PoliticsAbia 2015: Alex Otti Cannot Be Trusted by xtanburg(op): 1:05pm On Dec 30, 2014
When the former Group Managing Director/CEO of Diamond Bank Plc, Dr. Alex Otti resigned his position to contest for the 2015 governorship of Abia State, many of us thought that an intellectual had come to the contest. But when he started his venoms against the government of Governor Theodore Orji by calling it names, we knew that he had nothing to offer.

Otti who was originally from Arochukwu, with his state-of-the art building built there, ran away from his aboriginal village to claim Ngwa when he heard that the governorship in the 2015 elections was zoned to the Ukwa/Ngwa area. Nonetheless, Otti was at the same time speaking from both sides of his mouth that the zoning formula had been killed. That was when he wanted to contest from his Arochukwu village. But when he saw that the governor was bent on the decision that Ukwa/Ngwa must produce the next governor, he shifted gear.

Otti’s initial stand was his warning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the idea of zoning, and he said: “I learnt that you people said you have zoned the governorship to Abia South. No, it is wrong because the national leadership of the PDP had already killed the zoning arrangement in 2011. Remember, at that time the office of the president was zoned to the North, yet the South is occupying that position today. So, the contest must be thrown open.”

Those clamouring for Otti to succeed the present governor are just doing so based on sentiment. A severe examination of the man called Otti attests that he has more dubious gesticulations for power than people know. This is a man who contested the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primary in a hotel along Aba Road, Umuahia and used faked document to announce himself winner after he was deliberately blindfolded and swindled by the so-called Victor Umeh-led national leadership of APGA to the tune of $3million

While Otti was seeing himself as the winner of the primary election of the party, the true winner emerged in APGA in the person of Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba, who is the only credible candidate in the Abia APGA to contest the governorship election in 2015 with other political parties’ candidates.

What Otti is causing in the state has shown the man as an unintelligent person, no matter the three doctorate degrees his garrulous campaign team has been hyping that he has. His campaign is issue-baseless and one will not restrain to qualify him as an agent sent by his paymasters to make sure that he deconstructs the government of Governor Orji, which he knows that it will be difficult for him to achieve.

In that highlight, one observer had this to say: The various political parties should come out clean with their various programmes on how to build on that foundation and make the state one of the best. But instead of seeing such discourse, the factional APGA governorship candidate, Alex Otti and his camp have continued to insult the sensibilities of Abians by making frivolous claims and propaganda that do not hold water or contribute to the uplifting of the political debate. For instance, how can anybody in his rightful senses claim that Governor Orji, who has provided a number of legacy structures that are visible everywhere, has not done anything?

It is pertinent to write that Otti is dead on arrival and his political coffin would be nailed in the 2015 general elections. He knows that he is not heading anywhere; hence he resorts to throwing stones by saying that the PDP candidate in the state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, was being sponsored by the state government. What Otti did not realize, according to a critic, is that Dr. Ikpeazu, as a bona fide citizen of Abia State, is free to contest any election of his choice, provided he is qualified to run in that election.

However, in the light of that, the Government of Abia State through the sociable Chief Press Secretary to the Abia State Governor, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, had described the likes of Umeh and Otti as pathological liars and agents of destruction masquerading as politicians. The question that the governor had asked through Ajunwa is: “Where were Umeh and Otti when His Excellency Governor Theodore Orji through his inspiring doggedness restored sanity and peace in Aba in particular and Abia in general by ending kidnapping which completely brought all activities in the state to a standstill? Where were Umeh and Otti when Governor Theodore Orji started and completed the hitherto impassable Aba/Owerri Road?”

The puzzle continued: “Where were Umeh and Otti when His Excellency started the de-silting of drains in Aba? Where were Umeh and Otti when Governor T.A. Orji constructed the Uruakpa Road in Aba South? Where were they when Governor Orji started and completed the reconstruction of Ukwu Mango section of Faulks Road Aba (1.2km)? Where were Umeh and Otti when Governor Orji started and completed the access road to the Geometric Power Plant Aba? Where were they when Governor Orji restored the manhood of Abians? (To borrow the insightful words of Chief Ojo Maduekwe), just to mention but a few.”

Ajunwa had seen that Otti and his co-travellers were economic with the truth about the government of his boss, because they were jealous of Governor Orji’s laudable and verifiable achievements, which put him ahead of other past leaders of the state. Ajunwa was of the opinion that Governor Orji’s remarkable achievements have won him uncountable awards and laurels from all parts of the world.

He described his boss as one leader who does not believe in propaganda as a tool for governance, rather he believes in hard work and selfless service to humanity. Therefore, it is evident that Otti who aligns with Umeh to smear Governor Orji cannot be trusted, because as Nigerians know, Umeh is a man that cannot be trusted, because he is gullible with power.

Umeh’s tenure as APGA national chairman expired 5 years ago, yet he clung to the leadership of the party for selfish reasons. This is a man that Otti has embraced. Like father, they say, like son. It then means that Otti can never be trusted.
PoliticsNASARAWA 2015: Labaran Maku Dumps PDP, Emerges APGA Governorship Candidate by xtanburg(op): 11:46am On Dec 28, 2014
The immediate past Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, has dumped the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Maku has subsequently emerged the governorship candidate for APGA for the February 2015 governorship election in Nasarawa State.

It would be recalled that Maku had been aggrieved over the outcome of the PDP’s guber primaries in the state in which Mr. Yusuf Agabi emerged winner, and called on the national leadership of the party to cancel the results, but his request wasn’t granted.

Sources at the APGA headquarters in Abuja who pleaded anonymity disclosed that Maku’s name was submitted by the party before the December 26 deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as deadline for party’s to submit the names of their governorship candidates.

Other candidates submitted by the party as governorship candidates are the National Secretary of APGA, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, who is contesting for the Zamfara governorship seat, former Minister of Interior, Emmanuel Iheanacho (Imo State), Senator Anthony Agbo (Ebonyi State), and the former Managing Director of Diamond Bank, Alex Otti (Abia State).

Rubbish! how has he affected your life
babestella:
GEJ's administration.

1. Total reconstruction of the Benin Ore road was done during GEJ's tenure. Before now, travelers sleep in Orè for two to three days before getting to their destination and that was when OBJ was there.

2. Total transformation of our rail lines. Orè networks created between ABUJA, Kano and kaduna. Transformation of rail lines in LAGOS. Now the railway moves much more people than before when it was in comatose.

3. Establishing Federal Universities in all states of the Federation. OBJ did not do it.

4. Empowering the youths who have the zeal for entrepreneurship and development. We can see it in YouWIN program currently running now.

5. Feasible and accountable transformation in the agricultural sector which we all saw the launching of YEAP today in Abuja.

6. Many kilometers of road construction going on in the north.

7. Starting the Second Niger bridge. This was thrown into the thrash during OBJ tenure because our law makers in the north supported by those in the southwest never supported the bill each time it was mentioned.

8. Stability in petroleum supply. Before now, we suffered fuel scarcity every Xmas when OBJ was there. It became a ritual that every Xmas our hearts skip when you remember that you are going to travel and fuel will be scarce. It was always a scary experience.

9. Privatization of PHCN which was usually a conduit pipe, through which NIGERIANS stole money. OBJ spent more than 16 Billion dollars and when he left, the power sector was totally in ruins. It was privatized and the funds realized from the sale of this government assets were always shared amongst the state governments. Have you asked your state governor what he does with the monthly allocation he gets from ABUJA regularly?

10. Most federal roads that were abandoned by OBJ are all under construction today. LAGOS Ibadan expressway is a good example. The work is ongoing.
11. Apapa oshodi expressway is also ongoing. It was in ruins during OBJ tenure.

12. This is the most tolerant government I have ever seen in Nigeria. During OBJ's tenure, you are you to abuse him or come to media to insult him? The next morning, EFCC officials will be the ones to wake you up at 5 am with your file in their hands.

13. Total rehabilitation of all our international airports.

14. Encouraged local manufacture and assembly of vehicles in Nigeria thereby creating jobs and value. Eg, Inosson motors, Nissan, and peuogot.

15. Ajaokuta started production during GEJ's government. Right from Shagari's tenure, to Buhari, IBB, shonekan, Abdulsalam and OBJ, steel mill was in comatose. GEJ transformed it and it started working. People are employed there.

16. Building of federal university in Katsina, something GMB never saw necessary when he was head state.

17. Building of schools and encouraging northerners to send their wards to school so as to liberate them from the clutches of evil islamic cleric who brainwash them into embracing all manners of evil including suicide bombing.

18. Encourament in the entertainment industry is remarkable.

Etc more to come soon.

Been pondering over this 2011 election result, the data here on (http://nigeriaelections.org/presidential.php) is a food for thought really.

How can President Jonathan defeat Gen. Buhari in 2015?.

Wait a minute, President Jonathan had more support than Gen. Buhari in 2011; yet overall, President Jonathan had 58.89% as against Gen. Buhari's 31.89%.

Gen. Buhari contested solely on the CPC platform, a not too popular political party and polled over 12 Million votes being 31.89% of all the total vote cast in 2011 beating the ACN - 5.41%, ANPP - 2.40%, and other political parties - 1.32%.

In 2011, The margin between President Jonathan and Gen. Buhari in 2011 was 27% ( 58.89% - 31.89%). Whence President Jonathan enjoyed more popularity across all region and caught the heart of the people because of his ill-treatment by the Cabals who did not want his emergence as President after President Yar-adua's demise and coupled with the fact that he had no shoes. Nigerians were sympathetic and compassionate, hence their vote and massive support for him(GEJ).

Now what do you think about the current trend in the polity? Do you think President Jonathan will still defeat Gen. Buhari? or will the table be turned around now, since majority of President Jonathan's supporters have defected to the APC and more young people, even the old and elderly are more politically aware than in 2011 and are disgruntled about President Jonathan's style of governance which has been characterized with gross misappropriation, clueless and corrupt persons around him.

Now More persons are routing for Gen. Buhari as compared to President Jonathan. Will the merger between other political parties (ACN, CPC, ANPP, a faction of APGA) and the votes of disgruntled Nigerians who previously voted President Jonathan in 2011 now make up this 27% in 2015 and more, or will President Jonathan still cushion this threat and still come out smoking by defeating Gen. Buhari out-rightly?.

Remember, 2011 was quite close for Gen.Buhari even against all odds.

#myhelicopterview... it will be a tight contest really which may result into a run-off. Only if ofcourse President Jonathan will discard his "one man one vote principle" and do otherwise.........( RIG )

Otti was forced outta Diamond Bank his hands are not clean, he tried to buy over Diamond Bank by contracting a foreign technical partner. He fell outta favour the same way he did when he was the Executive Director, Public Sector and gunning to become first banks GMD. Abians Be Wise... Another future mortgager in the Making.

Fantastic job he did at Diamond Bank, but twas FBN's Strategies he took there when He couldn't emerge GMD.

Have U asked yourself if he (Alex Otti) is really an NGWA Man? Reason he couldn't make the PDP's final list and hence his defection to APGA, a dead party in Abia where Akomas and the rest could even win an Election.

I don't know about the man Ogah, but will peg my research pin on him and find out who he is and how far he has done and being in politics.

As for Ikpeazu and Alex Otti they cannot be trusted as they both remain Ochendo's stalwarts.

Alex Otti did not voluntarily resign from Diamond Bank, he was given an option to quit or be forcefully disgraced outta office. Reason being that during the just concluded private plcement offer by Diamond Bank, Alex Otti tried to buy half of the shares of DB through a foreign technical partner and d deal didn't pull through. Hence d owner, Pascal Dozie installing his son. So far none of them two can be trusted.

Abia need total liberation from d shackles of PDP and Ochendo.

To me, I rather Ogah or Chief Nyerere Anyim of the APC.
