IGBO-SON:My brother ,why must we always say NEVER? Why can’t we follow the principles of NEVER SAY NEVER. We have to try brother, i know it seems impossible but it is not. If Obama can become the President of America what is stopping us from electing genuine leaders? You know the first problem we have to deal with in Nigeria is Tribalistic politics! It is because of Tribalism that i as a Yoruba man and you as an Igbo man may not want to agree on issues that will bring benefit to both of us. This is our achilles heel. Our leaders right from 1960 have collectively divided us with the ideology of tribalism and religion. Just take a look at nairaland, many of the Yoruba and Igbos who are always fighting were not even born during the civil war. Yet they keep the flag of tribalistic hate flying, Why is this so? Look at Isreal and Germany today? They were once enemies but today their youths are working together on several project and they have progressed together. We the youths need to learn from the mistakes of the past but should not dwell on it too much. I see no reason why Igbos ,Yorubas and Hausa should hate each other? I also find the clamour for Igbo president to be ridiculous. I don’t care where the next President comes from, if Igbos want one of their tribes men to be President ,they should present a honest candidate with no baggage not a recycled politician. They can’t present Ifeanyi Ubah and expect intelligent Nigerians to support him, they can’t present Nzeribe and expect Nigerians to support him. They should look for someone young and NEW in their community ,a genuine son of the soil with no baggage, no skeleton and no history of corruption and present him for candidacy. The same goes for Yoruba and Hausa. Nigerians should start looking for substance instead of Tribal affiliations. I am not a Buhari supporter neither am I a Jonathan Supporter. I am not a ACN ,CPC or PDP supporter. The only man that I ever found to be a 80% credible leader in Nigeria is Professor Pat Utomi but unfortunately Nigerians will never let a good man like him become president. Instead we will vote for this Jonathan who has done absolutely nothing to alleviate the poor of Nigeria. It is in our Nature as Nigerians to choose the worst among us to lead us. |
ngozievergreen: ^^^ @ Yeboyes, who r u talking to? All u GEJ oppositionists dat fuelled terrorism into his administration n still expect world class cities from him, So dat d terrorists wl bomb the kind cities shey? Go and sit down biko.As usual when honest people like me speak the truth ,you will find people like ngozievergreen who are enemies of true progress attacking me.These are the enemies of Nigeria. |
IGBO-SON:That is what you get when they award contracts to relative who are neither intelligent or qualified to handle such projects. |
Furthermore the so called Power Generation problems Nigeria has been having is not so difficult to solve. The problem once again is unintelligent and uncaring leaders like Jonathan. If i were the president of Nigeria i would have utilized all the water resources we have in Nigeria to generate power. The bissest Dam in the world is the Three Goerges Dam in china which is similar in size to river Niger. What has the Nigerian Governemnt not considered damming the River Niger. Allow me to elborate : Three George Dam Generating capacity : 22500 MW Type of dam : Gravity dam Height : 181 m (594 ft) Length : 2,335 m (7,661 ft) Crest width : 40 m (131 ft) Base width : 115 m (377 ft) Spillway capacity : 116,000 m3/s (4,100,000 cu ft/s) Purpose : Hydroelectrical Power, flood control, navigation Status : Operational Construction began : December 14, 1994 Opening date : 2008 Construction cost : $26 billion Capacity : 39.3 km3 (31,900,000 acre·ft) Catchment area : 1,000,000 km2 (390,000 sq mi) Surface area : 1,045 km2 (403 sq mi) Normal elevation : 175 m (574 ft) Reservoir length : 600 km (370 mi) Max. reservoir width: 1.1 km (0.68 mi) avg Commission date :2003–2012 Type :Conventional Hydraulic head Rated: 80.6 m (264 ft) Maximum :113 m (371 ft)[1] Turbines :32 × 700 MW,2 × 50 MW Francis-type Installed capacity :22.5 GW Capacity factor :0.45 Annual generation :80 TWh (290 PJ) Net generation :556 TWh (2,000 PJ) (2012) https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/ab/ThreeGorgesDam-China2009.jpg/800px-ThreeGorgesDam-China2009.jpg https://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2011/05/20/world/20gorges_337_span/20gorges-articleLarge.jpg https://www.discoveryangtze.com/yangtze_album/photo/three_gorges_dam.JPG https://www.yangtzeriver.org/image/map/three-gorges-dam-map.jpg https://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41665000/gif/_41665118_3_gorges_dam_416.gif https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/ab/ThreeGorgesDam-China2009.jpg/800px-ThreeGorgesDam-China2009.jpg As you can see from the above the Chinese do not pay lip service to power generation ,they just do it.The base of the River Niger can easily accommodate a dam the same size or even bigger than the three Georges dam but our Government is not interested in long term solutions. Instead they had registering IPP who are building micro power some which generate less than 50MW. The Jonathan Administration will not solve Nigeria’s power problems because they do not have a clue how to solve it. They opted for small scale solutions which are also short time solutions instead of looking at the geography of Nigeria and detecting areas where long term solutions can be planted to serve Nigeria into the next 30 years at least. The good thing about the design of the three George dam is that it has a shiplift which will allow container ships to go up and down the river with relative ease and without disturbing the dam. The River at it is base is close to 1.8 km wide and the three Georges dam is just 1.1 km long. This proves that the Three Georges dam or something bigger can be replicated on the river Niger and with today improved technology up to 37000 MW can be generated form just that single dam. Such a project will easily light up Nigeria and give room for Government planners to start planning future power project without any pressure on them. I even believe that three dams can be construction on the river Niger. A Dam could each be constructed on the Kwara side of the river ,the Benue Side of the River and the Imo side of the river at the base. This will increase power generation to over 50,000MW. If the Jonathan Government was clued they could put aside $15 Billion from Oil revenue every years to pay for this projct without borrowing. Besides we have foreign reserves ,we could use our current foreign reserves to pay for this project. If Nigeria is fully lit up our economy will increase to over $1 Trillion in just 5 years. With a population of a 170 million and a fully electrified country there is no stopping us ,we will become a first world country in a matter of 30years. If only Nigeria can get a visionary and honest leader like me ,if only! PS i am not a graduate ,i am a university drop out but i am way more intelligent and clued up than most of these professor we keep appointing as ministers and electing as Presidents. |
The sad thing about Nigeria is that when this so called projects takes place , presidents and Governors are always laying foundation and smiling for the camera but nothing gets done. To make matters worse when they build these so called airports they award the contracts to incompetent people and what you get is a poorly designed, poorly built monstrosity that looks like a mosque or a very ugly warehouse. I wonder why there are no pictures to show us what the new RE-CONSTRUCTED Airport looks like. Reminds me of a ss Governor who awarded himself a N7billion contract to construct a non-existent runway. In other countries they build airports without any politicians laying any foundation or commissioning anything. They just do it with no long stories or excessive fanfare. Look at China, they built close t0 10 brand new cities without making any noise .Google zhendong New District or Ordos city just to name a few. These project were undertaken with highest level of dedication ever witnessed in human history. Zhengdong New district alone cost $19 billion. Jonathan on the other hand stole over $30 billion from our foreign reserves in 3 years and has nothing to show for it. Our Government makes over $52 billion every year from our Oil benefits yet we do not have world class cities ,reliable health facilities ,land lines, decent schools, budget housing or world class infrastructure, all we have is dumb politicians like Jonathan who just talk and talk. If i were president i would have built at least 3 new cities since Jonathan became president and provided genuine budget housing for the masses. One of the easiest ways to grow an economy is by building new infrastructure and providing cheap housing. How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Hospitals? How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Roads? How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Schools? How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Coal Power Plant? How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world Dams? How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Nuclear Power Plants? How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Solar Power Plants? How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Airports? How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Universities? How can all the above be when we make more than $50 billion yearly. It is not hard at ALL, It is as simple as ABC if our President wants to do it but he is does not "give a damn" This same man awarded his stupid wife N4 billion to build a silly building that has no benefit for Nigerians. Do you know how many budget homes N4 billion Niara can build for Nigerians ![]() We can chose to defend our slave master or choose to do away with them. We have the money to be grate but we lack great leaders. Let me show you what $19 billion of the $50 billion dollars Jonathan and his cronies till every years can do for you my people if you elect the right leaders : Zhengdong New District Cost $19 Billlion Duraction of Contruction : 4 Years Total Population Capacity : 5 Million People Current Population : 2.5 Million https://images.china.cn/attachement/jpg/site1007/20121101/00114320db4111fc231c30.jpg https://www.chinadaily.com.cn/regional/attachement/jpg/site1/20100601/0013729e42ea0d6ec75e29.jpg https://english.cri.cn/mmsource/images/2009/05/26/16690525zhengdong05.jpg https://english.cri.cn/mmsource/images/2011/04/10/7ec4702304ad44b9bd7b764acb640f5a.jpg https://static1.businessinsider.com/image/4d07c5f0ccd1d50155290000-900/like-ordos-zhengzhou-new-district-has-glamorous-public-buildings.jpg https://english.cri.cn/mmsource/images/2011/04/10/c2e4bfc75e1e4c3da7653d33f08fafc0.jpg Now imagine if for the next 3 years Jonathan put aside $19 billion a year to build one city each. In 3 years Lagos Population would have been reduced as these people will flock to the new cities to inhabit it. The $19 billion dollar city can house 5 million people that mean that if Jonathan chooses to build 3 new cities he would have provided a place of abode for another 15 million people. This will also reduce the outrageous price of land in areas like Lagos and Abuja as people will have better alternatives. The fact is that Jonathan does not care about you ,he only care about himself, he has done NOTHING so far to show that he cares about the poor or the average Nigerian. SHOW ME ONE THING HE HAS DONE THAT POOR NIGERIANS HAVE BENEFITED FROM. If you cannot show me one thing this man has done for poor Nigerians surely he has failed and should never be given a chance to return in 2015.Let us be honest with ourselves. At the end of the day , the only person you can trust is yourself. Put aside petty tribalism Hausa here, Biafra this ,Odua that or Muslim this ,Christian that. Think as an individual , as a Nigerian ,what has PDP done for you? |
@CAMNEWTON4PRES: It is sad that you came into this thread and try to swing your dxck in our faces.I do not like to get into this country vs country argument but you asked for it. First off there is nothing special about cameroon. When the name Cameroon is mentioned ,i just go blank as nothing comes to mind. That is how irrelevant your country is to most people on GOD's green earth. If your country was so good how come your athletes ran away from their camps during the Olympics and tried to stay in the Uk illegally.Dude don't throw stones in a glass house. You need to travel and and stop thinking your village country is heaven. What is Cameroon known for beyond soccer? Have you produced any Nobel Laureates? Have you produced any notable inventors? Which wars have you been involved in that you actively won? Do you have any indigenous and unique industries? Do you have a globally recognized indigenous cuisine? Do you have a rich and diverse political history? Are you are a power player in Africa? Do your leaders have any clout in the international stage? What has any of your citizens ever done to contribute to the advancement of mankind? What is the highest award any of your citizens have ever received? Who knows you ? How have you impact Africa? Dude your population is equal to that of Lagos state only and your GDP is $25billion so how are you a giant of any sort? When the name Cameroon is mentioned, nothing come to mind. You are not relevant. The only country in west Africa that can breathe near Nigeria is Ghana so wait in line. If you want to give constructive criticism to Nigerians do so but if you want to brag to us that Cameroon is this or that, you will be verbally cut down. With all the history you have written about how "dominant" your leaders are how come your country is not an Utopia. How come your brothers are still lining up in their thousand at embassies trying to get the hell out of your wonderful Cameroon. How come your sportsmen don't want to go back home? How come i still see 100s of your brothers being arrested in my country of residence for wash wash and other crimes. You are talking about what you have done in Bakassi, please show us the roads ,schools ,hospitals ,train tracks,Airports and refineries you have built in Bakassi! |
@OP your question should have read : Rita Dominic Is one of the MOST Stylish Among All NIGERIAN Actresses. Your assertion that she is African most stylish betrays the fact that you know very little about African actresses.FYI there nollywood actresses who are pretty much talentless and there real African actresses who went to acting school and can act. Rita is just another Ngbeke feeling funky. She is talentless and over hyped. Her style of acting is more suitable for sleezy low budget porn movies.Level pass level,no be beans. This local champion is only regarded as a good actress by Nigerians wey no soji. |
I wish i did not have to say this but i just can't hold my self. I mean daaaayyyyuuuumm Omo Wiz na so you blind reach,i know sey you no fine but you for try now With all the star power wey you get na this wowo chick you chuck and give belle . Chai dixk miss road!Anyways enough of my "badmouthing",hope the kid becomes handsome as he grows up ![]() |
Yet the senate Approved and paid N9 billion to build a new unnecessary house for the useless vice President. FRESH AIR |
I used to be an ACN supporter but i have since seen their true colors. These clowns won't fare better than PDP! I fully support Jonathan on this move and i wish him the best.I have been very harsh on Jonathan since he became President but because of this bold move he made i am ready to cut him some slack. Lai should STFU! |
jujukemist: yeboyes and firetrap kudos to you guys. Am impressedSorry to hear about your plight. The Nigerian Military needs guys like you to help them have an edge over their foes but as usual the leaders always mess things up.I really feel pity for our military personnel because our Government can do better for them.I have however seen some positive changes though.I think maybe some personnel are beginning to speak up and the leaders are taking note that they need to do more and encourage our guys.We can only hope that our leader will serach their conscience and do more to protect our men and women in the armed forces |
firetrap: Yeah the air force quick response group (QRG) and also Navy Special Boat Service (SBS) and the SSS weild tavors. I can't go a day without visiting beegeagles blog. I'm there like 10 or more times a dayCheck out this video of the AK 12,they have corrected the accuracy problems of the old AK. Sweeet! I bet the Americans are angry ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRSYOIS0wOs |
firetrap: Gun crazy u say, I'm gun nuts and can't wait for it to be legalized in Nigeria. People at your gun range may also not have much experience with it. Its not a very common weapon. It was mainly designed after the shotgun version of the AK which is the Saiga 12Do you think they will ever legalize it in Nigeria? I wish they would because our people need to learn self defense so they can take on all these yeye armed robbers and kidnappers. If they legalize i will open a shooting range sharp ,sharp in Nigeria.Just imagine how much money you will make from such a business . before you know guns will become fashion accessories and guy like wizkid will be posing with their rifles on their twitter page. You know our people now! ![]() I did a bit of research and i see that the Ak 12 is actually a brand new weapon and only a few privileged people have actually had the honor of test firing it.The Russian army will take delivery of it this year |
firetrap: Yeah the air force quick response group (QRG) and also Navy Special Boat Service (SBS) and the SSS weild tavors. I can't go a day without visiting beegeagles blog. I'm there like 10 or more times a dayQRG "quick response group" is a nice name but i am not feeling the name SBS. I would have gone for something like Navy "Special Marine Force" (SMF) or "Special Assault Force" SAF. Anyway that is just me! The Tavors don't come cheap though do they? I see some listed here for here: http://www.tombstonetactical.com/catalog/iwi-us/tsfd16-tavor-sar-bullpup-rifle-5.56mm-16.5in-30rd-fde/ |
Check out the Russian president testing the Ak 12. I won't lie ,i have no experience with the AK 12.I will check with the guys at my local shooting range to see if anyone has one.It does look like a very sweet weapon. https://www.durreslajm.com/sites/default/files/artikuj/2_21.jpg If not for the cartridge i won't realize it is an AK.They changed a lot ,like the stock ,the wood barrel cover e.t.c.It looks mean! Dont mind me i am gun crazy ![]() |
firetrap: To the best of my knowledge, the Nigerian air force developed a bunch of drones sometimes last year. They are called amebo drones and from the name its safe to say that they are reconnaissance drones. And I heard awhile ago that they have already been deployed to those restive areasOh yes i remember that,i hope they use it now because i want our personnel to have the upper hand and kick these Boko mofos to the ground.By the way i was on Beeagles blog now and he showed a picture of our Airforce personnel sporting the Tavor rifle. This is another bad ass rifle ![]() Do you agree though that gun scopes should be made available for personnel weapons especially the aks? I mean don't you think that will help with accuracy? Let me share the picture of a brand new AK with scope:
|
firetrap: @yeboyes I'm sorry if my earlier comment came of as an insult to you. I didn't intend it to once again I'm sorry. But back to the topic; I believe the military should stick to a weapon that is known to the soldiers but a more modern version of it. With that said I give you the AK 12No worries brother. My critism of the Nigerian Army is not because i hate our army but because i love our army.I don't want our personnel dying while some fat general is drinking larger beer in the comfort of his home. Our boys and girls must be given the best hardware so that they chances of not getting killed is higher. These soldiers put the lives on the line for all of us so they must be treated like our brothers and sisters not some disposable thing. I am of the Opinion that the Nigerian Military personnel should form a union to ask for better wages and better weapons.I love that Ak you displayed ,especially because it has a lot of useful accessories. Are these being used by the Nigerian army yet? |
mistiff007: Just one APACHE AH-64 is enough to tackle the operation, but clueles leaders r dump like an ashtray. To the best of my knowledge we do not have Apaches and a single helicopter can not sort out Boko haram. Like some pointed out earlier , intelligence is important. We need to have someone feeding us information about the plans of boko before we strike. These guys are going in blindly with limited intelligence. I forsee a blood bath on both sides if adequate care is not taken. If i were in the shoes of the Military intelligence officer at this late state i will just employ the use of small spy drone. There are some spy drone which are small but have a long range and are very quiet. The spy drone can perform forward Reconnaissance tasks by flying over volatile areas, recording video and taking pictures. This spy drones cost anything from $150 to $2 million each and are used by many Militaries today. Let me show you a video of what a spy drone can do: http://www.youtube.com/user/aceflyernz/featured?v=5VZRpImpdcg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-c7k8Vj_zw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjBOEBn2_mY |
shymexx: The white-blue-red insignia on those toys tells you all you need to know. You know the problem with some of the bloggers here, they have blind patriotism.I am a naija born, foreign trained operator.I love my country but i don't dable in tomfoolery. The Nigerian Army in it's current state can not fight many countries. We have the money to make our boys the best but years of corruption ruined that and now we are playing catch up.Do you know that our navy just established a navy commando unit in 2005 or was 2006 ? They call them special boat services ,i mean what a stupid name? In the Us they are called seals but we name our own special boat services It shows you that those in charge of our Military are clueless. How can you name a set of naval special forces unit "special boat services"? The name does not even go with the function of the unit.It is the same way government buildings in Nigeria are built to look like Islamic or Arabic symbols. Talk about a bunch of donkeys running the country! Aso rock looks like a huge mosque and so does the senate buildings. We have lost the plot completely and unless competent people are brought back into leadership we will remain at this level, incompetent , dumb and useless. Take a look at India Army, those guys know what they are about. Their Government is shelling money on their military like crazy. They even partnered with Russia on the Su 50 PAK FA 5th generation fighter jet programme. This means that in about 3 years India will have one of the best fighter jets in the world that can take on any fighter jet even from USA. The Indians have intelligent leaders who understand the importance of the well-equipped military. Iran today can give USA the middle finger because they are well armed and are about to become a nuclear power. Nigeria on the hand is accepted a world war 2 navy ship from USA as a gift, in order words the US military sees Nigeria as a dumping ground for outdated hardware. We have useless leader and useless military leader finish and klaar! All these people who are making noise have forgotten that common Cameroon use our nose blow trumpet for bakassi and our soldiers ran for dear life, abi i lie.I have got nothing against the soldier but i am not happy with the security chiefs. We should be number one in Africa with all the money we make but we are not ![]() |
firetrap: yesman or whatever you call yourself, I believe that your a matured adult with pubic hairs. please stop comparing the Nigerian military structure with that of other nations. our so called ancient navy flagship which was hitherto listed as inoperable and grounded on Wikipedia showed up during the centenary celebration in Brazil and won an award even in the presence of aircraft carriers. Battles are won not by the amount of equipment a nation has but by how they are usedYou see this is the attitude i hate about our people. We are are having a mature conversation and you are getting angry and insulting me.If you are a soldier then you are undisciplined and do not have self control.I am not a soldier but i am a trained combatant but i know how to behave in public because i was trained by one of the best tactical assault tutors in the world.Gra gra no dey solve anything.Keep your emotions in check and let us debate like civilized men. |
firetrap: who told you such rifles are affordable and cheap. one of such cost close to 13k dollars for the standard version without any other accessories. please don't be quick to trash the weapons we use. the US still issues its soldiers with m16s and m14s and not every AK you see is an Ak 47. we have different variants of the AK in our inventory$13,000 for what? Who will buy it? The average cost of FN Scars are between $2000 to $4000 depending if it is light or heavy version as well as if accessories are included. Now that price is the price i can buy it as a civilian at the local gun store. If the Nigerian Military wants to order the full auto version ,they will sell it to them cheaper as they are buying in bulk. The most important accessories that most of the troops should have is the red dot sight. The milion our politicians steal is enough to arm the boys who go and risk their lives for us. I am aware that Ak-47 comes in different variants but the accuracy at long range and recoil problems remain similar amongst all the variants.I own an Ak-47 amongst other weapons and i love it but i know it's limitation. The recoil affects accuracy especially in a situation where you have to use supressive fire or even if you are trying to get out of a jam.It also has a forward grip accessory which helps to stabilize the barrel for precision shooting and further reduce recoil. The FN Scar has lighter recoil and with a longer barrel is deadly accurate meaning you use less bullets to hit your target dead center. I also like the weight distribution of the FN scar .I take my rifles to the range on the weekends and i compare both and to be honest the FN Scar is just Sweet to use.I tell you if you give our boys FN scar they will dump AK-47 in a Jiffy. The usual excuse people make for the Ak-47 is that it never jams but in a combat situation ,soldier are more concerned about hitting their target than their weapons jamming.Even if your rifle jams ,you will switch to your pistol. The FN Scar rarely jams and only does so after it has fired quite a lot of rounds. Let me share some videos of the FN Scar with you: FN Scar L (Light)or FN Scar 16 (Light) .The both fire the 5.56 Nato Rounds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-FmhKZxXkU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5AXc1wXzws https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2KQ4r3f9cs FN Scar H (Heavy) or FN Scar 17 (Heavy) They fire the 7.62 rounds like the AK https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=G1bBFc1lE3M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJOhOUNIZeI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZjpxskLG4I |
Emmadani: its a pity that d most populous black nation wit ova 170m pple has only 62,000 troops.Whr a country like egypt, ethiopia, drc congo n angolo av about 350,000,200,000,150,000 and 101,000 troops respectively,n non of dis countries has a treble million pple like nigeria...But number of troops is not realy d case, sum of our equipment is poor n outdated,al d money govt av stolen 4rm dis country is enough to provide our military with quality armour n equipment, technology(n change wit stil remain)-do nigeria even av a SAS(special air service, like in the britian)...?Not to talk of well trained military personel...A country like 9ja wil neva risk 10m naira just to train 1 army man.....I watched 1 american military movie,1st of its kind to feature MEND in an international movie...Whr an arab militancy group leader told his gangs that d britain govt spent about 60b pounds to train just 2 army men they wanted to attack. He said dose two guys are not humans but MACHINES...Imagine.Look at the risk,60b pounds to train just 2 army personel, even if it was a movie i stil beleive country like us or britian can spend dat amount on soldiers....God help nigeria.Any way i wish dem success, bring down bh 4 us.BlessYour information is flawed ,i am of the misunderstanding that Nigeria has over 98,000 active troops.Secondly it is not the number of troops you have that really matters but the fire power you have.A small island country with just 10 F-22 Raptors will defeat Nigeria in less than a day. That is the bitter truth. We don't have the fire power at the moment to fight serious wars. Our Army tanks are old ,Our navy ships are ancient ,our fighter jets are flying coffins ,what more can i say.Nigeria is regarded as being more powerful than Algeria who is to our our North but as a man who is involved in the world of military arms ,i know for a bonafide fact that Algeria will give Nigeria a tough time in a head to head war. Not only does algeria have over mordern 1000s tanks but they also have 4th generation fight jets like the Su 27 and su 35 fulcrum.Their Navy has over 12 destroyer vessels that are faster and more deadlier than Nigeria's ancient NSS flag ship. They also have over 260 attack helicopters and their soldier are trained in jijustu. To make matters worse they also have submarine which could come into our waters and shell our cities with missiles. http://www.globalfirepower.com/country-military-strength-detail.asp?country_id=Algeria http://www.globalfirepower.com/country-military-strength-detail.asp?country_id=nigeria |
Prof Corruption: Ultimately, BH can't be defeated without good intelligence and even deploying 100,000 troops without required intelligence is zero. What we are dealing with sounds more of an intelligence war than a conventional one.I agree with what you have said as it is the ultimate truth.Without advanced intelligence gathering techniques in place ,our boys will just be shooting innocent people at will and will even fall into ambush on the regular. It may however be too late for them to get good intelligence at this stage as this should have been done at least a few months before this SOE. The DSS or DMI should have planted moles inside Boko Haram sect at least a year ago who would have been giving them info on what BK planns to do next.I however doubt that this has happened as over the past 3 years Boko haram has carried out numerous attacks successfully and caught the security forces napping. The Nigeria factor always messes things up in the end.Our Military and security services needs a shake up at the top. Competent and well knowledgable men like me should be hired to restore some discipline to these sectors. Our Military is anything but competent ,we should be glad that we have never faced a formidable force otherwise we will realize how indiscipline, lack of foresight, lack of of commitment and planning has weakened our armed forces.Did we not get our asses kicked in Bakassi by Cameroon's army? |
I will also make sure that each squad has at least one master stealth sniper armed with the latest SRS sniper rifle with silencer and camouflaged muzzle. https://www.gunslot.com/files/gunslot/images/56024.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e6/Camouflaged-sniper.jpg |
If i were the defence minister i would ensure that our soldiers have the latest military gear most especially armored tactical gear like the one below: https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/images/interceptor-deltoid-image1.jpg https://www.pointblankarmor.com/Military/_images/_mainImages/otv_bg.jpg The above cost less than a thousand dollars per soldier. I will also arm all our combatant soldiers with the latest and most accurate assault rifles like FN Scar Lite and heavy loaded with extra. This is my favorite rifle as it is has tons of accessories and is extremely accurate especially with a longer barrel. With this riffle you won't waste bullets. One bullet one kill.It is favored by a lot of modern militaries as it is very affordable, accurate and durable. https://www.popularairsoft.com/files/images/AGCustom_FNSCAR-L-CQB_EGLMFDEDXGas-BlowBack.jpg https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/scar-002.jpg |
Our Soldiers are equipped like this : When they should be equipped like this: https://www.armybase.us/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/US-soldiers-with-the-1st-Battallion-6th-Regiment-2nd-BCT.JPG https://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2007/11/07/world/07kurds.xlarge1.jpg We certainly have the money to equip our boys better and reduce their risk of getting killed by thugs. |
It is quite SAD that in these day and age our Military is poorly equipped. Most of our Soldier are still carry AK -47 manufactured 20 years ago and our Airforce is still flying Alpha jets which some countries will not even use to train their pilots. Like Sowore said on Aljaazeera stream many of what these Boko Haram boys are getting away with is a simple policing matter but because corruption has eaten deep in to the fabric of our security forces we now have to call the army in. I personally will make a better defense minister than all Nigeria's defense ministers combined. The only thing our Military chief and defense minister are good at is embezzling money, walking around with a walking stick and growing pot bellies. Here is a US General https://www.thehindu.com/multimedia/dynamic/00509/DEVA_BRITAIN_U_S__P_509953e.jpg And here is a Nigerian Air Chief https://www.maverickpakistanis.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/paf_nigerian-12-11-12-4.jpg Can you spot the difference, the US General is physically fit and can still run a mile while the Nigerian won't even be able to do 5 press ups. When we have undisciplined officers like the Airchief running our Military how can we be formidable force? Here is another picture of unfit officers in the Nigerian army: https://itv-radio.com/all_about_the_news/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/army-day.jpg |
Most Nigerian construction companies are incompetent ,see how the pillars of the building are slanting slightly, that is poor workmanship.Secondly the windows look like church windows and are not level. The whole building is a total waste of money. The Governor wasted money to build a massive state house like this instead of building a hospital where his people can get treatment for cure able ailments.Judging from the size of the building,it could accommodate at least 300 hospital beds.Nigeria does not have leaders ,we have mad men and mad people who keep voting for them. |
ochukoccna: EKO O NI BAJE O!I know fibre is faster ,i am just trying to confirm if Lagos has ADSL. If Lagos does have direct ADSL ,i will like to know which ADSL vendors offer the service as i have searched the internet and can't find one who does. There is a difference between having fibre optic cable to power GSM towers and having fibre optic cables directly connected to your land line.I use ADSL 24-7 in my country of residence and average 15MB per second so i am looking for any service provider in Nigeria who can match that speed |
Eko Atlantic:Eko ,i am a bit confused. If Lagos has fiber optic cables does this mean Lagos has ADSL? I was under the impression that Nigeria no longer has landl lines and that the only internet available is wireless in the form of 3G. Please advise. |
Ok ,For once i support Jonathan. This is a very GOOD move if they actually do it.I will suggest they bring in foreign experienced experts to "manage" the yard and open training schools to train Nigerians in the art of ship designing and building. They should aim to build small speed boats, yachts and container ships.Rome was not built in day but if they hire credible and competent people the yard will boost Nigeria's economy. |

I am a military Chemist with deep interest in military operations and production and use of explosives. Tell magazine july 29th 2002, page 18. I was at the Defence Idustires corporation of Nigeria DICON in Kaduna for 5years before a dump ass Army General with no comba experience came as the DG and terminated my appointment, because I disagreed with him on many issues, including the fact that he was cutting down trees that acted as cover over our ammo storage underground bunkers. Painfully he gave his wife sister the contract, so she can sell the wood as firewood.
