NIGERIA DROPS IN LATEST FIFA RANKING The April edition of the FIFA World Ranking is out and it has brought movement to the top ten in world football. However, the Super Eagles of Nigeriia have dropped one spot in the ranking from 30th -31st. The African champions remain 4th on the continent behind Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana and Mali. Although the leading trio of Spain, Germany and Argentina remain unchanged on top of the table, they are now being pursued by Croatia, who have climbed five places to fourth thanks to FIFA World Cup™ qualifying wins against Serbia and Wales, equalling the position achieved when they finished third at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France. Meanwhile England (7th, down 3), Italy (8th, down 3) and the Netherlands (9th, down 1) have all lost ground on the leaders. Meanwhile, Ecuador (10th, up 1) have overtaken Russia (11th, down 1) and entered the top ten for the first time thanks to wins against El Salvador and Paraguay. In the top 50, Peru (32nd, up 9), Ukraine (37th, up 11), Albania (48th, up 16) and Wales (49th, up 22) have all made excellent progress, while outside the top 50, Equatorial Guinea (59th, up 45), Congo (77th, up 24), Tajikistan (112th, up 40) and Kyrgyzstan (142nd, up 59) have each climbed more than 20 places. In addition to Ecuador, Venezuela (36th, up 7), Panama (38th, up 3) , Albania, Equatorial Guinea, Tajikistan and Afghanistan (139th, up 2) have all achieved their highest-ever ranking. A total of 120 “A” international matches have been taken into account for the April edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, the majority of them qualification matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ (83 matches) and for the AFC Challenge Cup (20 matches), the remaining 17 matches being friendlies. The total number of matches taken into account so far this year is 275. The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on 9 May 2013. jas_o: It is Mobile Telecommunication Network. Those fools who derive fun in spoiling the company name should desist or go and die. This is why you people don't grow. The logical reasoning that should have been imployed to make your point known will be burry for illogical and brainless unterances of yours. Either you like it or not, the system has tremendiously impacted possitively in Nigeria. It gave you employment. procuce star through project fame; these are people who had no hope in making it through their naturally gifted tallent because their Govt. have betrayed them. but with the company and the rest tellecomunication comapanies hope was revived. Rossikk: You need to use your brain and be less agreeable to just anybody's claims on the internet.
Let me give you an example:
Nigeria manufactures cars, buses, trucks, suvs (Innoson). Manufactures complete motorcycles, including principal component parts and engines (Qinggi). Manufactures computers, tablets and accessories (Zinox). Today the world's first and only black built satellite, NigerSat 2 sits in outer space, an achievement of Nigerian scientists. The Nigerian Navy now builds seaworthy vessels from scratch, with 100% local input, like NNS Andoni, a 31m Seaward Defence Boat. The Nigerian Defence Industries builds mortars and RPG launchers, armoured personnel carriers, and manufactures their own bullet proof vests. Nigeria has three functional nuclear reactors. Nigeria manufactures and fabricates aluminium. Manufactures chemicals, including agro-chemicals. Manufactures paint. Manufactures drugs for the pharmaceutical industry. Nigeria processes solid minerals like Calcium Carbonate, Dolomite, and Limestone. I could go on and on and on..
Now, there are many countries that are NOT on that list of ''those lagging behind'', who cannot boast of 1/5 of the achievements I've just outlined.
WHY THEN SHOULD WE ACCEPT THE LIST?
When even YOU don't know what is produced in Nigeria, how will some foreign group not wake up and include Nigeria on any stupid list? They know you don't read or research. That's what gives them the audacity.
I mean, just because CNN and co choose to IGNORE all scientific strides made in Nigeria (afterall is Boko Haram not the only worthy news item?) does not mean WE in Nigeria will pretend we are standing still. may d lord bless u |

Rossikk: What amazes me is the way people simply accept whatever these fly-by-night, mom and pop foreign organizations announce in their 'newsletters'.
What was their methodology for the research?
Nobody asks.
Who are they?
Nobody asks.
How much research expertise and experience do they have to conduct such a far-reaching, complex global survey?
Nobody asks.
What was their research budget for surveying hundreds of countries' level of scientific development?
Nobody asks.
Who is funding them and why?
Nobody asks.
Oyibo has declared. So God himself has spoken. No need to question.

StateOfMind: I also wonder how the lecturer is at fault here o. I was really pissed when heard the story yesterday. That school is one of the worst state universities in nigeria at the moment with very little facilities and lazy lecturers. Their academic calender has k-leg and yet all they could think of is rioting and disrupting the already distorted academic calender.
