If the strong islamisation allegation from certain quarters is to be properly disabused, the APC should field a christian presidential candidate in 2015.

Nigerians want a change and only APC has the potential to make it happen. GEJ is corruption personified and no one seem to trust Atiku with d destiny of Nigeria. Buhari who has what it takes to steer the ship of d nation in the right economic direction, with an all time clean integrity bill of health, is being taunted with allegation of possible islamisation agenda.

The way out is for APC to feature a christian presidential candidate in 2015 and let buhari support his candidature.

We certainly can get it. as a matter of fact we have a great opportunity in d coming 2015 elections. let all nigerians become sophisticated in their political choices. dont vote based on party, religious or ethnic sentiment. identify and vote 4 candidates with:
1)genuine will to perform and change d lot of nigerians
2)creativity and experience to make positive changes
3)anti-corruption tendencies
4)ability to apply deterrent at all levels
5)ability to utilize good advisers

Politics2015: The Man - Muhammadu Buhari by xtayle(op):
THE MAN - MUHAMMADU BUHARI.

General Buhari was born on December 17, 1942, in the town of Daura in the former Katsina province of the then Northern Nigeria. He went to Primary School in Daura and Mai’adua from 1948 – 1952, before proceeding to Katsina middle School in 1953. He attended the Katsina Provincial Secondary School (now Government College Katsina) from 1956 – 1961. On graduation from Secondary School in 1961, the young Buhari went to the Nigerian Military Training School, Kaduna in 1963. In October of the same year, he was sent to the officers’ Cadet School in Aldershot in the United Kingdom and was thereafter commissioned Second Lieutenant in 1963 and posted to the 2nd Infantry Battalion, Abeokuta as Platoon Commander in 1963. A contemporary of his in Aldershot said he was like “an only pebble in the beach, a star in his calm and calculating disposition.” It was at the Abeokuta Garrison that the real traits of a great soldier were identified in the young man. From 1963 – 1964 he was sent for further training on the Platoon Commanders’ Course at the Nigerian Military College, Kaduna. In 1965, he went for the Mechanical Transport Officers’ Course at the Army Mechanical Transport School in Borden, England. He went to the Defence Services’ Staff College, Wellington, India in 1973 and to the United States Army War College from June 1979 to June 1980. One of his testimonials from the War College referred to Buhari as “a gentleman, a soft-spoken soldier, who preserved the ethics of the profession almost as a Quarter-Master-General. He would touch the tip of his cap in greeting for a lady, would never enter a room with his beret on. Always careful with his language, would smile at every joke and would never do anything to rock the boat” these are some of the credentials of the charming officer and gentleman called Muhammadu Buhari, an independent tribute made to him in far away United States of America more than two decades ago.

This thorough-bred soldier has held several impressive Command and Staff appointments since 1963, including the following:

Platoon Commander, 2nd Infantry Battalion, 1963 – 1964.
Mechanical Transport Officer, Lagos Garrison, 1964 – 1965.
Transport Company Commander, 2nd Infantry Brigade 1965 – 1966;
Battalion Adjutant / Commander, 2nd Infantry Brigade 1966 – 1967;
Brigade Major, 2nd Sector, 1st Infantry Division, April to July 1967;
Brigade Major, 3rd Infantry Brigade, August 1967 – October 1968;
Acting Commander, 4th Sector, 1st Division November 1968 – February 1970;
Commander, 31st Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, February 1970 – June 1971;
Assistant Adjutant-General, 1st Infantry Division Hqrs., July 1971 – Dec. 1972;
Colonel, General Staff, 3rd Infantry Div. Hqrs. Jan. 1974 – Sept. 1974.
Acting Director, Supply and Transport, Nigeria Army Corps of supply and Transport, September 1974 – July 1975;
Military Governor, North Eastern State of Nigeria, August 1975 – March 1976;
Federal Commissioner for Petroleum Resources, March 1976 to June 1978;
Chairman, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, June 1978 – July 1978;
Military Secretary, Army Headquarters July 1978 – June 1979;
Member Supreme Military Council, March 1976 – June 1979;
General Officer Commanding, 4th Infantry Division, Aug. 1980 – Jan. 1981;
General Officer Commanding, 2nd Mechanised Infantry Division, Jan. 1981 – October 1981;
General Officer Commanding 3rd Armed Division Nigerian Army, October 1981 – December 1983.
Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, December 1983 – August 1985.

Indeed General Buhari’s education, training and career have shown him to be an accomplished and exalted soldier who deserves commendation and special recognition, because he has proven to be a man of character, integrity and achievement. A close study of his character shows a permeating integrity. It was during his tenure that the Nigerian National Oil Corporation and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources were reorganised to form the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and he became its first Chairman, a job he performed without blemish. He masterminded and spearheaded the construction of 20 oil depots throughout the country, a project involving over 3200 kilometers of pipelines. Under his leadership both Warri and Kaduna Refineries were built. He drew up the blueprint for the country’s petro-chemical and liquefied natural gas programmes all without even a hint of scandal.

Regarding national issues such as accountability and governance, he proposes the concept of an online budget monitoring and performance system. He has set a target to achieve a real GDP annual growth of 10% and transform the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to a commercial business. A critical point of his manifesto is to make information technology, manufacturing, agriculture and entertainment Nigeria's key economic drivers.

On the global front, Buhari is reported to be well respected. It is on record that he and Nelson Mandela were the only private African individuals invited by the White House to Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony.

When the masses of this country were about to riot over the increase in the price of fuel some few years back, the Government of the day calmed them down with the promise that the accrual from reduction subsidy was going to be put in an account and that General Buhari was to be appointed the people’s trustee to that Fund. The riots were averted. The people were happy that somebody they could trust, somebody with a clean record, a safe pair of hands somebody the nation revered and respected, was going to be in charge.
In recognition of his numerous and enviable contributions towards the development of this country, General Buhari has been conferred with a number of national awards.

He is the recipient of the following:

GCFR Grand Commander of the Federal Republic
CFR Commander of the Federal Republic
DSM Defence Service Medal
NSM National Service Medal
GSM General Service Medal
LSGCM Loyal Service and Good Conduct Medal
FSS Force Service Staff
CD The Congo Medal

Never in the recent history of Nigeria, has a former Head of State, as noiseless, humble and as ready to serve as he has been endeared himself so much to the hearts of the masses. He is neither a defeatist nor a pessimist. He knows himself, he knows Nigerians and he knows how to overcome difficulties and make Nigeria a better place for all.

Therefore, buhari has in his kitty a much more prestigious education and exposure far better than your clue-less, idea-less and unintelligible master who commissioned you to be spewing rubbish over the internet. It is not by accident that he occupied the positions he used to occupy. He was qualified and exposed enough to occupy them
PoliticsRe: Buhari's Accent: Dont Get It Wrong by xtayle(op):
thwarrior72: I have asked this question before and I'm repeating it now....how will buhari who can hardly make intelligible & decipherable sentence in English rule a country of 170+million people, which language will he rule with, is it hausa, arabic or by hand & mouth sign?. Which language will he communicate when representing Nigeria in UN general assembly?. Buharis appalling speech/oratory cannot be attributed to mothers tongue, but a serious impaired speech.
You are very wrong!!! If buhari has impaired speech problem, there is no way he will get to the level he attained in public service. He was a GOC, he once headed the NNPC and built most of the refineries we have today, He was head of State, C in C and also headed the PTF. If its true that he can hardly speak coherently or unable to make meaningful statement, all the interviews he had granted, how were the press able to comprehend him?

Hate is a terrible killer! Many people will contact cancer on this Buhari matter because hate is a breeder of cancer. we were deceived by GEJ that he had no shoes nor bag while going to school. Nigerians thought he would be sensitive to the need of the Nation. But alas.....the moment he got in, HE NO LONGER GIVES A DAMN. He has been tested and failed and people remembered someone who had a little stint and performed and they want to trying him but because of the fear of his anti-corruption tendencies, he is hated.

Nigerians will not submit to cheap blackmail of speech or no speech. Fani Kayode can speak well but hes wanted by the efcc though GEJ is shielding him for political gains. Even if its sign language Buhari can do, we will vote for him. Nigerians will rather be lead by a deaf and dumb that will bring progress than succumb to "i have no shoes" that continues to bleed us dry.
PoliticsRe: Buhari's Accent: Dont Get It Wrong by xtayle(op): 2:41pm On Sep 29, 2014
Ikengawo: Yes.

Buhari can barely speak english. If you think this is the most qualified person that APC can produce than APC needs to assess itself. Someone that has already ruled nigeria, ended democracy, and has no real education will become president in 2014 while anytime a bank announces a job you'll see a line of no less than 3,000 youths that are jobless and unsure of their future with their only crime being that they chose to get an education.
I find your comment incoherent and i will tell you why.

1) Uniformed persons like you like to peddle lies and falsehood because you have been induced to do so or you are simply biased. Buhari never ended democracy. If you do a little more research, you will know that Late General Bako was the master-mind and executioner of the 1983 coup. Himself and his co plotters only called General Buhari and Idiagbon to come and lead because they were Junior officers to them in the Army.

2) Buhari is in no way responsible for 3000 youth queuing up to get a job. Blame it on Babangida who pushed him out and did everything IMF asked Buhari to do but he refused. Go and check the records, Naira was higher than US$ when Buhari was HOS and he esured inflation dropped to o. something% from 25% (thereabout) that he met it.

3) Obasanjo ruled as a General and also as a civilian. How then is it a taboo for Buhari to rule again. Obasanjo ruled for about 3 yrs as Military HOS but Buhari ruled less than 2 years as HOS.

4) What education did obasanjo have that makes him better than Buhari?

What then are you implying? You need to think deep before making comments or respond to a post or comment. This is not a village setting. This is social media.

Infact, when its his class' turn for presentation of prizes, after English language prize, they will start calling his name from mathematics and he can no longer go back to his seat until they complete prize presentation for his class.

The school dont do not attend any quiz competition without this guy yet he speaks English poorly.
PoliticsBuhari's Accent: Dont Get It Wrong by xtayle(op):
As Nigerians and Africans, we need to understand ourselves very well. Certain things are universal and we cannot treat them in isolation. Globally, everyone has a mother tongue which is the language he/she speaks best. Any other language is learned and spoken with the accent of the mother tongue.

For instance "Tola" a yoruba name is pronounced by americans as "Tow-la". Will you say the americans have shameful accent? The answer is NO. Ghanaians pronounce "Love" as "Laav". Do you mock them? No. Every mother tongue comes with an accent and Africans generally exhibit mother tongue with heavy accents. That is why when an Ibo man speaks English, you can easily tell, if a south African speak English, you can also tell. If a Russian speaks English, you will quickly place his origin. Even the Portuguese are quickly discovered when they speak English. Its the same for every race across the globe.

Having said that, its not the accent of a leader that determines whether he will perform or can perform when voted into an office. President Jonathan probably pronounces English word fairly but he is not an interesting speaker of the English language. His expression in English is quite poor. He does not know how to punctuate when reading a written address. If we are to name good speakers of the language among politicians, he cannot be among the first 100. Retd Gen Buhari on the other hand speaks very good English with good punctuations but with heavy accent.

Buhari spent less than 2 years in office as head of state and creatively salvaged the economy that was balkanised by shagari. Jonathan have spent almost 6 years and there is nothing but daylight looting of our commonwealth. It does not have anything to do with your accent but the will and creativity to perform

It is a record low for any Nigerian to mock the accent of a fellow Nigerian.

From Akilani Abdullah, Lagos

A group, Buhari Vanguard has warned President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to stop exploiting the myriads of unemployed youths in the country in carrying through his re-election agenda describing it as ‘a total mockery and disrespect to the unemployed Nigerian youths’.

This was contained in a press statement issued yesterday by the Chairman of the group, Comrade Jasper Azuatalam saying the group has been able to establish beyond reasonable doubt that the President has resorted to taking advantage of the unemployment status of the Nigerian youths.

The group noted that President Jonathan is using unsuspecting and unemployed Nigerians who were being raised for training under the Federal Task Force, a training which aimed at creating work for unemployed Nigerian Youths to endorse his re-election bid at a campaign recently in Lagos.

The statement reads, “President Goodluck Jonathan is now using the plight of the Nigerian youths to carry through his re-election agenda in 2015 by forcing them against their will to attend his campaign rallies. On Saturday, the 20th of September 2014, President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP held a campaign rally at the Tafawa Belewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island, Lagos state were supposed PDP supporters gathered to endorse President Jonathan and show their support for the PDP in the South West.

“It was with great surprise and amazement that we learned that the campaign rally was executed with unsuspecting and unemployed Nigerians who were being raised for training under the Federal Task Force, a program they claim is being organized by SURE-P and FERMA to create work for unemployed Nigerian Youths.

“The youths under the training program were compelled to attend the PDP and President Jonathans campaign rally with the promise that they will be given jobs and that those who did not attend will not be given any job at the end of the training. Thousands of these youths were transported from their camp in Badagry area and Ojota, all in Lagos State Nigeria.

“Those who watched or attended the campaign rally can confirm that thousands of youths were seen putting on white top and black trousers while many others were seen putting on a black top on a black trousers. Those in white top are the recent recruits under the Federal Task force while those in black top were recruited under FERCSARA.

“We have proven that the said youth constituted over 60% of the attendees at the rally and that these youths were being tricked to attend the said rally. We consider this activity as a total mockery and disrespect to the myriad of unemployed Nigeria youths.” It said.

The group who condemned the action however, urged President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP to stop the act.

“We shall continue to monitor the activities of the PDP led government and defend the Nigerian youths from being exploited and compelled to supporting a political party and presidential candidate against their will” the statement said.
