I have a toyota avalon 1997 model. my issue is, the gear shift just wont move from the parking position in all cases in the morning even when the brake pedal is depressed. I have to allow the RPM to be at 1 position or warm the car for say 2 minutes before it shift. once that happens in the morning or the car is left for hours the problem is repeated otherwise it shift normally.

Am encountering this issue for the first time in all models of auto i have used for years. what could be the reason? Thax for your input.

Hello auto gurus in the house. I have a toyota avalon 1997 model and just yesday had its rear shocks replaced by my mech. Beause am auto tech knowledgeable, i made sure he carried out the exact loosening n tightening of every bolt he looses.

The old shocks where removed with care and 'tokumbo' replaced immeditly. The ABS sensor wire was never touched during the process. but as soon as i drive the car i noticed the ABS light on the dash board comes on permanent. The TRAC lights too keeps blinking. I thought it might go off after a while.

Can someone help me resolve this matter as i never had issues with my ABS system. thx

@op, did u said u noticed hot air coming out from the ac vent? If dats true, i suspected an internal leakage of the hot air evapourator located inside ur car dash board.

Sometimes when the evapourator gets roasted, u wont get to notice water leakage from any part of ur engine trunk.
