in appraisal.

More importantly, You don't even know if you got it right because 39 is still a band 9 so there is a possibility you got it right and I got it wrong. I don't know

What I know is ; I couldn't have missed more than 1 question and all this argument will not increase crs or land an ITA

Kontagious:

Grammarians and mathematicians should comann put mouth in this matter o. If passage says less than X, then X should automatically be ruled out as maximum. My thought.

Hi guys,

For those that wrote the GT exam on 30th September 2017 and scored 9. I'm really curious about a particular question. The passage said they only ship parcels less than $1500 and the question asked what is the maximum amount that can be shipped. I wrote $1499. You know how they say you shouldn't change the text in the passage. I scored 8.5 so I don't know exactly which question I missed but I really wanna know the answer to that particular question. Thank you.

I don't like conspiracy theories but I feel a lot of people got less scores than they deserved in writing . Mine was LRWS 8.5 9.0 7. 5 8
I am wondering how a lot of people got a 7. I have seen a lot of high band scorers having a 7 in writing.

talk2jt:
Finally checked my result

Listening 8.5
Reading 8.5
Writing 7.0
Speaking 7.5

Finally entered the pool. My score is 427. I really hope the draws start to come down.
