BusinessRe: Is Gtbank Really The Best Bank In Nigeria by xtayle(m): 1:10pm On Nov 19, 2013
balogunsam: First, i love GTB but I'm moving. I am a young entrepreneur and i strolled into a gtb branch we av been using for over six years to ask if we can get an overdraft or loan or a form of service to enable us have 1.5m to attend to an urgent need. The account officer told me NO. He said gtn only issues a minimum of 10 million naira to corporate account holders and anything short is a NO. He then went ahead to explain how they are working on a way to be more helpful to their small corporate account holders... By small i mean having a monthly transaction of over 4m ooo. I asked what services they have for SME and he said their own SME must be grossing around 50million!!i went to uba, first bank and especially diamond bank and i can say if we had kept our account at either of those three most especially diamond in the last five years, the bank would have helped our business grow beyond this point.
So GTB is a good bank but i believe they have accrued so much wealth and client base that they don't care anymore about you if ur not with a strong capital base... IMO....
U re very accurate.
BusinessRe: Is Gtbank Really The Best Bank In Nigeria by xtayle(m):
Uzilla: Most times banks are filled up with customers that can afford not being in the banking hall in the first place. ATM cards, FastTrack and Internet Banking are better alternatives. Unless u r clearing a cheque, raising a draft or making an enquiry, I think it's better to always work with the alternatives. Having said that, I cant really tell which is the best bank, but I dont think I can feel as much comfortable with any other bank, as i am with GTB.
Its either u are a staff or u hv been brain-washed by GTB. Fast track means I hv to pay GTB for their inefficiency so that I can cash my money on time. GTB is d worst bank I hv ever used.

1) I opened a company account with d bank and they debited my account twice for search. I complained and wrote but they never refunded my money since 2008.

2) They can only help u transfer dollar, pounds and euro. If u need to credit a swiss account with swiss francs, they are lost. But Skye Bank does it for me seamlessly.

3) No matter how much u try, u can't secure a merited loan or overdraft and they don't care how u feel. Meanwhile First bank will be pursuing u wid credit facility.

Summary:

GTB is over-hyped. Its an unfriendly and uncaring bank
Christianity EtcRe: Femi Aribisala And His War Against Apostle Paul - Christians ONLY by xtayle(m): 12:39pm On Nov 15, 2013
Aribisala is simply confused. He needs the holy ghost to help him. With the holy spirit, there is neither ambiguity nor confusion on all that Paul the Apostle wrote or said.

But of course its spiritual and that makes it foolishness to the natural man. They have to be spiritually discerned for them to make sense. Aribisala also disagree that he cannot accept illogical reasoning just because he wants to be spiritual. But if something can be reasoned logically, then it no longer spiritual. An angel will access a secured prison and all gates flung opened by themselves and all fetter broken without any physical force. Is that logical?

God will have mercy on Aribisala and others like him.

BusinessFinancing Biz Opportunities - Angel Investors by xtayle(op): 6:37am On Aug 29, 2013
Business Opportunities sometimes comes but are lost for lack of requisite funding to actualize them. While this is the reality, it shouldn't be becos some people have small/medium/huge funds and looking for what to do with it. Let's use this thread as a meeting place for those with different kind of opportunities and those with capacity to finance them.

However, as the proponent, I do not wish to be involved in negotiation between any agreed parties. I have only observed that a lot of opportunities are being lost on a daily basis because the Banks are cumbersome lenders whose funds are not easily accessible. Even when they grant facilities/loans, they still give you conditions that you need to raise 10% of the amount approved. Often times biz people don't have it which means you still need help.

Also, finance houses are becoming more and more difficult to deal with. We just can't sit back and do nothing. Whichever class u fall into, biz opportunity/idea or financier, just contact each other, discuss and reach a proper written agreement. Involve your lawyers if necessary.

Warren Buffet started his business empire by calling a meeting in his home of those who has money and want to invest but no opportunity/idea. Today, his organization called Berkshire Hathaway is a global phenomena.

This is to successful dealings........

Mimiko is heartless and that's y he's looking for more money at the detriment of Ondo workers calling them ghosts after he's already looted the state dry.

Mimiko is money hungry and you have not even seen anything yet! Mimiko will still give you more KOBOKO. Of course, you have handed him his second term and he does not need you again.

SunNews: N19.5bn Aviation fund: Count me out – Fani-Kayode
By BEIFOH OSEWELE and NDUBUISI ORJI
Friday, July 10, 2009

http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2009/july/10/national-10-07-2009-02.htm

Embattled erstwhile minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has said his present trial at a Federal High Court is completely unconnected with the contentious N19.5 billion Aviation Intervention Fund.

Reacting through an aide yesterday, the former special assistant to immediate past president Olusegun Obasanjo also denied that any money from the fund got missing, misappropriated or squandered during his tour of duty at the aviation ministry.

Fani-Kayode and his predecessor in office, Prof. Babalola Borisade are standing trial for allegedly misappropriating the fund which was created by the Obasanjo administration in the wake of the plane crashes that dogged the nation’s airspace in 2005.

Rising from the Federal Extensive Council meeting on Wednesday, incumbent Aviation Minister, Babatunde Omotoba, said he met only N3.5 billion of the fund without any trace of how the N16 billion was spent.
“The total amount of money allocated for the special aviation fund was N19.5 billion out f this, the Federal Government contributed N13 billion while the remaining sum of N6.5 billion was borrowed… I inherited N3.5 billion out of that amount,” the minister said.
But an aide to the former Aviation minister, who preferred anonymity put the lie to any suggestion that Fani-Kayode is being prosecuted in connection with funds that were purportedly missing from the N19.5 billion aviation intervention fund.

“That is not true,” the aide said, adding that “While we will not talk about a matter that is subjudice, we wish to set the record straight. The fact of the matter is that Chief Fani-Kayode’s trial has absolutely nothing to do with the N19.5 billion Aviation Intervention Fund and neither did one kobo of that fund got missing or was misappropriated or squandered under his watch.

“For the record, before he became minister of Aviation in November 2006, N8.5 billion of the fund had already been spent by his predecessor in office and there was nothing left in the intervention fund account.”
The source said following this development, President Obasanjo then released the balance of N11 billion to Chief Fani-Kayode out of which, Chief Fani-Kayode spent N3.8 billion on three major contracts, including the new Port Harcourt runway and the second Lagos runway and he left a whopping N7.2 billion in the intervention fund account when he left office in May 2007.
“We have all the banks statements and documents to prove these assertions and they can be made available to you,” the aide said.

It described as completely unfair and unacceptable for anybody or newspaper to suggest that “Fani-Kayode’s trial is in connection with the intervention fund when it is not.”
According to the aide, nowhere in the proceeding has the intervention fund been even mentioned.
“It was in July 2008 that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged chief to an Abuja Magistrate Court in respect of matters touching and concerning the Aviation Intervention Fund but those charges were withdrawn from court by the EFFCC themselves for lack of evidence about two months later (September 2008) and the matter died there,” it said.
“The present trial at the Federal High Court is completely unconnected to the aviation intervention fund.”

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigeria Immigration Service Recruiting For 2013/2014 - How True? by xtayle(op): 9:15am On May 27, 2013
online: AS part of initiative to curb job racketeering, the Federal Government has launched an official web portal for use in recruitment into the Ministry of Interior and its paramilitary agencies.

Minister of Interior, Mr Abba Moro, who made this known at an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja, at the weekend, gave the new e-recruitment portal as CDFIPB.gov.org.

Moro had suspended all recruitment exercises into the Interior Ministry, following allegations of job racketeering rocking the agencies under it.

He said the web portal was established by the ministry, in order to harmonise all recruitments into the paramilitary services under Ministry of Interior.

The paramilitary agencies are the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Fire Service, the Nigerian Immigration Service and the Nigerian Prisons Service.

He said henceforth, all recruitments into these agencies would be done through the web portal and advised Nigerians to disregard any other website established by syndicates for the purpose of defrauding job seekers.

Moro said: “The e-recruitment portal is an innovation that has been introduced by the Ministry of Interior to ensure the harmonisation of all recruitments into the paramilitary services, in order to enthrone credibility and transparency in the process of recruitment.

“Henceforth, all recruitments by the board will be conducted through this platform. Individuals are, therefore, advised to disregard any other medium or platform, as the Ministry of Interior will not be held accountable,” he said.

Moro, who also spoke on the commemoration of the nation’s Democracy Day coming up on Wednesday, said democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.

He said from 1999 till date represented the glorious days in the life of Nigeria as the country has witnessed uninterrupted civilian governance.

He said this was attested by the success recorded in general elections without major issues that could have truncated the nation’s nascent democracy.

According to him, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government had taken deliberate steps and structures, as well as policies put in place to address the problem of neglect of the nation’s infrastructures.

Describing the celebration of the Democracy Day as a milestone, the minister said the current administration was determined to strengthen its democratic culture as foundation for good governance.

He said assured that the country would conduct a transparent, credible, fair and acceptable elections in 2015 and years ahead.
