Help! Is This Query Letter Necessary? Absenteeism From Saturday’s Exercise Session My Boss is at it again, this time he gave more than 16 staff queries for absenteeism from Saturday’s Exercise Session, which is not part of our employment agreement.
On Saturday, we are mandated to come to the office from 6: 00 am to 8: 00 am for one hour of exercise. I don’t turn up for Saturday’s Exercise Session due to the security and transport fare challenge
Transport Fare Saturday’s exercise session is taking a toll on me financially, I spend N600 daily to and from work, Monday to Friday. My take-home-pay is not up to Nigeria’s minimum wage Adding Saturday to my transport budget would drain me financially Security I am mindful of the security situation in my area. On more than one occasion, people have been robbed/killed at an early hour in the morning, giving rise to fear and security consciousness My question is, why are Nigerian Boss’ this Heartless? Was it perversity we longed to address this? What hope lies in secrecy if Boss’ continue to treat employees like a slave?
I'd for starters, take off/redact the names of other people in the document. This Query gives you an opportunity to advise management. On the one hand, it is a fact that the last Saturday was an election day and there was restriction of movement as such you have an Alibi. On the other hand, you should highlight that in the Era of technology, you have the opportunity to join the exercise session from home via WhatsApp or Zoom. You should appeal to management to enable this feature as an option to encourage participation. You need to sell this to management that it helps you to solve the problems of high cost of transportation and the challenging security issue that you have in your environment. So, going this route is going to either earn you a pat on the back if management is open and progressive or earn you reprimand if the management are full of dinosaurs. I know it's a shot in the dark, but I'd rather take it |

epdcan: Good day everyone! Please I need some advice. My family and I soft landed September last year in Ontario and opened bank accounts. Didn't apply for health insurance or child benefits or anything. Please I have read and heard conflicting opinions on the need to file tax. Please I need guidance on this. Note that we're returning this year. Thank you very much! While the Administrative practice if the CRA is case by case, the General rule is that Canadian Residents must file world income. Having a bank account in Canada is an evidence of secondary ties see Income Tax Folio S5-F1-C1. Another contentious issue is that you declared an address on your bank account which CRA may regard as a place of dwelling. Having arrived in September, at best, you may be classified as a part-year resident. As a part year resident, it has to be established whether you have a Fresh Start or Clean Break. See ITA 250(1)(a) and Income Tax Folio S5-F1-C1. There is clear evidence that you indeed have a fresh start. However you left Canada without closing your account so it cannot be deemed a clean break. In conclusion, I’d advise you to file even if it is zero as this is allowed by the Income Tax Act, in the future, you can file an amended return. When you return you will file form RC66 also. 2 Likes |

it has nothing to do with poverty, even footballers here who play on a semi professional level would tell you UK used boots are better than the new ones you see in the market Take an experiment, go to a trusted TV repairer and talk to him about this. do that and tell us his opinion Again this is poverty speaking that UK used was once new ? Why can't you afford the new one ? Huh? It is poverty and lack. Please don't try to make sense out of nonsense. Nothing wrong in not having money. I buy tokunbo stuff but it's because I can't afford the new. If I can why would I be at the bottom of the food chain? Stop glorifying lack please 19 Likes 3 Shares |

I do not know about washing machines so I do not possess enough info to talk about that but as far as TVs are concerned UK used TVs have been proven by users to be better than new products. Again that can only be perspective and that kind of logic is just an offspring of the kind of poverty levels we find ourselves. I am not sure that there is anyone who has financial ability to buy something new and modern would go for something used and outmoded. Even when you do have money and choose to buy second hand, then that is a choice. It can never make it better than new. 2 Likes |

Most components in nameless brand are from well known brands like samsung, lg, philip etc. i will still maintain it that fouani store sells low standard and quality lg secifically made for the nigerian market. We are saying the same thing except for standard of quality. Fouani market's LG products meant for the Nigerian market. Before Samsung and LG made TV's affordable in Nigeria, y'all had a rear pregnant illumination box that weighs 100 pounds and needs a shelf to sit on. UK used should be bought simply because of affordability. It should be an alternative not the aim choice. The first LG TV I bought in 2011 is sitting on another family's wall and they, like me have had no issues. |

Not true. LG are produced in China and S.Korea albeit, they produce different product or similar products for different market with specifications of the regions in mind. Heheheheh. Caught in the act ! |

hopefulLandlord: The brand you'd buy won't be "nameless". LG, Samsung, Sony and any brand you can think of with world class standard are all available in UK used and they'd just be slightly more expensive than nameless UK used
UK used would last a lot longer as they used better quality materials to build it. about 1-3 is why I said you should use trusted sellers. I and all my friends have a particular seller in Alaba who we only buy from so he goes extra length to make sure we get the best and is always ready to replace the TV with another if it quickly develops fault as he has a reputation to protect and we do send him customers from time to time not all these bags of air warranty these stores claim to give and when you need it they'd start showing you some fine print about how what happened to the TV you bought from them yesterday isn't covered by the warranty then they'd tell you they can help you repair it if you want them to then they'd give you a bill that is like half of the price of the TV you just bought which would've cost 2-3K for repairs at Alaba. these warranties look good only if you never need them bro I am talking from personal experience had two washing machines. One from LG Lagos other one (UK used) from lawanson. Now i bought the UK used because it was half the price. Mind the same machine and same model no. Now after a month it started with problems from capacitor to diodes until the panel gave up. So I went to LG and they told me that they couldn't repair it and they told me the panel burnt because it is not localised for Nigeria. The Nigerian version is more sturdy and can take abuse from PHCN issues. The one bought from LG office is now 6 years and the Holy grail "UK used" was just sold for scrap last week for 4,800 naira pere. This is my personal experience. 3 Likes |

hopefulLandlord:
You're better off buying London used TVs from trusted Alaba sellers if you know any. all these new TVs sold here are actually of substandard quality, don't let names like "Fulani" deceive you. You are not better off buying UK used. When you buy from reputable distributors (Fouani being one) you get: 1 Warranty 2 After sales support 3 You are buying a version that is for the Nigerian market that can withstand surge, low current and all kinds of electrical brouhaha. So when you buy a nameless brand from UK. How do you get parts? 6 Likes |
