@Snazzy, I don't understnd wat u meant by "Pls be guided". Well to d best of my knowledge I haven't said anyfn wrong nor tlk down anyone. I just gave an insight to why thrs a delay and in d same vein admonish those who wldnt get the final call by FBN, even as I am aware the Bank needs more hands.

I think u shld always read thru post, digest d content b4 commenting, so u dnt misunderstnd or rather misqoute pple n their motive 4 posting comments.

Bottomline, many FBN staff read thru everyones comment but decides nt to post comments or give the true picture of what happens @d HCMDs unit abt d recruitment process and what to expect @ FBN, wat level u r coming in as, wat pay, d nuimber of weeks u r staying @ d academy, wat unit they r likely recruitng 4 to fill within d bank etc. bcuz some pple won't understand y they r doing this and wldnt read to digest post or comment. Lemme state ds,only d best of d best wld be selected and remember if u dnt mk it thru isn't d end of a whole world. To d best of my knowledge (pls dnt quote me) a lotta u wld mk it thru bur nt all wld. So patience is wat is needed nw. If FBN doesn't revert ds Dec, den kn training sch is Jan. FBN is focusing on d new banks she just acquired in West Africa and Central Africa and also focusing on d 120yeears celebration next year. But this wldnt stop d process. So kp praying and hoping, remember FBN is full of surprises.

Please I think everyone should calm down and focus on being shortlisted for the Personality test first b4 the Documentation and Medical exercise. Many people would be dropped(God forbid) at this Personality test stage. At this stage, there are no wrong or right answers to the questions you will be administered, they just need you to prove, display and give answers in detail, though tricky the questions about your personality are, as they focus on discovering how you will function well at work. I think I have explained this in detail, and what you need to know, so asking more questions ( about documentation and age) will just cause more confusion. Please take time to read closely, U will understand and know what to do.

Remember, focus on passing your personality test, if U don't have the right working attitude FBN requires, u wont be invited for Documentation and that probably would be the end. So focus on Passing this and discard the Documentation part for now.

During documentation if successful and invited, you will be given a form to fill. Upon completion, U will have to defend everything you wrote down and present supporting documents. So if they ask about your primary school and U disregard that part, no one will ask you for any document. But your sixth sense should tell U the requirement for entry level role in FBN; Ur BSc, Masters, Prof. certification, NYSC etc.

Once you can present your testimonial, its also a go for you. Birth Certificate from General Hospital is Acceptable, but you need to show your WAEC certificate to confirm the date.

Your birth certificate is not enough to prove your age, hence FBN needs your WAEC certificate, cuz then wen U were filling ur DOB while registrating for WAEC examination, U did filled ur DOB details truthfully cuz u knew nothing about it. But now that the trend of falsifying DOBs and other detail, hence FBN corrective measure, this could have been part of the suggestions gotten from an assessment centre conducted years ago, on how the Strategic recruitment person can curb the trend in age falsification during recruitment exercise. And prospective employees like you gave an insightful suggestion like this during the assessment centre with this idea. Now its working.... #smiling

FBN will not give U any month to resign. U will ahve to resume TS immediately, if U need a month to resign, den you will have to resign and wait for next year to begin d process afresh. and mind u, no go resign if U neva get letter to enta training school ooooo.

Well, resigning without giving a 30days notice myt count against your integrity at work and to your previous employer, shld FBN decide to send correspondence to your previous employer for recommendation, they may decide to give an unethical feedback abt u. So weigh your options closely before taking the next step. Sometime, everything na risk, but are u a risk taker, if U eventually get your fingers burnt, can u deal with it.

All they want to see is your surname and firstname, other aint relevant. you do not need your transcript, no go shoot urself for leg if u carry am go. But if its on your mind to go and get an affidavit, still do, all na supporting document

Just to clear the FBN certificate verification and documentation officer's doubt and be sure you are on the right track, if you have your Photo-card for GCE, I mean the Old Photo-card they use for GCE btw 2000-2004 before everything now turned digital, then u can use that as a supporting document for your NECO, I know of someone who used that and it was accepted, dunno if they will still accept it. Abeg no quote me ooo....

Alright people, quick one...

FBN is very very very very very strict when it comes to documentation and certificate verification.

If there are disparities or discrepancies in your names or other detail, then I think you should get them fixed before documentation, because successful documentation and certificate verification is the key to medicals. But if there are issues with your documents then its a no no for FBN, they will not continue with your candidacy and you'll have to wait till the next recruitment process, then u re-apply and g through the headache of reading, preparing, HBP for result etc..... u know what I am talking about.

So make hay now as FBN focuses on your WAEC Certificates because it carries your real DOB, and if you want to use NECO, make sure U go with your real NECO certificate that has your DOB, then twill pass. But truly FBN prefers WAEC, but you might be lucky if you go with NECO and pull through. All U need is Prayers. FBN just want to be sure of your age. dats all.... shikena!!!

Remember, even if you lie your way through to get into the Bank, you might not last, as FBN does Background check yearly on all her over 15,000 staff. Then you will be asked to voluntarily resign if you are found wanting or forced out. But for the new people coming in, you will be fished out during confirmation period (after you've worked and earned the Armed robber salary for 6months or more). For confirmation, you will have to undergo another documentation/certificate verification process, and FBN will request for a letter of recommendation which will have to be sent to FBN from your primary school, secondary, university, referee, guarantors and other professional bodies, before you are certified and confirmed as full FBN staff. FBN goes as far as sending spies to your home location to ask your neighbours about your kind of person, if you are a trouble-maker or trouble-shooter(peacemaker or someone who settles problems), and if you are well behaved and of good character, they ask this also from your previous place of work and get recommendations before finally confirming your appointment. (E no go easy)

My people, there are more to this than we think, so if you know your ways aint right, and your documents aint complete or you have forged your age and other details. You better forget FBN now and move on , that trying to try your luck and when the hammer falls on you, U say FBN is wicked and heartless, then U say ur enemies are at work and U begin go night vigil dey cast and bind. Now you got an Insight, be wise.

If you have any correction or verification to make in your school, WAEC/NECO, workplace etc, now is the time before you are called for documentation, even if you dont use it for FBN, there are other equal recruiters that will do the same as FBN.

Last year, 180,000 persons wrote the aptitude test across the federation.

1,000 persons made it to the assessment centre, which was conducted in Lagos, Kano and Enugu, then 208 candidates made it finally into the prestigious training school and eventually to the Bank. So lets hope this year FBN increases the quota and accommodate more persons as the Bank needs more hands.

So if 1,500 made it to the AC, then I think more candidate will be invited to the TS.

There are lots of things to say, but I rather just tell you the basic things you need to know now. But subsequently, I will fill you in on events as they unfold. Just keep believing and pray hard. This time its not about how good or intelligent you are, its just favour and God's grace.

For those asking how many people would FirstBank employ? The bank is willing and ready to absorb as many as possible (I mean as many as possible), provided you are successful at every recruitment process. So I think this should help.

Then for those having to choose btw FBN and DiamondBank. To the best of my knowledge, every banking officer hasn't had a fulfilling career until he/she joins the FBN group, even if you go to DiamondBank today, U will still want to port to FBN. So why the flip?

Diamond Bank is also into core retail banking and you have the opportunity to learn as you grow. Really Diamondbank is a good place to be and work, the MD, Alex Otti was an ED with FBN before he was appointed by Sanusi to take charge of DiamondBank. So right now, DB is really building new branches and going deep into core retail, as they just re-branded and really thriving in retail banking. But in all, FBN is the one-stop shop for all banking solutions, where you learn and learn and work no dey finish.

On the whole, if asked to choose btw both banks, I will choose FBN over and over again, dunno about you or others. But for me, I will choose FBN. Dunno if this might interest you, I for one left the current leading non-banking financial institution brand in Nigeria (where I championed the Client communication desk) to join FBN. So U can Imagine, this leading non-banking financial institution brand pays more than many banking groups. It was my choice tho, and a risk I took... dunno if U like risk and can take one. To me risk taking is another name for me.....

I will advice you focus on ur assessment centre and channel ur energy into making sure you are successful IN THIS PROCESS.. Knock-off all thoughts of what you should expect as regards pay. Remember, FBN is currently one of the leading brands you can commit your career to, and FBN is full of surprises, so keep your mind at ease and pray you make it past this stage.

Secondly, FBN is a one stop shop 4 all banking services whc include Retail,Wholesale/commercial, corporate, Institutional,private and disapora banking. But basically FBN's strenght is Retail Banking and they hold sway in other arrays of banking solutions with over 750 branch network.

Retail deals with d average earner, that's whr Saving and current a/c falls in.
Wholesale/commercial deals with SMEs(small and medium scale biz)
Corporate deals with structured firms, and emerging corporate firm.
Institutional deals with Multinational corporations Oil and gas, telcom, building and construction, capital markt, manufacturing, conglomerate etc
Private deal with HNIs ( High networth Individuals), multi millonaire etc
Diaspora deals with Nigerians in foreign countries and continents.

The case study was abt service and Process improvement, while d addendum was abt an issue with d staff leaving to anoda bank. So I was ask to make a PP presentation highlighting d problems and causes, den advice d Strategic Recruitment manager on how to control the issue, and to those who already had a soured taste and have made up their mind to leave(port), what corrective measure cld be adopted to retain them and still win tehm back. Sounds easy tho, but u have jst 15mins 2 prepare ur slides, master ur lines and present it to d panel in 5mins. Hp ds helps

No one will be appointed to speak on behalf of ur team, U can only appoint som1 to take down suggested points whc will still b submitted to ur Panelist.

Pls note: Last years group discussion was somewhat related to d addendum given, so twas easy to decipher solutions. FBN is into retail banking and d bank has the highest branch network. So think abt wat process they need 2 adopt to deliver seamless service solution and give a plus 1 customer delight. Look @ FBN's strong compietitor in retail banking and what they r doing 2 outplay FBN.
U can also focus on d ideology dat FBN is meant 4 d old, amd try to advice on how fbn can win d youth segment d GTB n diamoind bank is thriving now.

Like I said in my previous lengthy post, U have to read different scenarios and select answers from your given options. I dnt think U need GMAT, but in-case, U might still prepare for it. Their tactic might have changed. the test time might be around 30 -50mins cant really remember that part now. the group discussion was 25mins. Might change this year dunno.4
Just prepare, I think I have given enough clues to chew on.

Well, opting to do d documentation on behalf of d team, may be likened to u being open and ready to take responsibility. Another plus 4 u tho, but its nt a guarantee 4 u oo if u no contribute in d discussion, u might loose points and not be selected. I can remember during my AC d bloke that volunteered to write on behalf of d team didn't make it. We were 6 in d team and twas only two persons in my group that made it thru. So u cld opt to assist d team, but bring in ur A game and contribute in d discussion.

Secondly, d Personality test will be administered to U in ur own comfort zone(ur home or office). A link will be sent to u and twill be timed.

@ all, I've been reading thru ds thread, quite interesting but
Lemme share with U my experience @ d FBN AC.

First of all, congrats to all who got the sms invite to the assessment centre, don't rejoice yet cus there is more shreading to b done, they r still gonna slect d best of d best. So listen carefully and follow my precept line by line. FBN might not tk more dan 100-250 new trainees nationwide. So b guided

Once U get to d AC,U'll go thru d accreditation stage. After accreditation, U will take another aptitude test, but more likened to an ability test where u'll have to think thru the scenario and choose answers from the options provided.

After which u will be divided into groups and then u'll be given a scenario to discuss with ur group. Don't argue or shout any1 down, nor interrupt, make sure U give points and make reasonable sense, don't repeat ur suggestions or findings. Smile while responding and if its possible, be the one to take down points and be concise about it, as the supervisor will ask that u submit ur findings on behalf of ur group.

Then an "addendum" will be given which u'll have to read thru to prepare ur slide. U shouldn't have more than 6-10slides, bur make it detailed if u can use animations to drive ur points from the addendum given, good one also. Pls note that u will be given 15mins to prepare ur slide and 5mins 2 present it. Remember while u r discussing with ur team, read ur addendum n note ur points. Then u'll butteress on ur point in ur slide presentation. Don't write stories, just give bullet points then explain thats why its called a powerpoint presentation. Be confident and bold, smile and focused, be sure of whatever point u make, even when they counter U and say u r wrong,always reinsist that to d best of ur own knowledge and how its obtainable(relating to ur addendum) that's wat u think. And remember to intoduce urself and what u r presenting and den thank d panel @ d end of ur presentation. Then remember don't stutter or sound unsure, twill count against U. Remember its 5mins 4 presentation and 20mins 4 preparing ur PPslide. Pls be confident ooooooo. Its germaine. And pls be calm and breatheeeeee, hold ur breathe and control ur pulse, anxiety and over excitement.

After d presentation, u'll go thru d interview stage, ds u'll b asked ur strenght, weakness, whr uv held a leadership role, wat process improvement idea do u have, ur level of creativity, alwaz remember to say u r a good team player, and u most prove and explain whr and how u were active as a team member and a team player. If u fit lie, lie ooo, nobody go ask U if na true or na lie, what is ur passion, why firstbank, why do u think we shld hire U, then know stuffs about FBN generally and read different interview questions.

Then after u r done for dat day. A week later u'll get an sms and email inviting u for a personality test. Then after answering it,u'll be sent an sms to update ur location, that whr u choose whr u wanna work, after which u'll wait as the whole process will be computed u must have a certain percentage score b4 u'll be invited to training sch, dats getting the almighty sms from FBN inviting U 4 medicals and training sch. So now yam and knife dey una hand.

I was at the assessment centre last year, made it to the training sch and FBN. Training sch was another interesting place. Quite Intensivvvvvvvvvvvvvve but fun. But above all prepare, prepare and prepare and pray pray pray as much as U can. Commit all to God and ask 4 favour. No overdo, remember overskill dey kill monkey.

Its a target driven role and you will be expected to win old customers, reactivate dormant a/cs, drive loan recovery and retireve bad loans amongst other things. Bur u will not be paid based on commission, U will have full entitlement as a staff. Bur marketing in banking is rewarding and interesting, U grow faster dan any other employee and u have an opportunity to port to any other bank of ur choice if u grow ur exp and professionalism. Bur marketing is real fun in Banking.
