According to reports, the Rivers South-East Senatorial Liaison office built by Magnus Abe, the senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC , was set ablaze by political hoodlums yesterday evening. The office is located in Bori, traditional headquarters of Ogoni people and headquarters of Rivers South-East Senatorial District. The liaison office was the first of its kind in the history of Rivers South-East Senatorial District.

The construction of the largest mechanized farm in Nigeria has begun by private German investors in Plateau state. The farm, located on the Bokkos/Mangu border is being constructed by specialists on behalf of Vicampro, an allied and agricultural investment company.

Once finalized, the farm will have the capacity to produce and process tens of metric tonnes of potatoes, vegetables and other farm produce. At such capacity, the farm has the capability to significantly increase the farm production of Nigeria and contribute to the GDP of both Plateau state and Nigeria. Vicampro is also establishing similar farms in Jigawa, Sokoto and Kano State.

Three persons have been electrocuted leaving a few others with various degrees of burns and more than ten houses destroyed as a result of fire outbreak in Minna, the Niger State capital. The tragic incident which occurred over the weekend was allegedly caused by public power surge (high voltage following the installation of a transformer in the area).

A man identified as Malam Saidu Shehu died alongside his son Gambo Shehu in the incident...the third victim, a police inspector -Abu Gani gave up the ghost at the General Hospital in Minna.
