The Kaduna State Police Command has intercepted 33 bags of Indian hemp and 34 baskets of hard drugs from various suspects in Kaduna town. The Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu, who displayed the drugs before newsmen, said the police arrested over 150 suspects who were presently being prosecuted in courts.

The Commissioner added that the Police also recovered 10 bags of Indian hemp in ‘Bacco Bags’, 10 cartoons of hard drugs and 17 jerrycans of liquid toxicant acid.

Shehu, who thanked Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai for steering the campaign against illicit drugs said, “As you can see, we recorded this achievement in Kaduna town where we intercepted these drugs. We will continue to do our best in containing this menace in view of the negative consequences of drugs in the society.

As efforts to promote made in Nigeria products in order to rescue the economy continue, Innoson motors were spotted today in front of the National Assembly complex to the surprise and delight of Nigerians.

Meanwhile, reports have it that the local car manufacturer, Innoson motors is set to meet with the leadership of the National Assembly in a bid to boost the patronage of the company.

Innoson spokesman, Cornel Osigwe revealed that if the National Assembly endorsed the vehicles as official cars, it will increase the patronage from Nigerians and other African countries. He added that Innoson is working with certain banks in Nigeria to help Nigerians purchase durable and brand new Innoson vehicles instead of buying used ones from foreign countries.

The Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force through its operatives of the Explosive Ordinance Department also known as Anti Bomb Unit have recovered successfully from a building site an unexploded ordinance otherwise known as UXO being part of the civil war left overs buried on the ground in the war affected areas.

The object was recovered from the building site located around N.T.A Hostel axis of ogui in Enugu on Saturday, 13/2/16 in the afternoon following its discovery by builders as they were working at the site.

It was further gathered that the builders on sighting the suspected object,promptly alerted the state police command operatives who also arrived promptly at the scene for the evacuation of the unexploded ordinance.

Meanwhile,area has been rendered safe by the Explosive Ordinance Department operatives as builders are busy doing their construction at the site.

The suspected criminal elements who invaded three commercial banks in Ikirun town in Osun state on Friday have been arrested and were paraded by the State Police Command on Saturday. Items recovered from the suspects include over seven million Naira cash, three AK 47 rifles, 124 ammunition, one assault rifle with 12 rounds of live ammunition and a vehicle.
