The Labour Party has declared that the endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential candidate by the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and other members of the Northern Leaders Consultative Forum was purchased.


DAILY POST recalls that a splinter group of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Northern part of the country led by Dogara had on Friday announced the endorsement of the former vice president as their preferred presidential candidate for the forthcoming February elections.

Dogara and some Northern Christians had fallen out with the ruling party following its choice of a vice presidential candidate.

He challenged Dogara and other members of the group who endorsed Atiku to asses the opinion of the common Northerners, stressing that the majority of the people had opted for the former governor of Anambra State.

He said, “I make bold to say that the population in the north, particularly the Christians have unequivocally made their endorsement, and they said they will be voting for Peter Obi, not the purchased endorsement that the Northern Leaders Consultative Forum has just granted.”

Since the dounce mentioned Peter Obi, and, Atiku as paying the media house to defame him, Atiku & Obi should sue him as well, for defamation as well.

The same people who are some if the greatest beneficiaries of Tinubu's vision are now his greatest critics. It was the same thing they did to Awolowo. These people came from the South East to enjoy Awolowo's free education policy in the early 80s but hated him so much.

I think the best thing is for Nigeria to adopt true federalism with a certain percentage of jobs reserved for people in that region. Lets see how some people will survive if they had to go back to their region.

Bandits have invaded the Afaka barracks of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, killing a naval officer....

Bandits have invaded the Afaka barracks of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, killing a naval officer.

The bandits were also said to have also kidnapped two majors but Daily Trust cannot independently verify this.

The bandits, who reportedly attacked the barracks around 1am on Tuesday, are said to still be inside the academy.

A reliable source within the barracks told our correspondent that security has been beefed up within and around the barracks to stop the bandits from escaping with the officers.

“It was a terrible experience, the bandits took advantage of the time when most people had gone to bed to attack the barracks.”

“Right now, the whole barracks is under lock and key and security has been beefed up so that the bandits would not leave the barracks… it is believed that they are still within,” the source said.

One of the officers who was injured in the attack is currently being treated at a hospital within the barracks.

The source said there are, however, fears that the bandits may decide to kill the officers in a bid to escape.

The Academy Public Relations Officer, Major Bashir Jajira, did not respond to calls.
