Kissbliss:Thank you! I have called off the wedding I am concerned about the future and it seams bleak with him, if I go to visit him at his place and we have a little misunderstanding he wld just dash out of the house enter his car and zoom off straight to his village stay there for 3 days no text, no calls nothing. It is getting worse by the day. by the way this is his 3rd attempt to marry and he has even printed invitation cards just like our own.. for his previous exes one thing or the other the marriage plans would be scattered. And I remember the first time I asked him why he broke off his engagement with his ex fiancé he said 'cos she just hates my mother', now it is my turn and he is saying the same thing about me, I asked him how come all your exes hates your mother? He is in his late 30's 40 next year and yet he still dosnt get it! I am not the too spiritual kind but this the only explanation I can understand from this whole thing is that he may be under a spell cos talking to him is like talking to a brick wall, his parents dislikes any woman that comes close to him, but their hatred for me increased when I insisted he moved out of his parents house,, that was what caused his former engagement to end the lady wanted him to move out then his family said he should call it off, and till date you see him and his mother constantly criticizing his ex fiancé how she is a witch and so forth (I wonder what they would be saying about me) His father tells him to just get me pregnant that after 3 children we can now do marriage then we are sure that we can live as husband and wife I refused and insisted I would do court and trad marriage. So many reasons why they don't like me. He keeps telling me his parents like me but I honestly do not see the love. They are sarcastic and hostile to me with style. Well I thank God it is all over. |
Ever since his father accompanied my fiancé to my house to meet my dad for the first time my parents familiarized with his father ( his mom stayed back she is not so strong) although she travels, till date his dad has never called my parents to for once. Neither has his mom how can we be planning a wedding by December and the both parents never communicated is it a healthy one? I am baffled cos my fiancé is almost obsessed about his parents and lets them make decisions for him, after he called my father to complain that I hate his village people, I was angry with my fiancé so we started to argue via text msg. So I noticed that I would send him a text and he wld reply me with a number I wasn't familiar with. he sent me over 10 msgs with it so I decided to reply him with that ( but my instincts warned me that it may be a trap) but then he just got another new phone so I felt it was a new phone line he bought. So I sent him a text msg to stay away from me that he is not husband material and he has not learnt from his past experiences that he is a puppet. He replied immediately with that same phone number that I should expatiate on what I meant by that text, that was around 1am. I ignored he repeatedly sent me the msgs that I shld explain better but I slept off. The next day his uncles started calling me that they saw the msg I sent to my fiancé father! That his father sent for all his aunt's and uncles to show them what I sent to him. Then I knew that it was just a trap. Though the wedding is on hold and I have left him he still calls me to come visit him but I am just tired of all this drama that comes with him and his family!(pls correct me if I am wrong) thank you. |
Ok here is mine! I have been engaged to this man, I love him and I feel he loves me .. Couple of months ago I travelled to visit my parents so I stayed for close to a month cos i had to settle all the wedding arrangements ( pay for hall food, see the priest etc) I and my fiancée were all lovey dovey on phone all these while. One morning he called me with a very harsh tone started shouting at me that he doesn't understand this my traditional marriage list, I was trying to explain that if the burden was too much we can shift it he started scolding me to keep quiet. That In fact him and his father would come to see my dad to review the list. When he said that I was upset. He came to ask for my hand in marriage December 2010 till now he has been very sluggish! My parents are bugging me on that why the delay, besides June this year my fiancé came to see my dad to review this same list and my dad scraped lots of things off, my fiancé now fixed a date for trad and informed my dad, so I was upset cos this issue has been over flogged, my fiancé is stable financially and can do it in a heart beat if he means to.. I asked him where he was he told me he was in his village and him and his dad had concluded to come the next week to review this same list. So I asked him why is it that when he goes to his village his attitude towards me changes? ( this is not the first time oo) he started yelling at me that he would call my father and tell him how I hate his village people. He called my father, the whole thing escalated now the wedding has been stalled. I want to know if I am wrong here. Thank you . |
martinz1:You never know, maybe to tutor his daughter. When I was in ss1 my dad got me a male chemistry tutor and all he does was just to touch me when we were alone. Pervert! |
I want to ask yuzedo out! Where is he ![]() |
aisha2: I lost my mother to cancer, I was in my final year at university when she was ill. I moved out of the hostel to care for her. Most days I had to be forced off to school to write my final exams. I didnt mind having an extra year, all I wanted was to be close to her and do all it takes to make her all better. So sorry for your loss dear! thanks for your contribution ![]() |
andromida: I don't think you should ignore your feelings, yes you should be understanding about his mom's illness but he should not have kept building a house you will both live in after the wedding from you. A house is too major a decision for him to keep you in the dark, you feel sad because you know what he did is not right with you. Thanks a lot, for your contribution if he has a bad day for eg, and he comes home I could sense it from his demeanor he would be very quiet, I would ask him if he is fine, I hope u r ok? Over and over he would be like nothing! And maybe if he can't bottle up his feelings he would be like he has to go to the village, if I want to follow him he wld say don't worry I wld be back ( so unlike him that wants me to go to the village 247) then he would go home and pour out his heart to his parents and come back home and put on a brave face, and u can see how relieved he would be, I feel so left out that he can't tell me when he is hurting but I tell him everything he knows me in and out. I want to share in his pain also and when I told him he said ok has noted it but he is still doing it. |
aisha2: The guy has a land in his village, You come in dictating for him where to buy land. Do you know the cost of land in town? How much are you going to contribute to the venture and fund your own advice?Like I said, earlier stages of our rship was very challenging cos he was a serious mama's boy, he changed when he moved out of his parents house which was quite a battle, in fact his plan was for us to get married and live there so when I resisted he reported me to mama and it caused quite a strain in our Rship cos she said I want to separate her son from her, I don't want to go into details cos we have moved past that, and gradually my man started changing and I truly appreciate it, I just have that deap seated fear in me that when we move back close to his family those attitudes would spring up again, his family are nice but if you give them room they may abuse it, they are quite controlling, I am not against him visiting his mom he goes to his to his village every day from work, but I am just hurt that I am always the last to know and yet i am to be his wife, I heard every major decision he is taking from mom it is not fair! And if I had not gone till now, I still wldnt have known, does he wants to surprise me when the building is completed, Though he has apologized. Besides both our offices are very far from the village, there is no electricity and the roads are horrible , it is just not comfortable at all so why suffer because he wants to stay close to ma! I have my own life to live my life should not revolve around another..And to buy another land in town with good road and electricity we are equal to the task by God's grace we are both working. |
Sophyrocks: I dnt know what you are still waiting for. The mere fact that he is even a mama's boy should shake the cells in your brain to know what to do. I fear for you. If you can't tell yourself the truth now that you have the chance then I dnt know what to tell you. Honestly ask yourself 'is this how i am gonna live for the rest of life'? Please use your brain. Its not rocket science. Thanks for your contribution, our earlier stage of dating was challenging cos he was too attached and tells all to his mom, not necessarily reporting but asking for their advice or I see it as he gossips me but he is has changed not 100 percent sha and I see him trying to make the effort to be better ,that is the only challenge I have with him other than that he treats me like a queen and I can honestly say I am happy in the Relationship that was why I was quite shocked when I saw the sand and blocks used for the building. All I want to know is if I was not considerate to him telling him to abandon a land he has on a platter of gold to buy from a nearby community,(I feel that was what made him start the building behind my back) I wouldn't mind if he was not so attached to mama ( his mom is Ill with a terminal disease) so I try to understand why he wants to see her all the time, but I fear is that he may go back to his being a mama's boy wen he moves since mom would be always around.. And I need my privacy |
Dygeasy: The annoying thing is how people begin to tell their partners things they don't like or expect changes after getting engaged. Do you guys just date for one month and propose? I don't get it.This is our 5th year in the Relationship, he proposed last year, and yes when we started dating he was a mama's boy cos he just finished nysc and was still living with his parents so he was and is still really attached to his mom, b4 he moved out when he got a job but over the years he has changed, but right from time I had told him that we should get a land somewhere else to build and I believe in second chances because I am not perfect either I forgive easily and move on. My fear is the fact that if we move back close to his parents he may go back to being his old self. I just feel it would be a little selfish on my part to tell him to abandon the land he has just because I am scared of staying close to his parents and go and buy a brand new land. Thanks for your contribution ![]() |
I am engaged to be married by December this year, my traditional marriage was supposed to be this month but my man shifted it, and said he was broke that he would be able to gather the money for the rites by November, when I met him I knew his salary amount and recently, he was promoted so his salary was increased by almost a 100percent . So I was surprised that before the month runs out he would complain of being broke.. Last week during my off day from work, I went to his village to visit his parents I noticed that he has started building a new house on his land that was meant to be our site for the building of our house in the village. We had planned together on having our own home all along, I felt so heartbroken that he kept it a secret from me. This is not the first time he is acting this way,we may be together now and he would tell me he is on his way to work and I won't know that he may travel to Lagos that same day and come back and I would never know. And eventually when I find out he would beg me that he is sorry dat he wanted to surprise me! That's also what he told me when I asked him why he was building behind my back. For a big project such as building a house? Pls nairalanders, I need your opinions on this because right from the onset,I told him that I am not so comfortable with the location of that land it is a family land and his parents live there it is just divided with a fence, so I told him we can build there later on since it is his village but we should get a land in town and build there first because I would want privacy, although he is a wonderful guy, he is a mama's boy so I just feel he would lay down all my business to his parents wen we have misunderstandings as he has done most of the time in the past,I feel he hid his building project from me because he feels I am against it. And honestly I won't want to live there especially as newly weds.by right i am meant to encourage him on embarking on a project but the thought of living there after the wedding scares me and he is rushing it. we planned a 3 bedroom bungalow(but his mom told me that he is building a one bedroom BQ first so that we can move in there) but that was not what both of us agreed upon. I feel so sad about this. |
Op dear let her go asap, because she would continue even when she gets married. I know lots of women dat were runs girls then now married and still does it till now even after having children.and please I want to plead with u guys, investigate properly the source of ur girlfriends belongings. I mean u see a student her parents barely gives her up to 20k allowance for the month but she uses very expensive phones, she has the latest clothes, hair and all that. My classmate then in school was dating one old married man for years and she had a very cosy apartment, got a car and lied to her fiance dat her father bought it for her and d man rushed and married her without doing his homework now I see him driving d car and d girl is still seeing dat her sugar daddy but portrays d I love my hubby and jah bless my home ish on BB. Most times they have a small business and use it as a camouflage to trick d guy that dats where they get money to get all dey need meanwhile their full time job is runs. investigate properly. There are many good and decent christain girls out there.I rest my case! |
bellong: You think there are no spiritualists or juju loving people in the USA?. The guy is a full blown nigerian forming american citizen he even used pidgin english sef 'abeg' |
I grew up in a very abusive home, my father had a very violent temper and constantly beats my mom with anything within his reach. 4 days to her delivery he beat her up mercilessly 2 days after her delivery her beat her up my mom had to run for her life and she left our new born brother @ home hungry for dat day he cried till he was tired and my mom just had to come back for her baby. The beatings never stopped, the neigbours always come to our house @ least once a week to seperate the fights or rather hold down my dad from beating my mom.wen I and my siblings grew up ie to second school level my bros was now our body guard, wen my dad wants to beat my mom he wld sheild her cos my bros was tall, my dad started using weapons like knives, shovel or cutlass to chase us or even hit us with my mom's heeled shoes( he is an engineer and well learned and exposed) so people keep wondering why he behaves like a mad man and we were not excluded from d severe beatings ooo! My dad use to kick me match my stomach till I moved out and sis got married! Fastfoward till now my mom is almost a grandma we are all out of the house, yet my dad still beats her till now. THE LESSONS I HAVE LEARNT IS THIS: An abusive spouse wld never change( my mothere said she never saw any sign of violence for d 2yrs they dated he kept it well hidding till a week after their wedding he beat her up) and it never stopped! With continuious exposure of violence your kid may likely behave like him and wld learn his beating attitude,(my younger bros despite the fact that he was our defender then, nowthat he is a grown man he has a violent temper and I heard he beat his girlfriend. My advice is LEAVE the MARRIAGE it is not worth it. My mom keeps saying the high BP she has was a result of my dad as she was always living in fear! My 2cents! |

You are very dumb! KwoiZabo: why shld Amaechi recruit 13000 teachers at once? Don't the Schools have teachers before or what? even if, couldn't he have done it in batches? secondly, why should he make all of them come to one place to collect their letters? it means that some of them might have travelled from distant LGAs to collect these letters; It is either Amaechi is not wise enough to know that he should take these letters to their various LGs or he wants to make a show or cause a scene with the crowd. Thirdly, he has been in office for six and half yrs he did not recruit these teachers he is only doing it now to score cheap popularity and increase recurrent expenditure for the coming Administration in the state. SMH we are not kids. |
marleymcintosh: She was the cute chic on industrial attachment while i was the new guy fresh from training school. Then, people started calling us husband and wife so i brought their teases to reality by capturing her. Soon i got tired of the steady weekend straffing and office smooching and wanted out because she was acting too desperately...like a fiancee. We stopped talking in a matter of months.grow up! ![]() |

The one that happend at ph last year happened at night,a tanker driver lost control and most people were roasted while sleepin. Night movement is also a bad idea! |
@ Op I understand your plight! I have seen this first hand. My mother is a typical example of one.eversince I have known her she has never apologised to my dad if she is wrong . their marriage is 30yrs now and she hasn't changed. So if u are willing to live with it then it is ur choice cos she may never change. My dad has complained over the years and he has learnt to deal with it. I think it is nothing but pride,my mom is extremely proud dat she can ignore her husband for a year or rather keep malice with him until he apologises to her(even when she is at fault) and she extends it to us her kids she can and has never said I am sorry!u deserve to be happy!. |
